There is no documented in-game switch that turns off sexual content in Persona 3 Reload, Persona 4 Golden, or Persona 5 Royal. Their sexual themes, references, and instances of partial nudity are included in the versions rated by the Entertainment Software Rating Board (ESRB). PlayStation, Xbox, and Nintendo Switch parental controls can restrict access to a mature-rated game, but they cannot remove selected scenes. On PC, an unofficial Persona 5 Royal mod can reduce some visual nudity; it is not a complete filter and does not cover every sexual reference or theme.

If you need a Persona game with sexual material completely removed, none of the three modern versions covered here provides an official way to do that. You have three practical choices:

What each game is rated to contain
The ESRB rating summaries identify sexual material as one part of each game’s overall mature package. The wording below describes what the rating authority says, not a guarantee that every player will encounter each item at the same frequency.

These ratings also matter because blocking only nudity would not remove sexual jokes, conversations, demon descriptions, suggestive enemy designs, or mature themes. Conversely, removing a visual asset would not change the game’s M rating, which also covers violence, language, and other descriptors.
Why the games do not offer a censor setting
In all three titles, the mature material is authored as part of the narrative, character designs, enemy designs, dialogue, and bestiary descriptions. It is not delivered as an optional downloadable pack or a separately enabled adult mode. The published rating summaries therefore describe the content in the standard game package rather than a removable feature.
Menus such as difficulty, battle assistance, subtitle options, camera settings, and accessibility controls do not function as sexual-content filters. Changing difficulty or turning off particular display effects cannot be relied on to remove sexual references or suggestive designs.
What you can do on PlayStation, Xbox, and Nintendo Switch
1. Check the exact edition before buying
Read the rating summary for the specific title and platform edition. Persona 5 Royal, for example, is a different product from the original Persona 5; confirm that the page or package you are considering is the one your player will use. The ESRB descriptors listed above apply to the rated releases identified in those summaries.
2. Restrict the child account rather than the scenes
Each major console family provides a family-management or parental-control area where an adult can limit games by age rating, require approval, or prevent a child account from launching a restricted title. The names and menu locations vary by console, operating-system version, and account region, so open the platform’s current family or parental settings and select the option for game-rating restrictions.

Set the restriction on the child’s account, not only on the console’s guest profile. Use a passcode or account credential that the child does not know, and test the restriction from the child profile before handing over the device.
3. Understand the limitation
A rating restriction normally blocks the whole game. It does not scan a scene, hide a demon model, mute a line of dialogue, or permit the rest of the game while removing sexual material. If the account is allowed to launch the game, the sexual content remains part of the package.

On a shared console, verify restrictions for every profile that a younger player could use. Also review purchase and download permissions: a child who cannot launch a mature title should not be able to download another edition under an unrestricted profile and then switch accounts. Platform policies and labels change, so confirm the current behavior on your console before relying on it.
What is possible on PC
Persona 5 Royal: an unofficial visual reduction
Persona 5 Royal has a community modding ecosystem on PC. ShrineFox’s documentation explains that the PC and Switch ports are commonly modded and that PC users generally load mods with Reloaded-II. A GameBanana project called Less Nudity is described as a mod for Persona 5 Royal on PC; its listing says it removes most nudity and can be customized.
This is a visual change, not a complete sexual-content filter. It does not promise to remove:

The mod is also not an automatic solution for Persona 3 Reload or Persona 4 Golden. Compatibility is title-specific, and a game update can require a mod update or make a previously working modification fail.

Typical PC setup considerations
- Confirm the game and platform. The documented mod approach concerns the PC release of Persona 5 Royal; do not assume that a file for another Persona title is interchangeable.
- Read the current mod documentation. Check the required version of the loader, the supported game build, installation location, and any stated conflicts before downloading files.
- Back up your saves. Keep copies outside the game’s normal save directory so that troubleshooting or a clean reinstall does not remove your progress.
- Install the loader and mod exactly as documented. Reloaded-II and the mod manager handle files differently from a simple texture replacement. Do not rename files or improvise folder paths unless the documentation instructs you to.
- Test from a separate save or a controlled scene. Confirm that the game starts, loads a save, and displays the intended changes before using the setup for a younger player.
- Keep an unmodified fallback. If an update breaks the mod, disable it or return to a clean installation rather than assuming that missing assets have been filtered safely.
Because this is community software, evaluate downloads as you would any third-party executable or archive: use the project’s current files, scan downloads with security software, read reports from other users, and avoid copies whose origin or contents are unclear.
Game-by-game guidance
Persona 3 Reload
There is no documented built-in sexual-content setting. The ESRB summary includes partial nudity, sexual themes, strong language, blood, and violence, with examples including partially exposed breasts and buttocks on female demons, a phallic-shaped creature, and sexual characteristics in demon descriptions.
On a console, the only dependable platform-level choice is to block the M-rated game for the relevant child account. On PC, do not apply a Persona 5 Royal mod and assume it will work; the documented mod ecosystem and the Less Nudity project are specific to Persona 5 Royal.
Persona 4 Golden
There is no documented sexual-content filter. Its M rating includes alcohol reference, language, mild blood, partial nudity, sexual themes, and violence. The rating summary specifically mentions exposed breasts and buttocks, a phallic-shaped creature, a gyrating pole-dancer enemy, and sexual descriptions for succubus and incubus demons.

If a younger player must avoid those elements, use the console or account restriction that blocks the mature title, or select another game. No official menu option is documented for keeping the investigation and role-playing systems while removing only the sexual material.
Persona 5 Royal
There is no official in-game switch. The ESRB rating covers blood, drug reference, partial nudity, sexual themes, strong language, and violence, and its summary mentions exposed breasts, phallic imagery, sexual descriptions for Personas, and sexual references in dialogue.
PC owners have the additional, unofficial Less Nudity option. It can reduce much of the visible nudity, but it cannot be treated as a guarantee that all sexual content is gone. Console players do not get that PC mod through the standard game settings.

Questions to answer before allowing a younger player to start
- Is the player using a child account with an adult-controlled passcode?
- Have you read the rating summary for the exact title and edition?

- If using PC mods, have you checked the loader and mod versions against the installed game build?
- Can you restore a clean installation and recover saves if a mod stops working?
If any answer is no and complete avoidance is important, blocking the game or selecting another title is safer than relying on a partial visual modification.

Mistake: treating an M rating as a removable content pack
The ESRB descriptors apply to the game as rated. There is no documented separate “adult content” download that can be left uninstalled.

Mistake: assuming a family setting edits the game
Family controls decide who may launch or purchase a game. They do not rewrite its dialogue, models, descriptions, or story scenes.
Mistake: calling a nudity mod a complete filter
The Less Nudity project is presented as a visual mod for Persona 5 Royal PC. “Less” does not mean “none,” and the listing does not establish coverage of every sexual theme or reference.
Mistake: transferring a mod between Persona titles
Mod files and loaders are tied to a particular game and release. A change that works in Persona 5 Royal should not be expected to work in Persona 3 Reload or Persona 4 Golden.
Bottom line for parents and players
Persona 3 Reload, Persona 4 Golden, and Persona 5 Royal do not document an official sexual-content toggle. Console parental controls can keep a child account from accessing an M-rated game, but they cannot preserve the game while censoring selected material. A PC mod can reduce some Persona 5 Royal nudity, with setup, compatibility, and coverage limits.
