Start with the exact message beside the stream health indicator in YouTube Live Control Room. Match that warning to your encoder’s output, then check whether your outbound connection can sustain the total bitrate. A 720p Tamil playlist does not require a special encoder configuration: the resolution, codec, frame rate, bitrate and connection determine stream health.
Read the warning before changing settings
In YouTube Live Control Room, find the stream health indicator and copy the exact message displayed beside it. YouTube says errors appear there and may include instructions; the warning color alone does not identify the cause. Messages can point to bitrate, bandwidth, video codec, audio codec or another configuration issue. See YouTube’s live streaming error guidance and stream health metrics.

Use the message to choose what to inspect first. If it names an unsupported codec or incorrect bitrate, check that encoder field. If it reports insufficient bandwidth, investigate upload capacity and connection stability before raising bitrate.

Compare the encoder’s actual output with YouTube’s live ingest recommendations, not with settings for uploading a finished video. YouTube lists the same 720p bitrate ranges for 30 fps and 60 fps. The figures below are YouTube Help operational recommendations; the page does not state a publication year.

These are video bitrate values. Your connection must also carry audio and any other stream data, so compare its capacity with the total stream bitrate rather than treating the video figure as the whole load. Check YouTube’s live encoder settings for the current recommendations.
Verify the output format
- Confirm the encoder is actually sending 720p and the intended frame rate, either 30 or 60 fps.
- For RTMP or RTMPS, YouTube lists H.264, H.265 and AV1 video, and AAC or MP3 audio.
- Use CBR bitrate encoding. YouTube recommends a 2-second keyframe interval; do not exceed 4 seconds.
If the warning identifies an incompatible codec or configuration, correct that field rather than changing unrelated settings. The playlist language does not change these encoder requirements.

Check upload bandwidth and connection reliability
YouTube says the total bitrate cannot exceed available upload bandwidth and recommends leaving 20% headroom. In its Streaming tips, YouTube advises checking upload speed because it may be lower than download speed.
- Measure outbound upload speed on the same connection the encoder will use. Do not use download speed as a substitute.
- Compare the measured upload capacity with the stream’s total bitrate, including audio, and leave the recommended 20% room.
- Consider whether other people or devices are using the connection, or whether the connection is unstable under load.
- If the connection cannot carry the selected settings reliably, reduce bitrate or choose a lower resolution supported by YouTube, then test again.
Do not increase bitrate just to clear a warning when the connection lacks capacity. YouTube’s error guidance recommends considering a lower selected resolution when bandwidth is insufficient. If reliability is the issue, testing a wired connection may help isolate Wi-Fi instability; it will not fix a codec mismatch or insufficient overall bandwidth.

Test the playlist before the broadcast
Before the intended stream, test with audio and movement similar to the actual playlist and watch the stream health indicator and its messages. A static or slow-moving playlist is still the content being encoded and sent; do not assume its Tamil language calls for a special setting or that low movement eliminates the need to meet the ingest and bandwidth requirements. YouTube’s encoder guidance recommends testing and monitoring.
Change one relevant setting at a time and retest. That makes it easier to tell whether a corrected codec, bitrate, resolution or network condition resolved the warning.
