To stop an app’s Live Activities on your iPhone, go to Settings > Apps > [app] > Live Activities and turn the setting off. This targets that app’s ongoing Lock Screen updates without turning off its other notifications. The option is not available for every app.
Turn off Live Activities for one app
- Open Settings.
- Tap Apps.
- Tap the app whose Live Activities you want to stop.
- Tap Live Activities.
- Turn off the Live Activities control.
The setting applies to the selected app. Live Activities are ongoing app updates shown on the iPhone Lock Screen, such as Maps directions, sports updates or a food delivery order. Apple’s iPhone user guide documents the per-app setting and these examples.

If you can’t find the Live Activities setting
Not every app provides a Live Activities control. Apple notes in its iPhone user guide that the setting may be absent, so there is no universal per-app switch when an app does not offer one.
If your goal is to stop all notifications from that app instead, open Settings > Apps > [app] > Notifications and turn off Allow Notifications. This is broader than disabling Live Activities: it turns off that app’s notifications generally. Apple Support’s notification instructions describe this separate control.

Apple Sports has additional controls
For Apple Sports, you can manage Live Activities for individual teams in the Sports app. You can also open Settings > Apps > Sports > Live Activities to turn the feature off or change its update rate.
