To fix PS5 error CE-117773-6, check the console’s internet connection, confirm you’re signed in to PlayStation, update the system software, and verify that your PlayStation Plus subscription is active. These are the steps Sony lists for this error. If you can sign in and your subscription is still active, Sony says the issue is likely temporary and advises trying again later.
1. Test the PS5’s internet connection
Sony’s first recommended check is whether the console is connected to the internet. On your PS5, open Settings > Network > Connection Status > Test Internet Connection. Follow the on-screen result to see whether the console can connect.

2. Confirm you’re signed in to PlayStation
Make sure your PlayStation account is signed in on the console. If you are signed out, sign in and then retry the action that produced CE-117773-6.
3. Check for a PS5 system software update
Sony also recommends ensuring the console has the latest system software. Check for and install an available update, then try again.

4. Verify your PlayStation Plus subscription
Check whether your PlayStation Plus subscription has expired. Sony includes subscription status in its error-specific checklist, so confirm the status for the account you use on the PS5.
5. Retry later or contact PlayStation Support
If you can sign in and your PlayStation Plus subscription is still active, Sony describes the issue as likely temporary and recommends trying again later. If CE-117773-6 continues after the listed checks, contact PlayStation Support for help.

The page does not recommend replacing hardware, restoring licenses, deleting downloads, or rebuilding the database for this code. Instructions for a different error should not be assumed to apply.
