Neat Video’s v6 example is /Applications/Neat Video v6 for <HostName>/; the folder name can differ by version and host.
Use Neat Video’s uninstaller
- Quit your video-editing host. Close the application that loads the Neat Video plug-in, such as your editing or effects application.
- Find the matching Neat Video folder. In Finder, open Applications and look for the folder for your installed Neat Video release and host. Neat Video’s FAQ gives this v6 example:
/Applications/Neat Video v6 for <HostName>/. Replace<HostName>with the relevant host; this example is not a universal path for every version or installation. Neat Video FAQ - Run
Uninstall.app. Open the folder and follow the uninstaller’s on-screen prompts. - Check the host application. Reopen it and confirm that Neat Video is no longer available as a plug-in.
If the uninstaller is missing
First check which Neat Video version and host you installed, since the folder name depends on both. Apple’s general guidance for third-party apps is to use the app’s supplied uninstaller when available; if it is not, move the app to the Trash. Apple Support: Delete or uninstall apps on Mac

Do not remove plug-in, support, preference, cache, or license folders based on a guessed location. The official guidance cited here does not establish a universal list of Neat Video leftovers across releases and hosts. If you use Finder removal, moving an item to the Trash does not permanently delete it; the deletion becomes permanent when you empty the Trash. What uninstalling does—and does not—remove
Removing the app does not delete documents or other files you created with it, according to Apple. Keep any project files you still need. Uninstalling also does not cancel a subscription associated with the app; handle cancellation separately if that is your goal. Apple Support: Delete or uninstall apps on Mac

Do you need to remove an older release first?
No. Neat Video says an older version does not need to be removed before installing a newer one. Depending on the release, a newer version may replace the earlier one as an update, or coexist with it when it is a new major version. Neat Video FAQ
Neat Video’s download listing showed v6.1.3, dated May 26, 2026, and lists plug-ins for several hosts, including After Effects, Premiere, Final Cut, Resolve, OpenFX-compatible applications, and Media Composer. Its Mac listings cover Apple Silicon and Intel systems running macOS 11.0 or newer. That variety is why you should use the folder and uninstaller associated with your own host and release rather than assume there is one shared installation path. Neat Video downloads
