Save an application page as a PDF on desktop
In Microsoft Edge, open the website or web app document you want to print. The same basic approach works in many desktop browsers, though menu names and available PDF destinations may differ.

- Choose Settings and more > Print, or press Ctrl+P on Windows or Command+P on Mac.
- Review the print preview and settings. Check that the needed text, images, and page sections appear.
- Choose a PDF destination in the destination or printer selector. If you need the operating system’s print options, Edge provides access to the system print dialog from its print interface.
- Select Save or the equivalent command, choose a location and filename, and save the PDF.
- Open the saved file and confirm that it is readable and includes the material you need.
Microsoft’s Edge printing instructions describe the print workflow and its settings. The preview is important: a PDF is generated from the printable rendering, which may not match the live page exactly.
Include backgrounds or remove clutter
If the preview omits colors or background images, check Edge’s background-graphics setting and compare the preview again. For supported websites, Edge also documents printing a clutter-free page through Immersive Reader. If you only need part of a page, select the content and use Print from the context menu.

Save from an iPhone or Android phone
iPhone: Safari
Safari on iPhone has an official workflow for annotating and saving a webpage as a PDF. Follow Apple’s current instructions for the exact sequence, since menus can change between software versions.
Android: Firefox
Firefox for Android documents saving webpages as PDFs. Use Mozilla’s current instructions for the menu sequence on your version of the browser.

Choose PDF or browser offline reading
If you need a file you can name, file, print, or share, use PDF. If you only need to revisit a page without an internet connection and do not need a portable document, Chrome’s supported page-download feature may be enough. Google explains its offline page download workflow.

Check completeness, privacy, and file handling
Application pages can be interactive, login-protected, or dynamically updated. The documented workflows do not guarantee that every form value, authenticated detail, or changing element will be preserved. Check the print preview and open the saved PDF to verify the details you need; do not assume a saved copy captures the page’s full interactive state.

Choose a controlled save location and take care before sharing a PDF that contains personal information. Microsoft’s Edge printing privacy documentation says that print commands and file information are sent to the device operating system when printing to a printer, application, or PDF. That statement does not establish that every browser or PDF workflow is local or cloud-free.
Troubleshoot common PDF problems
- Backgrounds or styling are missing: compare the print preview with the page and enable background graphics if the browser offers that setting. Edge documents this option.
- The PDF contains too much: if only a passage is needed, Edge supports selecting content and printing the selection.
- The page is incomplete or looks different: inspect the preview and saved file. Dynamic content, application state, and authenticated details may not print as expected.
- You only need to read offline: use Chrome’s page-download option if a PDF is not required.
- The PDF is sensitive: save it somewhere you control and share it only with trusted recipients.
