Use vivo EasyShare’s Phone Clone to move selected apps and personal data from an old Android phone or iPhone to the vivo X Fold6. The phones pair by QR code, the old phone controls what is copied, and the X Fold6 receives it. Review the selection first: vivo warns that data belonging to the same apps on the new phone can be overwritten. Some apps may also require manual installation or a fresh sign-in after the copy.
Choose the right transfer method
For a complete phone-to-phone move, start with EasyShare Phone Clone. It is the guided workflow documented by vivo for moving content directly between two phones. A separate USB workflow lets you connect the X Fold6 to a computer and copy files manually. That computer method is useful when you only need documents, photos or other files that you want to browse yourself; it is not presented by vivo as a requirement for Phone Clone.

| Method | Best for | How it works | Important limitation |
|---|---|---|---|
| EasyShare Phone Clone | Moving selected phone content during setup or migration | Install or open EasyShare on both phones, designate the old and new phones, pair with a QR code, select content and start cloning | App installation, private app data and account sessions may still require separate action |
| USB to a computer | Manually copying files such as photos, videos and documents | Connect the phone by USB, choose File transfer on the phone, then copy files through the computer | It does not replace the guided Phone Clone process for app migration |
EasyShare describes Phone Clone as working without consuming mobile data. Its official feature page advertises speeds of up to 40 MB/s. That figure is a vendor maximum, not an independent test or a guaranteed rate; actual time depends on the amount and type of content, the phones and their connection.
Prepare both phones before cloning
Confirm the software and region
Menu labels can differ by market and software build. vivo’s China X Fold6 listing describes OriginOS 6 Fold based on Android 16, while its India listing describes OriginOS 7 and Android 17. Before following a path word for word, check the region, model and software version shown on your phone. EasyShare may look slightly different even when the Phone Clone process is the same.

Install EasyShare where it is needed
Open EasyShare on both phones if it is already present. If the old phone is an iPhone, vivo’s manual says EasyShare must be installed before the transfer starts. If the app is missing on either device, install it from that phone’s normal app store, then reopen it. Keep both phones available until the copy and verification are finished.
Protect the information already on the X Fold6
Make a separate backup of irreplaceable photos, documents and other data before cloning. In vivo’s documented workflow, data belonging to the same apps on the new phone can be overwritten after the transfer. This matters if you have already used the X Fold6, restored an earlier backup or created new content on it. Treat the old phone as the source of truth only after checking the selection screen.
Plan for accounts and protected app data
A successful app copy does not promise that every app’s private database, credentials or active login session will move. vivo’s support index separately addresses app data between vivo and other brands and third-party app accounts, but the available documentation does not guarantee those items. Have each important app’s own backup, export or account-recovery method ready. Keep passwords, passkeys and two-factor authentication methods accessible before you sign out of the old phone.

