After the DLC entitlement is recognized, Arjun appears on the roster. His Outfit 2 is earned by filling his master acquisition gauge in Avatar Arcade or by buying it with Fighter Coins.
What you need before buying Arjun
Arjun is downloadable content, not a free character included with every copy of Street Fighter 6. The base game is a prerequisite: Nintendo’s official listing explicitly says the Arjun add-on “requires” Street Fighter 6 and unlocks the additional character. Install and launch the game on a platform supported by your edition before troubleshooting the character entitlement.

- Base requirement: an owned and installed copy of Street Fighter 6.
- Character entitlement: the Year 4 Character Pass, Year 4 Ultimate Pass, or Arjun purchased individually with Fighter Coins.
- Online account and storefront: the DLC must be bought for the same platform account and game region that runs Street Fighter 6.
The official material does not publish one universal price for every region, storefront, currency, or edition. Check the store attached to your platform for the current Fighter Coins and pass prices rather than relying on an old screenshot or a price from another country.

#1 Best Overall
- Classic Experience Built for a Modern Era: With all core gameplay modes present, plus two brand new modes and enhanced visuals, Street Fighter 6 redefines the classic fighting game genre.
- Distinct Fighting Styles to Master: 18 diverse characters including legendary World Warriors and exciting brand new characters add their own flair to the game at launch, with more to be added post-launch.
- Brand New Game Modes: The Street Fighter franchise continues to hone its skills and redefine the fighting genre with the introduction of three new foundational modes – Fighting Ground, World Tour and Battle Hub.
- In-Game Commentating: Street Fighter’s first-ever Real-Time Commentary Feature, supported with subtitles in 13 languages, incorporates the voices of popular Fighting Game Community (FGC) commentators like Vicious and Aru directly into the game to narrate what is happening on-screen just like a real tournament.
- Two New Control Schemes: Classic Controls returns alongside two brand new options: Modern Controls allow you to perform special attacks with simple button combinations and are designed for players who want to fight without memorizing and practicing special move button combinations first. Dynamic Controls only require a press of the Auto-Attack button to perform attacks and is a great control type to use when you have friends and family over for a quick, casual game.
Unlock Arjun step by step
- Confirm that Street Fighter 6 is installed. The Arjun add-on cannot be used as a standalone game. Open the platform account that owns the base game and install any pending game or DLC updates.
- Choose one entitlement. Buy or redeem the Year 4 Character Pass, buy or redeem the Year 4 Ultimate Pass, or purchase enough Fighter Coins for Arjun individually. Do not buy both passes simply to unlock one copy of the character.
- Use the same platform account and region. DLC licenses are tied to the account and storefront that processed the transaction. A purchase made on a different account may not appear in your roster.
- Restart Street Fighter 6 after the transaction. Allow the game to finish checking downloadable content. If the platform has a separate “restore licenses” or “manage game content” function, use that platform’s normal license-recovery procedure.
- Check the character roster. Once the entitlement is recognized, select Arjun from the fighter list. The official announcements establish that he is available as a playable character, but they do not publish one identical menu path for every platform.
If Arjun is still locked
- Verify that the transaction completed rather than remaining pending or refunded.
- Check that you launched the same regional edition of Street Fighter 6 associated with the purchase.
- Close and reopen the game after the store finishes downloading the add-on.
- Confirm that you bought the Year 4 Character Pass or Year 4 Ultimate Pass, not a different season pass.
- If you used Fighter Coins, verify that the coin balance was charged and that the individual Arjun entitlement was completed.
- Use the platform holder’s license-restoration or add-on-management tools before contacting support.
Do not assume that a pass purchase failed merely because Arjun’s tile initially shows a lock. The game may need to refresh the license after the store transaction and a restart.
Where Arjun can be used
Capcom identifies Fighting Ground and Battle Hub as places where Arjun appears. His Arcade story is available in Fighting Ground. That gives you two useful starting points: use Fighting Ground to learn his moves and play his character story, then take the same tools into Battle Hub when you want live matches and social play.
- Fighting Ground: practice his specials, review how his traps behave, and access his Arcade story.
- Battle Hub: use Arjun in the hub’s supported match activities after his DLC entitlement is active.
The announcements do not state that every mode supports him identically, so check the mode’s roster when a particular activity does not show downloadable characters.

Arjun is designed around power and preparation rather than constant movement. Capcom describes him as sacrificing speed for powerful attacks that can inflict recoverable damage even when blocked. His game plan combines that pressure with projectiles and traps, forcing the opponent to decide whether to move, block, wait, or challenge a setup.
That makes him a slow setup character. You are not trying to win every exchange by racing forward. You are trying to establish a position in which the opponent must respect a projectile height, a delayed pillar, a counter stance, or a threat that converts recoverable damage into normal damage.
1. Breathing Ring and Breathing Shockwave: control the air lane
Breathing Ring creates an air ring, while Breathing Shockwave launches it at different heights. The height choice changes the opponent’s response: a lower trajectory can ask a different blocking or movement question than a higher one. Treat the two moves as a spacing tool rather than a single fixed projectile.
- Use the ring at different heights so the opponent cannot answer every attempt with one automatic response.
- Watch whether the opponent blocks, jumps, walks backward, or tries to interrupt before choosing the next height.
- Use the projectile to make room for your slower approach instead of throwing it with no plan for what happens afterward.
The important skill is height control. Arjun’s projectile is valuable because the launch angle changes the defensive problem, not because every version has the same timing.

