You need both consoles online and close together, with the same Nintendo Account linked to the relevant users. Nintendo Switch Online is not required for this transfer. It moves the save rather than making a copy: sending deletes it from the source console, and receiving over an existing target save can permanently overwrite that save.
Transfer a save from another Switch-family console
Nintendo’s system-level transfer applies to compatible software. The game is listed for Nintendo Switch 2, but official information cited here does not specifically confirm that its Switch and Switch 2 editions share saves. Preserve any existing save on the target before proceeding, and do not accept an overwrite unless you intend to replace it.

Before you begin
- Connect both consoles to the internet and place them near each other.
- Link the same Nintendo Account to the user on each console.
- Install the latest system update, as Nintendo’s transfer directions require.
- Check whether the target console already has a save you want to keep. Nintendo says overwritten save data cannot be recovered.
Send and receive the save
- On the source console, open System Settings > Data Management > Transfer Your Save Data.
- Select Send Save Data to Another Console. If prompted on Switch 2, select the target system type.
- Choose the user and LEGO Batman: Legacy of the Dark Knight save, then select Next and OK.
- On the target console, open System Settings > Data Management > Transfer Your Save Data > Receive Save Data.
- Follow the prompts, confirm the transfer, and then start the game on the target console.
Nintendo’s procedure removes the save from the source after sending; it does not create a second copy. If the target has an existing save, stop and decide whether to cancel or replace it. Nintendo warns that an overwritten save cannot be recovered. See Nintendo Support’s save-transfer instructions.

Nearby transfer and cloud saves are different
Nintendo Australia’s game listing marks Save Data Cloud as supported and says a paid Nintendo Switch Online membership is required to use cloud saves. Cloud backup may help restore a cloud-backed save to a compatible Switch 2 user and account; it is not evidence that a save can be imported from PC, PlayStation, or Xbox. Check your local Nintendo listing and the console’s save-data settings because regional service terms can differ.

Can you transfer a PS5, Xbox, or PC save to Switch 2?
That is not confirmed by the official material cited here. WB Games lists versions for PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, Nintendo Switch 2, and PC, but its FAQ does not establish that progress transfers or synchronizes between those platforms. Linking a WB Games account is not proof that saves sync. If you are changing platform families, ask WB Games Support whether cross-platform save migration is supported before relying on it.

Is Switch-to-Switch 2 save sharing confirmed for this game?
Nintendo provides nearby transfer for compatible software, but the cited official game information does not specifically confirm cross-generation save sharing for this title. The general transfer steps are not a guarantee that this particular save will be accepted by both editions. Check the game’s support information, and protect any existing target save before testing: the transfer can remove the source save or overwrite the target.
