1Fix the driver behind crashes, sound loss and screen glitches2Clear out junk files and repair common Windows errors3Scan for outdated or missing drivers - takes under a minuteUse n8n’s MCP Client node to connect to a Sanity MCP endpoint, confirm that authentication works and tools are discovered, then run a low-risk read operation and compare its result with a known Sanity document or query. First identify which Sanity service you mean: the general hosted MCP server and Sanity Context MCP use different endpoint and credential setups. This is a documentation-based integration pattern, not a jointly tested Sanity–n8n recipe, so verify each step against your own endpoint.
Choose the Sanity connection that matches the job
Sanity offers two MCP options relevant here. Its general hosted MCP server is at https://mcp.sanity.io; Sanity says it supports compatible MCP clients and uses OAuth by default or API-token authentication, with token roles scoping tool calls. Sanity Context MCP is a separate service behind Sanity Context, with an endpoint obtained from the Context app and structured, read-only access to content allowed by its configuration.

| Option | Interaction and access | Credential guidance | Validation focus |
|---|---|---|---|
| General Sanity MCP | Client-invoked MCP tools; available tools and scope depend on endpoint and permissions. | Sanity documents OAuth or API-token authentication; the token role scopes calls. | Confirm connection and discovered tools, then make a safe read call. |
| Sanity Context MCP | Structured, read-only access to permitted content. | Requires an organization API token with Context Viewer permissions; project API tokens are not accepted. | Confirm the Context endpoint, organization-level permission, tool discovery, and a read result. |
| Sanity document webhook | Sanity sends an HTTP request when configured document events occur; this is not MCP. | Configure appropriate request headers or an optional secret for origin verification. | Trigger a configured event and verify the receiving n8n HTTP/webhook workflow. |
For content-change notifications rather than agent-invoked tools, use the webhook path: Sanity’s webhook API supports GROQ filters and projections, configurable HTTP methods and headers, and an optional secret hashed into request headers. See the Sanity Webhooks API reference.
Crashes, No Sound, or Screen Glitches?

- Select the endpoint. For general Sanity MCP, enter
https://mcp.sanity.io. For Context MCP, use the endpoint URL shown in the Sanity Context app. Do not substitute one endpoint or its credential setup for the other. Sanity’s setup guidance is in Get started with the Sanity MCP server and Configure an MCP. - Add n8n’s MCP Client node. Configure its server transport and endpoint URL to match the MCP server. n8n documents endpoint, authentication, tool selection, and input-mode settings in its MCP Client node documentation. Use the transport the endpoint supports; do not assume an undocumented transport setting.
- Set authentication for that endpoint. n8n documents bearer, generic header, multiple-header, and OAuth2 options. Choose the one required by the server. For Context MCP, use the required organization token with Context Viewer permission; Sanity explicitly says a project API token will not work. Store secrets using n8n’s credential mechanism rather than putting them in ordinary workflow text.
- Allow tool discovery. n8n says the MCP Client fetches available tools from the external server. Select the tools needed for the workflow, if the node configuration calls for selection. The list can vary by endpoint configuration and permissions, so do not expect every Sanity account to show an identical set.
Sanity’s Context setup instructions also use listing tools to verify a connection. The exact controls may vary with n8n version and configuration; follow the current n8n node documentation for the node fields available in your installation.

Validate the integration in separate checks
A connected node alone does not prove the full integration is usable. Treat endpoint reachability, authentication, tool discovery, and content access as distinct checks.
- Check endpoint reachability. Confirm that the MCP Client can reach the endpoint you selected. If it cannot establish a connection, verify the endpoint URL and transport against the applicable Sanity setup instructions before changing credentials.
- Check authentication. Confirm that the selected auth method and credential match the endpoint. For Context MCP, verify the token is organization-level and has Context Viewer permission.
- Check tool discovery. Confirm that n8n can fetch the available tools. Discovery shows that the client can communicate with the server and learn its exposed capabilities; it does not prove a particular content read will succeed.
- Run a safe read. Choose a low-risk read operation for the intended dataset, then compare the returned document or content with a known Sanity document or query result. This is a practical validation method based on the documented read-only/context capabilities and tool discovery behavior, not a reported test result.
n8n’s separate MCP server tools reference describes verify_agent_mcp_server, which tests an MCP server using an accessible credential and returns available tools. That is a capability of n8n’s MCP server tooling, not a Sanity-specific integration recipe; see the n8n MCP server tools reference.

Troubleshoot missing tools and failed reads
- Connection fails: Recheck the endpoint and transport for the specific Sanity service. The general Sanity endpoint is not the Context MCP endpoint.
- Context MCP returns 403 or lacks access: Check for an organization token with Context Viewer permissions. A project-level token is not a substitute, even if it appears to have broad project permissions.
- Expected tools are absent: Tool availability can vary with server-side configuration and account, project, or dataset permissions. Confirm what the endpoint is configured to expose rather than relying on a fixed list.
- Tools appear but the read fails: Check that the requested content is within the endpoint’s permitted scope and that the intended dataset is being queried. Discovery and successful access to particular content are separate outcomes.
- You need a workflow triggered by edits: Use a Sanity document webhook and an n8n HTTP/webhook workflow rather than treating MCP calls as change notifications. Limit configured events and projected fields to what the workflow needs, and validate event delivery separately.
What this integration does—and does not—establish
Sanity and n8n document their MCP components independently. Their documentation supports using n8n’s MCP Client to connect to an external MCP server and using Sanity’s hosted MCP services, but it does not provide an officially tested end-to-end Sanity–n8n recipe. Validate the endpoint, credential, discovered tools, and read call in your own setup; the available tools and access depend on your configuration.
