What you can turn off—and what you cannot
Candy Crush uses several kinds of messaging. A seasonal event can produce notifications delivered by the operating system, messages or pop-ups inside the game, and an event panel with its own countdown. These are related but not identical controls.

- Device notifications: banners, sounds, badges, notification-center entries and lock-screen alerts sent by Candy Crush. Android and iPhone can block these for the app.
- In-game event messaging: pop-ups and messages shown while Candy Crush is open. King describes these as notices explaining the event, what to do and which rewards are available. A phone-level notification switch does not remove content displayed inside the game.
- The event itself: a timed activity in Candy Crush. Muting alerts does not automatically cancel the event, remove progress or change its expiry time. Check the timer in the event view if you still want to participate.
The narrowest solution is the in-game Features switch, when the particular event is supported. The broadest is the phone’s per-app switch, which blocks Candy Crush notifications generally rather than only one seasonal feature.
Option 1: use Candy Crush’s in-game Features control
King says that some Candy Crush Saga features can be turned off in the game settings, but also warns that not every feature can be deactivated. Seasonal-event controls therefore appear only for supported features and may not be present for the event currently on your screen.

- Open Candy Crush Saga and wait for the main game screen to load.
- Tap the pink gearwheel to open the game settings.
- Choose Features.
- Look for the seasonal-event feature or an entry that corresponds to the event alerts you want to stop.
- Switch that entry off, then close the settings screen.
This approach limits the change to the listed feature. It is the best choice when you still want other Candy Crush reminders, such as general game notifications, but do not want seasonal-event prompts.
If the event is not listed
A missing entry does not mean you overlooked a hidden master switch. King’s guidance is explicit that only some features can be deactivated. If the event is absent from Features, use the operating-system control described below. That switch is reliable for stopping notifications delivered by Candy Crush, although it also covers other Candy Crush notification categories.
Option 2: turn off Candy Crush notifications on Android
Android’s labels vary by manufacturer, Android release and the phone’s settings app. Google documents the per-app route under notification settings, while some devices place the same controls under Apps or Apps & notifications. The names may differ slightly, but the target is the Candy Crush app’s notification page.

- Open the phone’s Settings app.
- Tap Notifications. If that item is not visible, open Apps or Apps & notifications, then look for notification controls.
- Select Candy Crush from the app list. On some phones you may need to tap App notifications first.
- Turn off the main notification switch for Candy Crush.
- Leave Settings. The change takes effect without uninstalling the game.
On Android, the switch may be presented as Allow notifications, All Candy Crush notifications or a similarly worded control. If you see separate notification categories, disabling the app’s top-level switch is the broadest way to stop every Candy Crush alert. If you prefer a narrower change, turn off only the category associated with events when your phone exposes one; category names are not consistent across devices.

Hide lock-screen content without blocking delivery
If the problem is that event alerts are visible on the lock screen rather than that they arrive at all, Android can change lock-screen presentation. In the phone’s notification settings, choose the lock-screen option that hides notifications or sensitive content. This keeps delivery available in the notification shade while reducing what appears before the phone is unlocked. Use the app-specific Candy Crush controls when your goal is to stop alerts entirely.
Option 3: turn off Candy Crush notifications on iPhone
Current iPhone settings use the app-specific path below. Apple notes that if a Notifications item does not appear for an app, that app may not be able to send notifications on the device.
- Open the Settings app.
- Tap Apps.
- Scroll to and tap Candy Crush.
- Tap Notifications.
- Turn Allow Notifications off.
With Allow Notifications disabled, Candy Crush cannot place normal alerts in Notification Center, on the Lock Screen or as banners. The game remains installed, and your local game data is not removed by this setting.

Apple’s guidance says that an absent Notifications entry can indicate that the app is not able to send notifications. In that case there may be no Candy Crush notification permission to revoke. You can still use the in-game Features control if the event supports it, and you can continue to manage any messages shown inside the game separately by closing or dismissing them.

Choose the in-game setting when you want to mute only a seasonal feature. Choose the device-level switch when any Candy Crush alert is unwanted. Choose lock-screen presentation changes when delivery is acceptable but visible lock-screen interruptions are not.

