CloudConvert can turn a web page into a PDF when the page can be accessed using supported request headers. Its documentation does not establish that it can sign in through a website’s login form or reuse an interactive browser session. If the page requires those, save it from a browser where you are already signed in, if the site permits it.
What “password-protected” means here
A website behind a login and an encrypted PDF are different problems. CloudConvert’s capture-website operation captures a URL as a PDF; its HTML-to-PDF product page says custom Authorization headers can be supplied for protected resources. That is a possible route when the site grants access through headers you can provide, such as an authorized token. It does not mean CloudConvert can handle every kind of website sign-in. Can CloudConvert access a page behind a login?
When header-based access may work
If the site owner or administrator provides an Authorization header or token for the page, CloudConvert’s HTML-to-PDF documentation describes custom Authorization headers for protected resources. Use only credentials you are authorized to use, and follow the site’s access rules. The public capture reference confirms URL capture, but does not establish that headers are forwarded to every page subresource in all cases.

When the page requires a browser session
The reviewed public documentation does not establish support for logging in through a form, reusing browser cookies or session state, entering a one-time code, or completing multi-factor authentication. If access depends on one of those steps, CloudConvert may not be able to reproduce your signed-in browser session. Use the site’s own export if available, or open the page in a browser where you are signed in and use its Print or Save as PDF function, provided that is permitted.
Use CloudConvert’s API to capture a URL as PDF
The API workflow creates a job made up of tasks: capture the web page, then export the resulting file. The following is a structural example of the job’s task definitions, not a complete tested HTTP request. Add the site’s actual supported header parameters only after checking CloudConvert’s current operation reference; the example deliberately does not guess a site-specific authentication scheme.

Do not assume a cookie, form-login, or MFA flow is supported. - Export the result. Chain an
export/urltask to the capture task, as shown above. Follow the current operation reference and job API reference for the exact request syntax and task parameters. - Download the PDF promptly. The quickstart says an
export/urllink is valid for 24 hours. Save the file when the job completes, or configure an export destination suitable for your workflow. The temporary URL is not a permanent archive. See the Quickstart Guide.
Because API keys and site credentials can grant access to private material, keep them out of logs, source repositories, and publicly visible links. CloudConvert’s signed URL documentation warns against placing sensitive information such as storage credentials in job payloads embedded in a publicly visible signed URL: Signed URLs.

Common problems and fixes
- The capture returns a login page. The required access may depend on a browser session rather than a supported header. Check whether the site offers an authorized token or export; otherwise use the signed-in browser’s PDF feature if allowed.
- The page loads, but protected content is missing. A page can load while separate assets or content requests remain inaccessible. The reviewed documentation does not establish how custom headers are applied to every subresource. Check the capture operation’s current parameter documentation and the site’s authentication requirements.
- Job creation is rejected. Confirm that the API key is sent as a Bearer token and has the required
task.writescope. Consult API Documentation and Jobs. - The exported link no longer works. Export URLs are documented as valid for 24 hours. Download the PDF promptly or choose an appropriate export destination in the workflow.
- You have a PDF password, not a website login. Use the PDF decryption operation for an existing encrypted PDF; do not send that password as if it were website authentication.
