To use Talk Studio’s built-in teleprompter, open Text > Teleprompter > Add New, save your script, then choose Show. You can hide or pause the prompt and adjust its scrolling speed while presenting. Streamlabs says the text is visible only to you—not to viewers in the stream or recording.
Add a teleprompter script on desktop

In Talk Studio, open Text on the right side of the studio. You can also use the keyboard shortcut Shift + T.

Find the Teleprompter section and select Add New.

Enter your script and press Add to save it.

Return to the Teleprompter section and select Show. The script appears in the studio editor or preview for you to read.

Add a script on tablet or mobile

Open Menu below the editor or preview.

Select Text, then scroll to Teleprompter.

Choose Add New, enter your script, and press Add.
Control the prompt while presenting
The teleprompter provides Hide/Show, Play/Pause, and scrolling-speed controls. Pause when you want to elaborate, take a breath, or respond to chat; use Show again when you are ready to continue.
Streamlabs says the speed starts at 0.5 and can be increased to 2x. Changing the speed restarts the prompt from the beginning, so set your pace before you get far into the script or be ready to resume from the start. The controls and behavior are described in the Streamlabs teleprompter guide and its April 25, 2025 announcement.

Edit, show, or remove a saved script
Open Text and return to Teleprompter. Use the pencil or edit control beside a saved prompt to change it. The same area provides controls to show or delete prompts.

Maximum saved prompts: 20 teleprompters.

Audience visibility: Streamlabs says the prompt is for the presenter only and is not included in the stream or recording. Cohosts can use their own teleprompters at the same time.
These limits and visibility details are documented in Streamlabs’ teleprompter guide. If a script exceeds 2,000 characters, divide it into multiple saved prompts and show them one at a time; this works with the documented prompt limit and ability to save multiple prompts.

Do you need a webcam or physical teleprompter?
No separate physical teleprompter is documented as necessary: the feature is built into Talk Studio. A webcam is an optional camera input if you want to appear on screen, not a requirement for displaying the prompt. Talk Studio’s setup guide covers selecting a webcam or video input and granting browser access to the camera and microphone. If access is blocked, use the browser’s lock or settings icon to adjust permissions, then refresh if needed.
