There is no single uninstall procedure for every app called JEV or Jev. First confirm the exact product, its publisher, how it was installed, and your operating system. The commands below apply only to the okooo5km/jev command-line tool; they are not instructions for Jev Chat Assistant, Jev Browser Control, or TmaxSoft JEUS.
Identify which JEV you have
Before removing files, check the app’s full name and publisher or project name in its About screen, app list, installer, or documentation. Also note your operating system and whether you installed it through a package manager, an app store, a downloaded installer, or a project-specific script. The names are easy to confuse, but the products do not share a universal uninstaller.

- Jev Browser Control: a separate browser-control product with its own documentation: Jev Browser Control documentation.
- TmaxSoft JEUS: a Java application server, not the JEV CLI. The Windows instructions below are specifically for JEUS 9.1.
If the name or installation source does not match one of these, do not use the CLI commands as a guess. Find the uninstaller or removal instructions for the exact product and platform.

The project README specifies these locations for its CLI: the executable at ~/.local/bin/jev, data under ${XDG_DATA_HOME:-$HOME/.local/share}/jev, and optional configuration under ${XDG_CONFIG_HOME:-$HOME/.config}/jev. Removing the configuration directory also removes the key and custom specs, so inspect or back it up first if you may need them.

1. Check where your XDG directories point
The XDG variables in the paths mean the data and configuration directories may not be under the default locations. In a shell, check them before deleting anything:

If either value is blank or unset, the README’s defaults are $HOME/.local/share for data and $HOME/.config for configuration. If a variable has a value, use that directory instead. Review the target paths and their contents before removal.

2. Remove the executable and data
After confirming the paths, remove the CLI executable and its data directory:

The second command removes the project’s data directory. Do not run it if you have files there you want to keep; copy them elsewhere first.

3. Remove configuration only if you no longer need it
Configuration removal is optional. The README says the directory contains the key and custom specs, so preserve anything needed before running:

These are project-specific paths, not a general-purpose JEV cleanup recipe. If a command reports that a path does not exist, verify the product and resolved directory rather than broadening the deletion to a parent folder.

What to do if you meant another product
Jev Chat Assistant or Jev Browser Control
Use the project documentation for the exact platform version and installation method. The available project pages distinguish these products but do not establish a single cross-platform set of removal steps; do not apply okooo5km/jev paths to them.
TmaxSoft JEUS 9.1 on Windows
If the software is actually JEUS 9.1, follow TmaxSoft’s official Windows uninstall instructions: stop the JEUS programs, then run the uninstaller from the JEUS home directory’s UninstallerDataJEUS9 folder or from the Start menu. The vendor warns that files created after installation are not automatically removed. After uninstalling, check for remaining files, shortcuts, environment variables, and PATH entries, and remove only leftovers you can confidently identify as belonging to JEUS.
Platform and installer limits for the CLI
The okooo5km/jev README describes installation for macOS and Linux, labels Windows untested, and recommends using WSL on Windows. It also says its installer does not edit shell profile files and does not require sudo; those statements concern that project’s installer and do not guarantee anything about other JEV software or every installation method. If you installed the CLI in WSL, run the removal steps in the Linux environment where it was installed.
