To turn Memory on or off for your own account, sign in to the AI All-Access Pack through Bluehost Portal, open More > Settings > Memory, and flip the Enable Memory toggle. Turning it off stops the assistant from saving new details and from referring to what it has already saved, but it does not erase those saved entries. Deleting them is a separate step. On the Secure Plan (Privacy+), an organization administrator has to enable Memory first, and users cannot switch it on until that happens.
Before you start: which plan you are on
The control you use depends on your plan. Bluehost documents two cases, and they behave differently:

- Standard: Memory is enabled by default, and each user manages it in their own personal settings.
- Secure Plan (Privacy+): An administrator decides whether Memory is available to the organization. Enabling it requires turning off Chat Sanitization, so the two features cannot run together.
Bluehost’s Help article on Memory was updated September 23, 2026, and its product update dated September 8, 2026 confirms the plan defaults. Menu labels can change, so if what you see on screen differs from the steps below, follow the nearest match and check the Memory section of the live settings.

Turn Memory on or off for your own account
These steps apply to any user who can change their personal settings. On Standard, you can do this at any time. On Secure Plan, the option only appears after an administrator has enabled Memory for the organization.
#1 Best Overall
- Log in to Bluehost Portal.
- Under AI Agents, select AI All-Access Pack.
- Select Sign In. If a Verification PIN is requested, enter it. Bluehost says the Standard Plan does not require a PIN.
- In the lower-left corner, select More, then Settings.
- Select Memory.
- Under Enable Memory, use the toggle to switch Memory off or on.
The expected result is simple: when the toggle is off, the assistant stops adding new details to memory and stops drawing on saved memories in later conversations.
Enable or disable Memory as a Secure Plan administrator
On Secure Plan, the administrator sets organization-wide availability. Bluehost describes the process this way:
Rank #2
- Sign in to Bluehost Portal with an administrator account and open AI All-Access Pack.
- Sign in to the pack and enter a Verification PIN if prompted.
- Open Admin Console > Admin Settings > General.
- Find Memory and toggle it on or off. To enable it, follow the on-screen prompt to turn off Chat Sanitization.
When an administrator enables Memory, Bluehost says it is turned on by default for all organization users. Each user can then switch it off in their own personal settings. The administrator controls whether Memory is available to the organization, but administrators cannot browse, review, or delete individual users’ memories through these controls.

| Question | Standard | Secure Plan (Privacy+) |
|---|---|---|
| Default state of Memory | Enabled by default | Not available to users until an administrator enables it; Bluehost says it is then enabled by default for all organization users |
| Who changes the organization-wide setting | Not applicable; users manage their own setting | Administrator, under Admin Console > Admin Settings > General |
| Who can switch off Memory for themselves | The user, under More > Settings > Memory | The user, once Memory is enabled organization-wide |
| Can Memory run with Chat Sanitization | Not stated as a conflict in Bluehost’s documentation | No; enabling Memory requires turning off Chat Sanitization |
| Can an administrator view or delete individual memories | Not applicable | No, according to Bluehost |
The Standard column reflects Bluehost’s documentation. Bluehost does not describe a Standard-plan conflict between Memory and Chat Sanitization, but readers on that plan should confirm the current behavior in their own settings.
Turning Memory off is not the same as deleting memories
These two actions do different things, and it is easy to assume the first does the second.
- Turning Memory off pauses the saving of new details and stops the assistant from referring to saved memories. Existing entries stay in place.
- Deleting memories removes saved entries from the assistant’s saved context. Go to Settings > Memory > Manage Memory. Use the three-dot menu to delete all memories at once, or use the trash icon beside an individual memory.
Deleting saved memories does not, by itself, establish that the underlying conversation data has been removed. Bluehost says applicable retention is governed by its Privacy Policy and Data Processing Agreement (DPA). If retention is a concern for your organization, read those documents rather than relying on the Memory screen alone.

Moving memory in and out with import and export
Bluehost also documents import and export for saved context. Import is available under Settings > Memory, and export is under Settings > General, where the file is delivered to your registered email as a downloadable file. Bluehost lists import as rolling out on August 24, 2026, and says it is available on both Standard and Secure plans. These features are useful if you want to keep a copy of your saved context, but you do not need them to switch Memory off.

On Secure Plan, the organization has to choose between Memory and Chat Sanitization. If it wants sanitization, Memory stays off. If it wants Memory, Chat Sanitization must be turned off. Bluehost’s Help article states that encryption in transit and at rest remains in effect and describes zero-data-retention agreements with third-party LLM providers. These are Bluehost’s own statements; they are not independently verified here, so review them against your contract and compliance requirements before deciding.
Rollout dates
Bluehost’s September 8, 2026 product update gives these dates for when each feature became available:
- Chat Memory: August 21, 2026
- Import Memory: August 24, 2026, available on Standard and Secure plans
These are product rollout dates, not usage or performance figures.