Pick the symptom - the matching free tool is one click away.
2. Divine Pillar: choose distance and delay
Divine Pillar summons a ground pillar. Its attack strength changes how far away it appears, and holding the button delays activation. This gives Arjun two independent setup decisions: where the hazard will occur and when it will become active.
- Choose the strength that places the pillar near the space the opponent wants to occupy.
- Use the held version when an immediate activation would be predictable.
- Place the pillar before committing to a slow attack so the opponent must account for the hazard while defending.
Because the distance varies with attack strength, avoid treating Divine Pillar as a single memorized setup. Learn which strength reaches the near, middle, or farther space in your own practice sessions.
3. Cruel Shoulder into Justice Beyond
Cruel Shoulder interacts with an active Divine Pillar. When the shoulder makes contact with an active pillar, Arjun can grab and swing that pillar in any direction with Justice Beyond. This is the central interaction between two of his signature tools: the pillar is first a delayed ground hazard, then a movable object that can be redirected.

- Summon Divine Pillar at a distance and timing you can reach.
- Wait for it to become active, including any delay created by holding the button.
- Use Cruel Shoulder to make contact with the active pillar.
- Follow with Justice Beyond and direct the swing toward the space the opponent is trying to escape into.
Practice the timing without adding other attacks first. If the pillar is not active, the shoulder cannot produce the same interaction; if the pillar is too far away, the shoulder will not connect with it.

Fix the driver behind crashes, sound loss and screen glitchesFind Drivers →Clear out junk files and repair common Windows errorsFree Scan →4. Ghastly Interrogation: turn recoverable damage into a real threat
Ghastly Interrogation is a special throw. Under normal conditions it inflicts recoverable damage. If the opponent already has recoverable damage, the move instead inflicts normal damage. This gives the throw a clear condition: it becomes more valuable after you have created gray, recoverable damage with Arjun’s pressure.
Do not treat Ghastly Interrogation as an isolated opening tool. First make the opponent block or absorb a sequence that creates recoverable damage, then look for the throw when they begin defending passively.
5. Indomitable Defence into Moral Breakdown
Indomitable Defence turns incoming melee attacks into a recoverable-damage counter. Moral Breakdown follows with forward punches, and those punches convert to normal damage on hit. The sequence rewards reading a close-range attack rather than pressing it at random.
- Use Indomitable Defence when you expect a melee strike, not against every possible option.
- After the counter succeeds, use Moral Breakdown to capitalize on the opening.
- Remember that the follow-up’s damage changes on hit: it converts to normal damage instead of remaining entirely recoverable.
This gives Arjun a defensive answer that fits his wider plan: absorb the opponent’s attempt to challenge his setup, then make the successful read matter.
6. Super Arts
| Super Art | Level | Documented role |
|---|---|---|
| Howling Destruction | Level 1 | Arjun’s Level 1 Super Art |
| Instant Oblivion | Level 2 | Creates space to prepare Divine Pillar |
| Yaksha’s Order | Level 3 | Arjun’s Level 3 Super Art |
Instant Oblivion is the most explicitly setup-oriented of the three: its documented purpose is to create space for Divine Pillar. That makes it the natural Super Art to study alongside your pillar timing rather than learning it as a disconnected cinematic attack.
A practical learning order
The following sequence is an editorial learning recommendation based on how Capcom describes the moves. It is not a claim that one route is the only optimal tournament strategy.
Session 1: make Breathing Ring predictable for you, not for the opponent
- Practice launching the ring at each available height.
- Repeat the same height until the timing feels consistent.
- Alternate heights without changing your position so you can see how the projectile changes the opponent’s response.
- Record which height gives you enough time to advance or defend afterward.
Session 2: map Divine Pillar’s distance and delay
- Test each attack strength and note where the pillar appears.
- Hold the button and compare immediate activation with delayed activation.
- Place the pillar at near, mid, and far ranges against a stationary opponent.
- Repeat while moving so you learn whether you can reach the active pillar with Cruel Shoulder.
Session 3: connect the pillar to Justice Beyond
- Set a pillar at a reachable distance.
- Wait for activation.
- Use Cruel Shoulder and confirm that contact occurs with the active pillar.
- Add Justice Beyond and practice directing the swing toward different escape routes.
Session 4: add the opponent’s decisions
- Alternate Breathing Ring heights.
- Delay some Divine Pillars and activate others immediately.
- Use Ghastly Interrogation after recoverable-damage pressure.
- Use Indomitable Defence only after recording a believable melee attack.
- Spend time with Instant Oblivion, then immediately practice creating space and preparing Divine Pillar.
This order starts with the simplest variable, projectile height, before adding the two-variable pillar system and then the Cruel Shoulder interaction. It keeps the practice goal visible instead of asking you to learn every special at once.
Independent reader supportYour contribution helps us test, update, and keep practical guides available for everyone.Understanding Arjun’s recoverable-damage pressure
Recoverable damage is the thread connecting several of Arjun’s tools. His heavy attacks can inflict it even when blocked; Ghastly Interrogation deals normal damage when the opponent already has recoverable damage; and Indomitable Defence produces a counter whose damage is recoverable before Moral Breakdown converts its successful hit to normal damage.
In practical terms, Arjun wants the opponent to make defensive choices while carrying a recoverable-damage threat. Blocking is not always a clean reset against him, because the blocked pressure can leave a resource for his throw or counter interaction to exploit. Your goal is to build a sequence in which the opponent must choose between continuing to defend, moving away from a pillar, challenging your setup, or risking the special throw.

