Start the transfer with the brokerage you’re moving to: submit its transfer-of-assets or ACATS request using your Webull account details. Before filing, confirm which holdings can move in kind, that account ownership and type match, and that trades and deposits are settled. Webull currently lists a $75 outgoing ACATS fee and estimates 3–5 business days, but the destination firm’s requirements and processing can affect the outcome.
How do I transfer my stocks from Webull to another brokerage?
For a typical U.S. brokerage-to-brokerage transfer, request an ACATS transfer through the receiving brokerage—not by starting with Webull. Investor.gov explains that the new firm validates the transfer instruction form and sends the request to the old firm through ACATS. Its guidance is at Investor.gov’s brokerage transfer overview.

- Ask the receiving firm what it accepts. Confirm that it supports the account type and each security you want to move, and whether it wants a full or partial transfer.
- Prepare matching account details. Follow the destination firm’s form exactly. Webull says its outgoing instructions require the account number with the prefix
WEBand its DTC number0158. Confirm these fields and values against Webull’s current transfer instructions when filing. - Check settlement, restrictions, and cash. Webull says trades and deposits must be settled before an ACATS transfer can complete. Leave enough available cash for its transfer fee and ask about any pending restrictions.
- Submit the ACATS request with the new firm. Enter the Webull account information and select the assets or full account as the receiving firm’s form allows. Incomplete or incorrect information can delay a request.
- Monitor the request with both firms. Webull says trading, deposits, and withdrawals are restricted while transferred assets are confirmed. If the request stalls or is rejected, ask the firms which detail or position needs attention.
- Reconcile the completed transfer. Compare the receiving firm’s first statement with your last Webull statement and the transfer list. Keep statements and transaction records, and check that cost-basis information arrives.
Choose a full or partial transfer
| Transfer type | What moves | Webull account afterward | Important checks |
|---|---|---|---|
| Full | All eligible assets in the account | Webull says the account closes after the transfer is complete. | Check whether every position is supported by the destination firm, and how nontransferable positions or cash will be handled. |
| Partial | Only the assets selected for transfer | Webull says the account remains available after confirmation. | Webull says a partial transfer with a margin debit balance may be rejected; it also identifies certain partial options transfers as a possible rejection issue. |
Webull says account activity is restricted while transferred assets are confirmed. Its transfer guidance also says margin balances can only complete a full transfer out. Because transfer eligibility depends on both firms and the positions involved, ask the receiving brokerage how it wants the request structured before submitting it.

Check account registration and security eligibility
The account at the destination generally needs to match the transferring account’s ownership and registration closely enough for both firms to accept it. Webull lists mismatched account type, account-holder name, or Social Security number among reasons a request may be rejected. Confirm the details on the receiving firm’s form against your account records before submitting.
#1 Best Overall
Webull lists individual cash or margin, Traditional IRA, Rollover IRA, Roth IRA, and joint cash or margin accounts among supported types for transfers into Webull. That list does not establish what another brokerage accepts, so confirm the destination’s rules for your specific account.
Not every holding can move in kind. Webull’s outgoing guidance says fractional shares, Treasury bonds, and money market funds cannot transfer and will be liquidated when an account transfer is initiated. It also says options expiring within two weeks cannot transfer. The receiving brokerage may have additional security restrictions. Ask how each excluded position will be handled before you request the transfer; selling in a taxable account can have tax consequences, and Investor.gov advises considering those consequences and consulting a tax adviser before selling assets to facilitate a transfer. See its transfer guidance.

Settle transactions and account for deposit holds
Webull requires transactions, including trades and deposits, to be settled before an ACATS transfer can be completed. It says a hold of up to 30 days may apply to recent deposits, counted from the date the deposit settles. If you have a recent deposit, unsettled trade, pending transfer, or another account restriction, check its status with Webull before submitting the request.

| Webull outgoing ACATS fee | $75 | Webull’s transfer instructions, accessed October 7, 2026, list this fee for both full and partial outgoing transfers; it is deducted from account cash. Fees can change, so verify the live instructions before filing. |
| Receiving brokerage fee | Not stated | The destination brokerage was not specified; ask it directly whether it charges a transfer fee or offers reimbursement. |
| Webull processing estimate | 3–5 business days | Webull’s estimate for an outgoing ACATS transfer, accessed October 7, 2026; it is not a guarantee and may vary with circumstances and institutions. |
| General ACATS estimate | Approximately 3–5 business days | The SEC Office of Investor Education and Advocacy gives this estimate for an uncomplicated transfer from the time the new firm enters the form in its 2014 investor bulletin. Incomplete or inaccurate instructions can delay processing. |
Webull says a request may be rejected if there is not enough available cash to cover its fee. It also lists unsettled trades, mismatched account registration or identity details, an incorrect account number, another active request, and certain partial options transfers as possible rejection reasons. Webull says only one transfer request can be active at a time. Confirm the current fee and any separate destination-firm charge before submitting.
What happens to fractional shares and other nontransferable holdings?
Webull says fractional shares, Treasury bonds, and money market funds cannot transfer and will be liquidated when an account transfer is initiated; options expiring within two weeks cannot transfer. These rules describe Webull’s current outgoing guidance, not a universal ACATS rule. Ask both firms how affected positions will be treated, including whether any liquidation will occur and how resulting cash will be handled. In a taxable account, a sale may have tax consequences; consider professional tax advice before deciding to sell holdings yourself.
What to do if the transfer is delayed or rejected
Contact both the receiving and delivering firms and ask which field, account condition, or security is holding up the request. Investor.gov identifies incomplete or inaccurate transfer information as a common source of delay and advises keeping in contact with the firms during the process. Webull’s listed checks include:
Rank #4
- Account number entered correctly, including the
WEBprefix where Webull’s instructions require it. - Account holder, identity details, and account registration consistent with the records and accepted by both firms.
- Trades and deposits settled, with no other restriction preventing transfer.
- Enough available cash to cover Webull’s outgoing fee.
- No other active transfer request.
- Transfer type appropriate for the account’s margin balance and options positions.
- Each selected holding supported by the receiving brokerage.
Verify positions and cost basis after arrival
Compare the receiving firm’s first statement with your last Webull statement and the assets you requested to transfer. Webull says it provides cost-basis information to the new institution within 10–15 business days. If it has not arrived after that period, Webull says you can contact it to arrange resending. Keep prior statements and transaction records so you can check positions and basis information against your own records.
