If you prefer not to turn him human, feed him the werewolf meat looted from him earlier; that lifts the curse and kills him as a werewolf.

The XP figures and item details above are walkthrough-reported outcomes, not official game documentation. Witcher.tools lists up to 265 XP and 85 crowns across the quest, with XP dependent on the choices made; treat that as its walkthrough accounting rather than a guaranteed total for every quest state or game version. The priestesses’ reward is listed as 85 crowns and 50 XP.

How to take the fang route without missing the clue
- Start “In Wolf’s Clothing” in Skellige and investigate Freya’s Garden. If you attack Morkvarg during an early encounter, loot his body and keep the werewolf meat if you may want to use that method later; a normal kill does not end the curse permanently.
- Read Morkvarg’s journal and speak with Einar in Larvik. Hear Einar explain the role of his father’s rune-carved wolf fang. Do not kill Einar before getting that explanation: the walkthroughs say the fang route depends on learning its purpose from him.
- Return to Morkvarg after another encounter. Give him Toradar’s fang to lift the curse. Once he turns human, ask about the reward before deciding what to do next.
- Follow the Novigrad lead. Visit the moneylender named in the clue to collect the treasure. You do not have to let Morkvarg live in order to learn where it is.
- Choose his fate, then finish the remaining quest objective. You can kill him after the reward conversation, and return to the priestesses in Lofoten for their reward if the quest objective remains.
When the werewolf-meat option makes sense
Use this route if you have already looted Morkvarg’s werewolf meat and want to end the curse without restoring him to human form. Feed him his own meat when the dialogue option appears; the curse is lifted and he dies as a werewolf. This avoids the Einar-and-fang sequence, but it is not the route to the Novigrad reward clue described above.

Why an ordinary kill is not enough
Morkvarg’s curse brings him back after a regular kill, so killing him in an early encounter is not the same as resolving “In Wolf’s Clothing.” Looting his body at that point is useful because the meat can later trigger the werewolf-meat resolution.

Which route should you choose?
- Want the treasure and the option to kill him? Learn the fang’s function from Einar, cure Morkvarg with the fang, ask for the reward clue, collect the treasure, then kill him if you choose.
- Want to end the curse without making him human? Feed him his own werewolf meat, provided you looted it earlier.
- Want to spare him? The fang route allows you to get the reward information and let him go; Witcher.tools lists 80 XP for that outcome.
