Break and Steal an Egg currently has 11 trails. White is the entry point, while Moonlight is the highest trail currently listed. The sequence is progressive: each later trail costs substantially more and supplies a larger treadmill multiplier.
Step-by-step: buy and activate a trail
1. Build cash through the normal steal loop
Start with treadmill training, then travel to a zone containing an egg. Use your pickaxe to break the egg, press E to steal the animal, escape the guardian, and return the animal to your base. Animals placed in your base provide the cash stream used for later purchases. A failed escape or an egg that takes too long to break reduces the number of successful runs you can complete, so improve those parts of the loop when they are slowing you down.
2. Return to the Safe Zone
Go back to the Safe Zone and locate the Trails Shop. It is beside the Leaderboards on the right side of spawn. This is the shop used for the trail ladder; you do not buy trails from the egg zones.
3. Buy the highest affordable tier
Open the shop and purchase the strongest trail your current cash balance can cover. If you are short of the next tier, keep completing successful steals and collecting the animals in your base rather than spending the money on a lower-value side upgrade without a clear reason.

4. Equip the trail from the equipment menu
After the purchase, open the trail equipment interface, select the newly owned trail and confirm the equip action. Ownership and activation are separate: an item can appear in your collection while another trail remains active.
5. Test it on the treadmill
Train on the treadmill after equipping the trail and check that your Speed gain reflects the selected tier. Do this verification immediately after a purchase so you do not spend a long farming session with an older trail still active.
How to plan the progression ladder
Early game: White through Green
The first three tiers are designed to get a new account moving quickly. White is the practical first purchase because its cost is low relative to the rest of the ladder. Blue and Green then provide successive improvements while you establish a reliable egg-stealing route, learn guardian escape timing and build a base full of animals.

Mid game: Purple through Golden
Purple, Red and Golden form the middle of the ladder. Their multipliers make treadmill sessions more productive, but the cash requirements also mean that each purchase should be treated as a farming milestone. Before saving for one of these tiers, make sure your current route is repeatable: you can break the target egg, press E without delay, escape the guardian and bank the animal consistently.
Buying the next trail immediately after reaching its price is usually more efficient than hoarding cash, because the multiplier accelerates subsequent treadmill training. The exception is a run where another weakness, such as failed escapes or insufficient carrying capacity, is preventing you from converting training into successful steals.
High progression: Rainbow and Galactic
Rainbow and Galactic mark the point where cash farming becomes the main time commitment. Use the treadmill to build Speed, then spend that advantage on a route that yields dependable animal income. Avoid switching to a more dangerous zone solely because it has a higher theoretical reward if guardian escapes are unreliable; a lower-risk route that you complete repeatedly can produce cash faster in practice.

The jump from Secret to Laser is the largest price hurdle in the current sequence. Plan for a long farming period rather than treating it as a purchase you can make after one or two runs. Once Laser is owned, Moonlight remains the final listed target and requires another major cash reserve.

At these tiers, check your complete run rather than focusing only on treadmill Speed. If egg-breaking time, carrying capacity or escape reliability is the part that limits completed runs, address that constraint before assuming another trail alone will improve income.

Why your trail is not increasing Speed
The trail was purchased but not equipped
This is the most common explanation. Buying records ownership; it does not automatically replace the trail currently in use. Open the trail equipment menu, choose the purchased tier and confirm that it is marked active before returning to the treadmill.

You tested the wrong activity
The reported trail effect is a treadmill Speed multiplier. It should not be used as a measure of pickaxe swing time or egg-breaking speed. Compare the result during treadmill training, then evaluate the pickaxe separately during an egg run.
The selected trail is lower than expected
Owned trails can be switched, so the equipment menu may still have an earlier tier selected. Check the active selection rather than relying on the fact that a newer trail appears in your collection.
The displayed values differ from the table
Trail prices, multipliers and shop contents are update-sensitive. The figures in this guide describe the current 2026 tables; a later game update can change a value or add a tier. When the in-game shop and an older guide disagree, treat the live shop as the value to verify before spending your cash.

Permanent ownership and switching between trails
Current guidance reports that buying a trail unlocks it permanently. Once a tier is owned, you can change back to it later from the equipment menu without buying it again. This lets you test a lower tier for a specific route or switch to a preferred visual trail without losing the progress represented by the higher purchase.
The permanent-unlock behavior also changes how you should budget: you are paying to add a tier to your collection, not renting a temporary boost. The important post-purchase action is therefore equipping the tier you want to use before training.
A practical checklist for every upgrade
- Confirm the target trail and its current in-game cash price.
- Complete enough egg steals to cover the purchase without risking the cash needed for your normal route.
- Return to the Safe Zone and walk to the Trails Shop beside the Leaderboards.
- Buy the tier and verify that it appears as owned.
- Open the trail equipment menu and equip it.
- Run one treadmill session to confirm the new Speed effect.
- For the next farming cycle, decide whether the remaining bottleneck is treadmill Speed, egg breaking, carrying capacity or escape reliability.

Farm cash through successful egg steals and animals in your base, buy the highest tier you can afford at the Safe Zone Trails Shop, and equip it before treadmill training. Follow the 11-tier ladder from White to Moonlight, but do not confuse a treadmill multiplier with a pickaxe or escape upgrade.