Do not assume that every blocked attack automatically wins the exchange. Arjun sacrifices speed, so a careless pressure attempt can be interrupted or avoided before the setup is established. His strength appears after you have selected a useful distance, created a projectile or pillar problem, and made the opponent respect the next decision.
Unlocking Outfit 2
Arjun’s Outfit 2 has two documented unlock routes:
- Gameplay route: fill the master acquisition gauge in Avatar Arcade.
- Purchase route: spend Fighter Coins to obtain the outfit.
The Avatar Arcade route requires progressing the relevant master acquisition gauge rather than simply owning the character. The Fighter Coins route is faster when you prefer a direct purchase, but the official material does not state a universal coin amount or regional currency price. Check the in-game store for the current requirement.
Recommended Free Tools
Arjun’s Outfit 2 is separate from the entitlement that unlocks the playable character. Buying or earning the outfit does not replace the need to own Street Fighter 6 and obtain Arjun through a pass or individual Fighter Coins purchase.
Arjun’s Arcade story
Capcom’s Japanese launch release says Arjun’s Arcade story was added in Fighting Ground. Once the character is available, open Fighting Ground and select the Arcade content associated with him. This is also a useful way to become familiar with his presentation before taking the character into Battle Hub.
Choosing the right purchase route
Buy the Character Pass when you want multiple fighters
The Year 4 Character Pass is the straightforward choice if Arjun is one of several Year 4 characters you expect to play. Compare the pass’s current listing with the cost of buying only the characters you actually want. The exact total depends on your region and the content listed for your edition.
Buy the Ultimate Pass when you want the complete package
The Year 4 Ultimate Pass is aimed at players who want Arjun together with the broader Year 4 package and its listed extras. Read the store description carefully so you know which additional content is included; the official material supplied for this guide does not establish one identical bonus list or price for every storefront.
Buy Arjun individually when he is the only priority
An individual Fighter Coins purchase avoids paying for a pass whose other characters you may never use. It is the cleanest route when your goal is specifically to practice Arjun, play his Arcade story, and earn his Outfit 2 without collecting the rest of Year 4.
Common mistakes to avoid
- Buying the DLC without the base game: the add-on requires Street Fighter 6.
- Confusing a pass with the individual character purchase: confirm the item name before checkout.
- Expecting a fast rushdown character: Arjun’s design trades speed for powerful attacks, projectiles, traps, and recoverable-damage pressure.
- Using Divine Pillar without checking distance: attack strength changes where it appears.
- Ignoring the hold timing: holding the Divine Pillar button delays activation, which changes the setup.
- Attempting Justice Beyond before the pillar is active: Cruel Shoulder’s interaction depends on contact with an active pillar.
- Throwing Ghastly Interrogation too early: its damage becomes normal when the opponent already has recoverable damage.
- Using Indomitable Defence without a read: it is a counter for incoming melee attacks, not a universal answer.
- Looking for Outfit 2 in the character-unlock menu: its documented routes are Avatar Arcade’s master acquisition gauge or Fighter Coins.
Quick checklist
- Street Fighter 6 is installed on the account and platform you use.
- You own the Year 4 Character Pass, Year 4 Ultimate Pass, or an individual Arjun Fighter Coins entitlement.
- The game has been restarted after the transaction and the roster shows Arjun.
- You have tested Breathing Ring and Breathing Shockwave at different heights.
- You know how Divine Pillar’s strength changes distance and how holding delays activation.
- You can connect Cruel Shoulder with an active pillar and complete Justice Beyond.
- You have practiced Ghastly Interrogation after creating recoverable damage.
- You have tested Indomitable Defence against a melee attack and followed with Moral Breakdown.
- You know that Instant Oblivion creates space for Divine Pillar.
- You have chosen either Avatar Arcade progression or Fighter Coins for Outfit 2.
Capcom’s description of the character
“Grâce à ses techniques de respiration yoga, Arjun est un véritable colosse qui sacrifie sa vitesse au profit de puissantes attaques capables d’infliger des dégâts récupérables à son adversaire, même lorsqu’elles sont bloquées.”
In English, Capcom’s description says that Arjun’s yoga-breathing techniques make him a colossus who sacrifices speed for powerful attacks capable of causing recoverable damage even when blocked. That sentence captures the practical choice facing a new Arjun player: accept slower movement, then use height-changing projectiles, delayed hazards, counters, and recoverable-damage conversions to make each defensive decision costly.
