Not as a wallet-to-wallet payment. You cannot add Samsung Pay itself to Apple Pay or use it as an Apple Pay payment method. But in the United States, Samsung Wallet’s Tap to Transfer feature may let a Samsung user send money to an eligible debit card in a recipient’s Apple Wallet. That is a debit-card transfer—not a payment into Apple Cash—and eligibility depends on the cards, devices, and issuers involved.
First, identify what you mean by “Samsung Pay to Apple Pay”

How Samsung Wallet Tap to Transfer works with Apple Wallet
Tap to Transfer is an in-person, phone-to-phone transfer feature in Samsung Wallet. The Samsung user initiates the transfer from a registered debit card and taps their phone to the recipient’s phone. If the recipient uses a different wallet service, Samsung says the recipient must have that wallet app open and approve the transaction. The recipient needs an eligible debit card in the wallet or a contactless debit card, and the transfer is deposited to the bank account associated with the receiving debit card.

This is not a remote transfer to an Apple account or an Apple Cash balance. Samsung describes remote transfers for recipients who also use Samsung Wallet; the Apple Wallet route is the in-person tap flow. Availability timing can depend on the recipient’s financial institution.

- Location: Tap to Transfer is available only in the United States.
- Sender: Samsung’s support page specifies a Galaxy phone running Android Q or newer, an active Samsung Wallet account, a registered Mastercard debit card, and Samsung Wallet set as the default NFC/contactless payment service. NFC must be enabled.
- Device-version caveat: Samsung’s overview says eligible Samsung Wallet mobile devices running Android 12 or higher support Tap to Transfer, while its support page gives Android Q or newer. Because those published minimums differ, check feature availability and current requirements in Samsung Wallet on your device rather than assuming the lower version is sufficient.
- Recipient: The receiving card must be an eligible debit card. For a transfer to Apple Wallet, the recipient should open the wallet and be ready to approve; NFC must be enabled on both phones.
- Card eligibility: Samsung describes eligible Mastercard or Visa debit-card destinations, but issuer rules matter. Some prepaid or rewards cards that appear as debit cards may be excluded, and Samsung cautions that certain cards, including Apple Cash, may not be eligible to receive transfers. Credit cards cannot be used as the sender card.
Start a transfer carefully
- On the Samsung phone, open Samsung Wallet and select the registered debit card you intend to use.
- Choose Tap to Transfer and enter the amount.
- Ask the recipient to open their wallet and select the intended eligible debit card. Confirm the recipient and card before proceeding.
- Tap the Samsung phone to the recipient’s phone and follow the on-screen prompts. If the recipient uses Apple Wallet, they must approve the transfer in that app.
- Verify the result in the relevant wallet or account. Samsung warns that a sent transaction cannot be canceled, so confirm the amount and destination before tapping.
Published US fees and limits
Samsung’s US product and support pages list the following terms; they are current published terms, not permanent guarantees. Samsung says limits can change without notice, so check the in-app terms before sending.

Apple Pay is not the same as Apple Cash
Apple Pay is Apple’s way to pay merchants in stores, apps, and on the web using eligible cards from participating issuers. In-store use depends on the merchant accepting the relevant card network and having NFC contactless payments enabled.

Apple Cash is a separate US service for sending and receiving money and holding a balance in Wallet. A debit card appearing in Apple Wallet does not make it an Apple Cash balance or guarantee that it can receive a Samsung Wallet transfer. Samsung specifically notes that Apple Cash may not be eligible as a receiving card, depending on issuer and card eligibility.
If Tap to Transfer is unavailable
If either phone, card, issuer, or location does not meet Samsung’s requirements, this wallet-to-wallet tap route may not be available. Use a money-transfer method supported by both people’s banks or financial services instead, and check whether it sends funds to a bank account or to an in-app balance. Do not assume that a payment address or balance in Apple Cash can receive a Tap to Transfer payment.
