You can’t install or run Chrome Web Store extensions in Chrome on an iPhone. Google’s documented extension workflow is for desktop Chrome. If you tap “Add to Desktop” on your phone, the extension is sent to Chrome on a computer for you to confirm there—not added to your iPhone.
Can you use Chrome extensions in Chrome on iPhone?
No. Chrome for iPhone has no extension-installation workflow in Google’s current iPhone setup and feature documentation. Google’s extension instructions cover installing and managing extensions on desktop Chrome. A Google Chrome Help Community reply also says iPhone Chrome does not support extensions, but that is community guidance rather than a formal product specification.

Google’s documentation does not establish a specific Apple policy as the reason. The practical point is that Chrome extensions are not available to install or run in the iPhone app.
Do these 3 things before closing this tab:
1Fix the driver behind crashes, sound loss and screen glitches2Clear out junk files and repair common Windows errors3Scan for outdated or missing drivers - takes under a minuteWhat “Add to Desktop” does
If you find an extension while using your phone and choose “Add to Desktop,” you are asking Google to send it to your desktop Chrome account. Google says you’ll see a prompt the next time you open Chrome on a computer, where you can confirm and enable the extension. The phone action does not install the extension on your iPhone.

What you can set up in Chrome for iPhone
Chrome on iPhone supports regular mobile-browser setup, not desktop extensions. Google’s current setup guidance specifies iOS 18 and up and covers installing Chrome from the App Store, signing in to a Google Account, setting Chrome as the default browser, changing the address-bar position, and adding Chrome to the dock. These options don’t add extension support.

If an extension is essential on your phone
Chrome on a computer is the documented way to use Chrome extensions. If you need a feature while browsing on your iPhone, check whether the service provides its own iOS app or whether a suitable option is built into your browser or iOS. Those alternatives are not Chrome extensions and may not offer the same features.
