For a Hindi blog, also verify that the target page actually serves Hindi content and that Devanagari characters, fonts and line breaks render correctly at the finished thumbnail size.
What you need before making a thumbnail
- An ApiFlash access key from your account dashboard. Keep it on your server; a key embedded in browser-visible code can be copied and misused.
- The complete URL of the page to capture, beginning with
https://orhttp://. - A desired thumbnail width and output format. The API supports JPEG, PNG and WebP.
ApiFlash describes its service in its documentation as a screenshot API for generating website screenshots. The workflow is an API request, not a Hindi-blog editor feature: you can save the resulting image and add it to a post using your normal publishing workflow.

Make a thumbnail with ApiFlash
- Sign in to ApiFlash and create or retrieve an access key in the account dashboard.
- Choose the URL of the page you want to preview. Encode it when placing it in a query string; the example below uses an encoded target URL.
- Set
thumbnail_widthto the intended output width. ApiFlash preserves the aspect ratio. This is distinct fromwidthandheight, which set the browser viewport used to render the page. - Choose
format:webporjpegfor typically compact thumbnails, orpngwhen that format better suits your publishing requirements. The documented default is JPEG at quality 80; thequalityoption applies to JPEG and WebP. - Send a GET or POST request to
https://api.apiflash.com/v1/urltoimagewithaccess_keyandurl. By default,response_type=imagereturns image bytes directly. Save those bytes with the matching file extension.
For example, this illustrative request asks for a 600-pixel-wide WebP thumbnail. Replace the key and target URL; do not expose a real key in public client-side code:

The request pattern is based on the ApiFlash API documentation; it is not a tested call or a guarantee that every target site can be captured.
Keep the key private in a blog workflow
Do not put the access key in JavaScript served to blog readers. Make the ApiFlash request from a server-side publishing integration, backend endpoint or a proxy configured to keep the key private. ApiFlash’s guides describe proxy approaches using Nginx or Cloudflare Workers; consult the ApiFlash guides for implementation details.
For a recurring thumbnail, generate or refresh it on the server and store the resulting image or returned image URL in your publishing workflow. Avoid calling the screenshot endpoint on every reader’s page view: caching the thumbnail in your own workflow reduces redundant requests and helps control quota use.

Choose the capture shape and rendering settings
Thumbnail width versus browser viewport
thumbnail_width sets the output image width while preserving its aspect ratio. width and height instead control the browser viewport, which affects the page layout before it is captured. Set the viewport to resemble the layout you want to show, then use thumbnail_width for the final thumbnail size.
Viewport image or full-page capture
For a blog card or preview image, a viewport screenshot is often a more useful shape than a very tall capture. Set full_page=true when the thumbnail should show the whole page; in that mode, ApiFlash ignores thumbnail_width. Check the resulting aspect ratio and crop in the blog layout before publishing.
Hindi text and fonts
The accept_language parameter sets the request’s Accept-Language header. It may influence a site that selects a localized version based on that header, but it does not translate a page or guarantee Hindi text. The target site must provide the Hindi content.

Inspect the actual output for Devanagari glyphs, font loading, line wrapping and legibility at the intended display size. ApiFlash’s FAQ says using a site’s own fonts is the reliable option for consistent font rendering; system fonts can differ across environments. If text or imagery appears only after an element loads, use a selector wait where possible.

Wait for the page to finish rendering
The documented default wait criterion is network_idle. Other documented wait_until choices are dom_loaded and page_loaded. You can also use wait_for to wait for a CSS selector or delay for a fixed pause. ApiFlash advises preferring wait conditions to an arbitrary delay when possible.
wait_until_timeout caps waiting at 30 seconds. A wait_for selector times out after 15 seconds if no matching element appears. When the target uses lazy-loaded content, choose a suitable wait or selector and inspect the image to ensure the content you need is present.

Remove distractions or capture a specific region
The no_cookie_banners and no_ads options can suppress common interruptions. Use element to capture a particular CSS selector, or crop to capture a defined rectangular region. These controls can help produce a useful preview, but test the output because page structure and consent interfaces vary.
Manage freshness, cache and quota
ApiFlash documents ttl as a cache duration from 0 to 2,592,000 seconds. Identical cached requests do not count against the monthly screenshot quota according to its documentation. Use a refresh policy that fits the target page: cached output avoids needless recaptures, while fresh=true bypasses a cached screenshot when you need a new capture.
The official service page retrieved for the published pricing snapshot listed 100 screenshots per month free, Lite at $7 per month for 1,000, Medium at $35 per month for 10,000, Large at $180 per month for 100,000, and custom enterprise plans. Pricing and plan limits can change; check the current ApiFlash service page before budgeting. The documentation also gives a rate limit of 20 requests per second with a burst size of 400; exceeding the burst can result in HTTP 429. Failed identical captures are limited to five requests per hour.
