To save webpage PDFs automatically, create a Zap with a trigger that supplies a page URL, use CloudConvert’s Capture a Website action with Output Format set to PDF, then send the resulting file to a storage action such as Google Drive’s Upload File. Test the capture and upload steps together before turning the Zap on.
Build the Zap
- Choose a trigger. Select an app event that provides the webpage URL. For recurring snapshots, Zapier documents an example using Schedule by Zapier to capture a specified website daily. Check the cadence and availability in your own account before relying on a schedule. See Zapier’s CloudConvert integration and its daily scheduling example.
- Add CloudConvert’s capture action. Select Capture a Website, enter or map the webpage URL, and set Output Format to PDF. Zapier lists URL and Output Format as required fields. CloudConvert’s Capture Website operation documentation also defines a required URL and output format, including PDF.
- Add a storage action. For example, choose Google Drive’s Upload File, select the destination folder, and map CloudConvert’s resulting PDF into the upload step’s File field.
- Test the whole workflow. Test the trigger, capture, and upload steps, then confirm the saved file is a PDF in the expected folder. Test with the same kind of URL and file mapping the live Zap will receive.
Choose a trigger that fits the job
Recurring snapshots
Use a schedule trigger when you want repeat captures of a known page. Zapier publishes a daily-capture example with Schedule by Zapier and CloudConvert, but the cadence and availability you can select depend on the settings shown in your account.

Event-driven captures
Use a trigger from another app when an event supplies the URL—for example, a new record or message containing a page address. Map that URL into CloudConvert’s URL field so each run captures the page associated with the triggering event.

Make sure the storage step receives a file
CloudConvert’s action creates a website capture job, and the Zap needs to pass the resulting PDF to the destination. Zapier’s Google Drive listing identifies Upload File as the destination action and requires a File value. In Zapier file fields, use file data or a direct download link accepted by the action—not a webpage that only displays or previews the PDF. Zapier’s file guidance explains the distinction.
#1 Best Overall
- Convert your PDF files into Word, Excel & Co. the easy way
- Convert scanned documents thanks to our new 2022 OCR technology
- Adjustable conversion settings
- No subscription! Lifetime license!
- Compatible with Windows 11, 10, 8.1, 7 - Internet connection required
- Check that the mapped value comes from CloudConvert’s file output, not a preview page.
- Confirm the Upload File action has the intended Google Drive folder selected.
- After a test run, open the uploaded file and verify that it is a PDF and contains the expected page.
Check reliability before relying on automation
- Test each Zap step, then run an end-to-end test so the capture output is proven to reach storage.
- Check that the source URL is present and that CloudConvert’s output format is PDF.
- Confirm the destination folder and inspect the uploaded file.
- For scheduled captures, review the current schedule and availability in your Zapier account; live actions, fields, timing, and plan settings can change.
The official integration information establishes the workflow and required fields, but does not establish universal plan limits, exact current costs, or a guaranteed schedule cadence for every account. Check your account’s current settings before planning around a specific frequency.
Troubleshoot common problems
The capture action has no page URL
Make sure the trigger actually provides a URL and that the correct trigger field is mapped into CloudConvert’s required URL field. Retest the trigger if the sample record has no address.

The output is not a PDF
Open the CloudConvert action and set Output Format to PDF, then retest the capture step and verify its output before testing the upload.
Google Drive rejects the File value
Inspect the Upload File step’s File input. Replace a preview or display-page URL with CloudConvert’s file output or a direct download link that the action accepts, following Zapier’s file instructions.

The file is missing or in the wrong folder
Check that the upload step maps the capture’s PDF output and that the intended destination folder is selected. Run the complete Zap test again and inspect the resulting Drive file.
The schedule does not run at the expected cadence
Review the Schedule by Zapier settings and availability shown in your account. The published daily example demonstrates one workflow, not a guarantee that every account or plan has identical scheduling options.

Or skip the browser setup
If you need a screenshot or PDF capture endpoint rather than assembling a browser workflow, ScreenshotNeo provides a one-request website screenshot API and an MCP server for AI agents. For a direct PDF URL, set the output format to PDF as described in the ScreenshotNeo documentation.
curl -G "https://api.screenshotneo.com/v1/shot" -d access_key=YOUR_API_KEY --data-urlencode url=https://stripe.com -d format=pdf -o page.pdf
ScreenshotNeo accepts cookie or consent banners like a visitor and removes 60+ known consent platforms, newsletter popups, and chat widgets before capture; each step can be turned off. Bot checks and CAPTCHAs, blank pages, timeouts, failed loads, and cache hits cost nothing, and response headers identify the page verdict and billing status. Its MCP server provides take_screenshot, get_page_info, and capture_pdf tools for Claude, Cursor, and other MCP clients. The Free plan includes 1,000 shots per month with no card; paid plans start at $5 for 3,000 shots.