Keep the phones available
Do not reset, trade in or erase the old phone until you have checked the X Fold6. Verify contacts, photos, messages and the files you actually need, then open the most important apps and confirm their data. If an app still needs a login or restore, complete that process while the old phone remains available.
Transfer from an Android phone with EasyShare Phone Clone
The following sequence follows vivo’s documented Phone Clone workflow. Wording and button placement can vary with region and OriginOS version, but the roles are consistent: the old phone sends, and the X Fold6 receives.
Rank #2
- All‑Round Foldable Protection: Shock‑resistant lightweight shell absorbs impact from drops and bumps, defending your phone against daily knocks and scratches
- Built‑in Front Screen Protector: Integrated front display film avoids extra screen glass installation, maintains original touch sensitivity while blocking scuffs and abrasions
- Complete Hinge Guard: Precision‑fit hinge enclosure shields the folding hinge from dust, grit and wear, ensures smooth opening‑closing without hindering fold motion
- Slim Lightweight Snug Fit: Light‑weight construction adds minimal bulk, fits tightly on your device; precise cutouts grant full access to buttons, ports and camera module
- User‑Friendly Practical Design: Easy snap‑on installation and removal. Raised edges lift screen and camera off flat surfaces to prevent direct surface friction
- Open EasyShare on both phones. Install it first if either phone does not have it. On an Android source phone, allow the app to open its transfer feature when prompted.
- Choose Phone Clone. Set the old Android phone as Old phone and set the vivo X Fold6 as New phone. Check the role labels carefully; reversing them can put the phones in the wrong state.
- Create the pairing code. The old phone generates a QR code as part of the Phone Clone setup. Leave that screen open.
- Scan from the X Fold6. On the X Fold6, choose the option to connect to the old phone and scan the displayed QR code. Accept any on-screen request needed to establish the direct connection.
- Review the content list on the old phone. Select only the categories and items you want to send. This is the point to remove anything that would duplicate or replace newer information already on the X Fold6.
- Start cloning. Confirm the selection on the old phone and accept the incoming transfer on the X Fold6. Keep both screens available while the progress indicator runs.
- Wait for completion. Avoid switching the phones off or abandoning the transfer midway. The time will vary with the amount of content; the advertised “up to 40 MB/s” is not a promise of a particular completion time.
- Inspect the result before erasing the old phone. Check representative contacts, photos, videos, messages and documents. Then open critical apps and follow their own restore or sign-in steps if needed.
Transfer from an iPhone to the vivo X Fold6
Phone Clone can be used for an iPhone source, but the preparation is different: vivo says the iPhone must have EasyShare installed before the transfer. Install and open EasyShare on the iPhone, install or open it on the X Fold6, and then use the same old-phone/new-phone roles.
- Install EasyShare on the iPhone before pairing. Do not wait until after the QR-code screen appears. Complete the installation and open the app first.
- Launch Phone Clone on both phones. Identify the iPhone as Old phone and the X Fold6 as New phone.
- Pair by QR code. Generate the code on the source phone and scan it with the X Fold6, following the connection prompts shown on each device.
- Choose the transferable content. Review the categories on the iPhone and deselect anything that you do not want copied or that could overwrite information already created on the X Fold6.
- Start and accept the transfer. Begin cloning on the iPhone and confirm receipt on the X Fold6. Leave both phones available until EasyShare reports completion.
- Rebuild app access where necessary. App availability, private data and account sessions can differ between iOS and Android. For an app that opens without its history or asks for credentials, use that service’s own account, export or backup process rather than assuming Phone Clone can recreate it.
What happens to apps, app data and logins?
| Item | What the documented workflow establishes | What you should do |
|---|---|---|
| App packages | EasyShare can include apps in the selected clone content, but vivo Singapore warns that apps may not install automatically because of permission limitations. | After cloning, open Files > Apps on the X Fold6 and install any transferred apps that are waiting there. |
| Data belonging to the same app | vivo’s manual warns that data for the same apps on the new phone will be overwritten after transfer. | Back up important information, inspect the selection and do not include a source copy if the X Fold6 has newer data you need to keep. |
| Private app databases | The available vivo material does not guarantee that every third-party app’s private data will migrate, especially between different brands or operating systems. | Use the app developer’s backup, export or cloud-restore feature and verify the result inside the app. |
| Passwords, passkeys and active sessions | No guarantee is provided that credentials or logged-in sessions will be copied. | Keep recovery codes and authentication devices available, and sign in through the app’s normal process. |
| Contacts, photos and ordinary files | These can be selected in the Phone Clone content list when offered by EasyShare. | Open representative items on the X Fold6 and compare important folders before retiring the old phone. |
The key distinction is between an app package and the service account behind it. Seeing an app icon on the X Fold6 does not prove that its private history, downloads, tokens or current session came across. Verify each high-value app separately.
Install apps manually after the transfer
vivo Singapore’s EasyShare instructions say that transferred apps may fail to install automatically because of permission limitations. If an app is listed but not installed, use the X Fold6’s file manager:
- Open Files on the X Fold6.
- Choose Apps.
- Locate the transferred app package shown there.
- Start the installation and follow the permission or confirmation prompts.
- Open the app after installation and complete its own sign-in or restore procedure.
If an app is not listed under Files > Apps, do not assume that repeatedly starting Phone Clone will restore its private data. Check whether the app is available for the X Fold6’s Android software and use the service’s official recovery path.
Prevent an accidental overwrite
The overwrite warning is the most consequential part of the documented process. Before pressing the final clone button, use this checklist:
Rank #3
- All‑Round Foldable Protection: Shock‑resistant lightweight shell absorbs impact from drops and bumps, defending your phone against daily knocks and scratches
- Built‑in Front Screen Protector: Integrated front display film avoids extra screen glass installation, maintains original touch sensitivity while blocking scuffs and abrasions
- Complete Hinge Guard: Precision‑fit hinge enclosure shields the folding hinge from dust, grit and wear, ensures smooth opening‑closing without hindering fold motion
- Slim Lightweight Snug Fit: Light‑weight construction adds minimal bulk, fits tightly on your device; precise cutouts grant full access to buttons, ports and camera module
- User‑Friendly Practical Design: Easy snap‑on installation and removal. Raised edges lift screen and camera off flat surfaces to prevent direct surface friction
- Confirm that the X Fold6 is the New phone and the old handset is the Old phone.
- Review every selected category instead of accepting the default list blindly.
- Remove items whose newer version already exists on the X Fold6.
- Back up unique X Fold6 content separately.
- After completion, check the X Fold6 before deleting anything from the source phone.
If the wrong content was copied, stop using the affected app on the X Fold6 until you decide whether its own backup can restore the desired version. The safest recovery depends on that app’s service; the Phone Clone documentation does not provide a universal undo operation.
The Tool Desk
Outbyte PC Repair FREERepair Windows errors before they cause bigger problemsFix Now →Outbyte Driver Updater FREEScan for outdated or missing drivers - takes under a minuteDriver Scan →Use USB file transfer through a computer instead
Choose this route when your goal is controlled file copying rather than a phone migration. vivo’s manual documents connecting the phone to a computer by USB and selecting File transfer on the phone. The India X Fold6 product listing includes a Type-C cable in the box, although package contents can vary by region.
- Connect the X Fold6 to the computer with a compatible USB cable.
- Unlock the phone if the computer cannot see its storage.
- Open the USB notification or connection controls on the phone and choose File transfer.
- On the computer, open the X Fold6’s available storage and copy the folders you need.
- Eject the phone from the computer before disconnecting the cable.
- Open several copied files on the X Fold6 to verify that the transfer completed correctly.
This workflow gives you a manual file browser and a second copy on the computer. It does not provide the QR-code pairing, app selection or guided device migration of EasyShare Phone Clone. A cable is therefore an alternative for files, not a documented prerequisite for Phone Clone.
Troubleshoot a failed or incomplete clone
The QR code will not pair
- Confirm that the iPhone has EasyShare installed before attempting the connection.
- Check that the roles are correct: old phone as Old phone, X Fold6 as New phone.
- Close and reopen Phone Clone on both devices, then generate a fresh QR code.
- Keep the phones close together and follow the connection prompt on each screen.
The transfer stops before completion
- Restart the Phone Clone process and select a smaller set of content to identify whether one category is causing the interruption.
- Keep both phones awake and available for the entire operation.
- Do not erase the old phone until a smaller or complete retry has been checked on the X Fold6.
The app icon is present but the app will not open
Check Files > Apps and install any package that was not installed automatically. If the app still cannot be used, check its normal account-recovery or Android compatibility requirements. The presence of an icon is not proof that its private data or login session transferred.
Some app history is missing
Use the app’s own backup or cloud-restore feature. Phone Clone’s general transfer does not establish a guarantee for third-party private databases or credentials, especially when the source was an iPhone or a different Android manufacturer.
Rank #4

