To upgrade efficiently in Solo Leveling: Arise, build around the Hunters and weapons you actively use, check each system’s unlocks and displayed costs, and avoid spending heavily on equipment before you know it fits your team. Crafting, individual weapon growth, artifact upgrades, and Jinwoo’s Armory are separate systems; none has one universally best priority for every account.
Choose what to upgrade before spending materials
Start with the team you rely on for current progression, then consider which weapon and artifacts actually support those Hunters. Artifacts can be equipped by Sung Jinwoo and other Hunters, and matching pieces from a set provide additional effects. That makes a useful set and suitable base stats a sensible foundation before committing deeply to late enhancement tiers or repeated substat work. This is a cautious resource rule based on how the systems work, not a guaranteed best build for every roster.

- Check the item’s eligibility, recipe, material requirements, and Gold cost in the live interface before confirming.
- Lock artifacts you want to keep so they are not accidentally used as materials.
- Use current in-game requirements and rewards to guide spending: the official guides describe system structure, but do not establish a universal upgrade order, total material budget, or best farming route for every account.
Craft weapons and Hunter enhancement materials
Crafting is a direct way to turn available materials and Gold into eligible items. Netmarble’s Craft guide says the system unlocks when Sung Jinwoo reaches level 7. It can make weapons for Jinwoo and Hunter Enhancement Materials, but some Hunter weapons and other items cannot be crafted.

- Go to Menu → Workshop → Craft, or use Lobby → Management (NPC May) → Craft.
- Select the item you want and inspect its information, available craft count, required materials, and Gold.
- Confirm only if the displayed cost and item suit your current needs. Crafting does not fail, but it spends the selected materials and Gold when the item is made.
Do not assume a particular Hunter weapon is craftable: availability varies by item. The official guide does not name a single recipe or material-farming route as best for all players, so use the recipe shown in your game rather than relying on a fixed generic priority.

Keep individual weapon growth separate from the Armory
Crafting and improving an individual weapon are not the same as Jinwoo’s Armory. The Armory is a separate power layer that unlocks at Sung Jinwoo level 30. It uses owned Sung Jinwoo Exclusive Weapons registered to unlocked slots; a share of each registered weapon’s Total Power contributes to Armory power. The official Armory guide says Armory Total Power contributes in combat and squad formation.
Register weapons and enhance slots
- Register eligible owned Jinwoo Exclusive Weapons in unlocked Armory slots, checking the in-game slot requirements.
- Enhance slots using Marks of Time if you choose to invest in this system.
- Decide based on your roster and the displayed requirements. The guide explains the system but does not establish which slot every account should enhance first.
Understand artifact unlocks and set effects
Artifact access begins after Chapter 5, Episode 1. Necklaces and bracelets open after Chapter 9; rings and earrings open after Chapter 12. Jinwoo and other Hunters can equip artifacts, while matching pieces from a set grant additional effects. The Netmarble Artifacts guide also explains that artifacts can be locked to protect them from accidental material use.

What each artifact upgrade does
Enhancement raises stats in tiers
Enhancement increases artifact stats. At +5, +10, +15, and +20, an additional supporting stat is added; on other successful steps, a random existing supporting stat increases. Each failed enhancement raises the bonus rate by 1 percentage point, and that accumulated bonus resets after a success.

Enchantment targets a chosen substat
Enchantment lets you select a substat to improve, but the resulting bonus value is random within the displayed range and costs materials and Gold. If a new result is not higher than the existing substat, the guide says it is not saved. Continuous Enchantment can repeat until that substat reaches its maximum. Check the interface before using it so you understand the cost and the outcome rule for the item.

Reforging changes stats while preserving some progress
Eligible Heroic–Legendary artifacts above the required level can be reforged once per artifact; event artifacts are excluded. Reforging can increase stats, and its interface previews new stats, equipment score, and material costs before confirmation. It preserves the artifact’s enhancement tier and enchantment stats, and it does not change the artifact effect type. Confirm eligibility and displayed costs in-game rather than assuming every artifact can be reforged.
Use live requirements for account-specific decisions
Netmarble’s Craft, Artifacts, and Armory guides explain the systems, but warn that their content may change. Their retrieved text does not show publication or revision dates. For that reason, treat unlock descriptions and mechanics as a map, then rely on the live interface for current quantities, eligibility, rates, and rewards. A historical November 28, 2024 update announcement confirms the introduction of artifact Enchantment growth; it is not a source for current costs.