What happens to a seasonal event after you mute alerts?
King describes special events as limited-time activities and says the game uses pop-ups and messages to explain objectives and rewards. Turning off notifications changes how reminders reach you; it does not, by itself, end the event. The event can remain active until its in-game timer expires.
- Your event access: open Candy Crush and look for the event panel or its timer. Muting the phone does not provide extra time.
- Your progress: a notification permission change is separate from game progress. Do not treat it as a reset or deletion command.
- Event instructions: if you block alerts, read the event’s information inside Candy Crush when you choose to play.
- Rewards and deadlines: the event’s own rules and countdown remain the reference for eligibility and expiry.
King recommends keeping device notifications on when you want updates about limited-time events. If you turn them off, you are choosing fewer reminders, so check the game manually if you still care about a particular deadline.
How to confirm that notifications are really off
Use a short check rather than relying only on memory of which menu you opened.
- Return to the phone’s app notification page and verify that Candy Crush’s main switch is off, or verify that the relevant event category is disabled.
- Lock the phone and wait for a normal notification opportunity, or open the notification shade after using Candy Crush. There should be no newly delivered Candy Crush alert while the switch is disabled.
- Open Candy Crush itself. If an event card or pop-up appears in the game, that is in-game content, not proof that the phone-level block failed.
- If you used the in-game Features switch, revisit gearwheel > Features and confirm that the event entry remains off.
A notification already delivered before you changed the setting can remain in Notification Center or the notification shade until you dismiss it. Clear that existing item separately; clearing it does not change the permission switch.

Troubleshooting when alerts continue
The event switch is missing
That is expected for unsupported features. King says not all features can be deactivated. Use Android or iPhone’s app-level notification control instead.
Android menu names do not match
Use Settings search for Notifications, then search within the settings for Candy Crush. If your phone routes app permissions through Apps or Apps & notifications, open Candy Crush there and locate its notification page. Manufacturer skins can change the wording and order without changing the underlying per-app control.

You disabled one Android category but still receive event alerts
Some Android phones divide an app’s alerts into categories. Reopen Candy Crush’s notification page and inspect every category that could describe events, promotions or reminders. If you do not want to identify categories individually, turn off the app’s top-level notification switch.
You still see pop-ups while playing
A system notification block governs alerts outside the app. Pop-ups and messages shown after Candy Crush opens are part of the game interface. Check gearwheel > Features for a supported event control; otherwise dismiss the in-game message or leave the event screen.
An old alert remains visible
Changing permission does not necessarily erase an alert that was already posted. Dismiss the existing Candy Crush item from Notification Center or the notification shade, then verify the app switch is off.
You want reminders again later
Reverse the same change. In Candy Crush, return to gearwheel > Features and enable the event feature if you disabled it. On Android, return to Settings > Notifications (or the equivalent app path), select Candy Crush and enable notifications. On iPhone, return to Settings > Apps > Candy Crush > Notifications and turn Allow Notifications on. If the phone offers presentation choices, restore banners, sounds or lock-screen display separately according to your preference.

Muting alerts is useful when reminders interrupt work, sleep or play, but limited-time events can expire while notifications are off. Before switching them off, decide whether you still need the event’s deadline or reward information.
- Note the event’s displayed end time or countdown inside Candy Crush.
- Open the event panel manually when you play so you do not miss objective changes or reward conditions described there.
- Use the in-game switch, rather than the phone-wide app switch, if you want to silence only one supported feature and retain other useful notices.
- If you mute everything, set your own reminder using a calendar or alarm you control; Candy Crush will not restore a missed event after its timer expires.
Privacy and battery considerations
The controls above change notification delivery, not the game installation or your account. You do not need to delete Candy Crush to stop seasonal-event alerts. A notification permission change also does not sign you out or remove the event interface from the game. If you later want updates, re-enable the permission rather than reinstalling the app.
Notification settings are independent of mobile-data, background-activity and battery settings. Do not change those unrelated controls merely to silence alerts; use the app’s notification switch for a precise, reversible result.