- Built‑in Front Screen Protector: Integrated front display film avoids extra screen glass installation, maintains original touch sensitivity while blocking scuffs and abrasions

Files are missing after a successful report
Recheck the source selection and inspect the corresponding folders on the X Fold6. For files that you need to control individually, use the USB File transfer method and copy them through a computer.
How long will it take and will it use mobile data?
vivo describes EasyShare Phone Clone as transferring without consuming mobile data. The EasyShare feature page advertises a maximum speed of up to 40 MB/s, but that is a vendor claim rather than a guaranteed or independently measured result. The amount of selected content, file mix and device conditions determine the real duration. Selecting fewer items reduces the amount that must be reviewed and copied.
Check the X Fold6 before retiring the old phone
Use a deliberate verification pass rather than relying only on EasyShare’s completion message:
- Search Contacts for several known entries.
- Open recent photos and videos and check older folders as well.
- Open important documents and confirm they are readable.
- Send or receive a test message if messaging history matters to you.
- Launch banking, work, password, authentication and communication apps and complete their required sign-ins.
- Install any app waiting under Files > Apps.
- Confirm that the X Fold6 contains anything created on it before cloning.
Only after these checks should you factory-reset, sell or wipe the old phone. Keeping it available is especially important when an app requires an account recovery step that cannot be completed from the clone alone.

Bottom line
EasyShare Phone Clone is vivo’s direct route for moving selected apps and data to the X Fold6: install or open it on both phones, assign old and new roles, pair with the QR code, review the selection and start the clone. Expect manual app installation in some cases, plan to sign in or restore private app data separately, and treat the overwrite warning as a reason to back up and inspect everything before you begin.
