Use BrowserStack Screenshots or Percy to compare how a UPI payment page renders in selected browsers and devices, then validate payment behavior separately using your payment integration’s approved test flow. A screenshot can expose a layout or browser-rendering defect; it cannot prove that a UPI payment completed, that a bank or UPI app accepted it, or that the flow is certified.
What BrowserStack screenshots can—and cannot—tell you
BrowserStack Screenshots is intended for capturing a website across browser and device combinations. BrowserStack’s product page advertises “3000+” browsers and devices; that is an undated vendor coverage claim, not an independently verified inventory count. Percy can capture separate screenshots for each enabled browser and show visual differences between them.

These tools help answer questions such as whether a button is clipped on a small viewport, whether a label wraps differently, or whether a payment form appears inconsistent in a particular browser. They do not establish that a payment request was sent correctly, that a provider processed it, or that a UPI transaction succeeded. BrowserStack Live documentation discusses payment workflow testing as a general website use case, but the reviewed material does not make UPI-specific certification or transaction guarantees.

There is no single universal matrix that fits every UPI product. Start with the browsers, operating systems, and devices your product supports and that its audience uses. Include representative desktop and mobile cases, especially the responsive widths at which the payment page changes layout.

- Include the browser and version combinations that your product officially supports.
- Cover relevant operating systems and device sizes rather than treating a browser name as the whole test environment.
- Prioritize payment-page states that matter: initial load, validation messages, longer labels, disabled or enabled buttons, and the responsive layout around key breakpoints.
- Keep the matrix focused enough that every result can be reviewed and meaningful differences investigated.
Percy’s documentation notes that operating-system rendering can affect fonts, form controls, and scrollbars. When a diff appears, check the operating system and browser combination before classifying it as a defect. A visual difference is a signal to investigate, not automatic proof that the page is wrong.
Run a safe visual check
- Prepare a non-production page. Use a staging URL where possible, along with test data or a payment-provider sandbox appropriate to your integration. Do not initiate real-money transactions merely to inspect rendering.
- Make the page reproducible. Ensure the chosen state can load consistently and that any required test configuration is available. Record the intended browser, operating system, viewport, and page state for each capture.
- Capture each selected browser separately. In Percy, each enabled browser receives its own screenshot and visual diff. Review those results individually rather than assuming one browser’s capture represents all others.
- Inspect the payment interface. Check the visibility and alignment of the amount, recipient or merchant details, instructions, input fields, buttons, validation copy, and responsive behavior. Look for clipping, overlap, unexpected wrapping, and controls that become difficult to use.
- Investigate diffs in context. Compare the browser and OS conditions and consider native control, font, or scrollbar differences. Fix actual layout defects; do not chase harmless pixel variation without checking its effect on users.
- Validate the transaction flow separately. Use the provider-approved sandbox or test workflow and your own integration checks to verify the payment request, responses, error handling, and resulting application state. A screenshot is not a transaction result.
When BrowserStack Live or QR image injection is relevant
BrowserStack Live is documented as a cloud-based manual testing platform for websites and web apps, including general payment workflow testing. It can be useful when a tester needs to interact with the page in a selected browser/device session rather than only compare captured images.

App Live Image Injection is a separate, specialized capability: on supported real devices it can provide an image, QR code, or barcode as camera input. Consider it if a mobile app’s flow actually uses the camera to scan a QR code. It is not required to take browser screenshots of an ordinary web payment page.

Account for Percy screenshot usage
Percy documentation says each browser screenshot counts separately toward monthly screenshot usage. Enabling more browsers therefore increases the number of screenshots consumed for a run. - A page looks different only in one result: Check its browser, operating system, viewport, and native form-control rendering before changing shared CSS.
- A diff appears to be only typography or a scrollbar: Compare the OS and browser context; Percy documentation identifies fonts, controls, and scrollbars as sources of rendering variation.
- The staging page cannot be reached from the cloud session: Use BrowserStack Live’s documented Local Testing path for staging access, or test a reachable non-production URL.
- A screenshot looks correct but payment fails: Treat this as an integration or workflow issue, not a visual-test pass. Check the provider sandbox, request/response handling, and application state using the approved test procedure.
- You need to test QR camera scanning: Determine whether the step is inside a supported mobile app/device workflow; App Live image injection can provide camera input on supported real devices. A page screenshot alone does not exercise a camera scanner.
Keep the test layers separate
Use browser screenshots to find visual and responsive regressions, interactive browser sessions to examine manual workflow behavior, and provider-approved sandbox checks to validate payment integration. BrowserStack’s documented general payment-workflow support is relevant to interactive testing, but the reviewed product material does not establish UPI-specific certification. Passing one layer does not imply that the others passed.
