For the 12 armor sets covered in the base-game guide, unlocks come from the opening of Atsu’s story, a Grasslands encounter, a bounty, and named quests. That is not a complete catalog of every outfit now available: New Game+, Most Wanted, and the Echoes of Sekigahara expansion add further cosmetics, and published official sources do not list every item or its individual unlock route.
In Ghost of Yōtei, “outfit” can mean a stat-bearing armor set or simply the look Atsu wears. Since an October 2026 update lets you display one set while using another set’s stats, the two goals—earning a set and wearing its appearance—can be handled separately.

How to unlock the 12 base-game armor sets
Push Square’s October 10, 2025 guide covers 12 base-game armor sets. Use the named region and activity below to find each one; armor sets have gameplay effects as well as appearances.

How to get cosmetics after the main story
New Game+
New Game+ becomes available after you finish the main story. It lets you replay with gear earned in the campaign and introduces Ghost Flowers, which you can exchange with a new vendor for more than 30 cosmetics, including new armor sets and weapon dyes. Sucker Punch’s announcement confirms the vendor and broad reward pool, but does not enumerate every item or its individual purchase condition: Sucker Punch’s New Game+ and update announcement.
Most Wanted
Most Wanted is a single-player mode of escalating bounties featuring members of the Yōtei Six. You earn Mon during runs and spend it between runs. Cosmetics earned in the mode also unlock in the main game, so you can use them there; the official announcement does not establish a particular outfit’s price or exact task requirement. Echoes of Sekigahara
The Echoes of Sekigahara expansion adds armor sets and cosmetics in Ashoro Foothills, but the official announcement does not provide a complete item list or individual unlock instructions. The Complete Edition bundles the expansion and Most Wanted. A limited early unlock for Sakai Armor was tied to purchases or preorders made by September 30, 2026; that offer has passed. How to use an armor look with different stats
An October 2026 patch added an option to retain one armor set’s appearance while using another set’s stats. This means you do not have to equip a set for its gameplay effects just to display its look. First unlock the set whose appearance you want; then use the appearance-and-stats option to pair that look with the armor build you prefer. The update is described in Sucker Punch’s update announcement.

What “every outfit” includes—and what is confirmed
The 12-set figure applies to the base-game armor list in Push Square’s 2025 guide, not to every current outfit, dye, or cosmetic. New Game+, Most Wanted, and Echoes of Sekigahara expand the available cosmetics, but their official announcements do not provide a complete current catalog with item-by-item unlock routes. The base-game routes above are therefore the specific unlock instructions available here; the post-launch information identifies the systems and expansion that add cosmetics without implying a total outfit count.
