Do these 3 things before closing this tab:
1Repair Windows errors before they cause bigger problems2Fix the driver behind crashes, sound loss and screen glitches3Clear out junk files and repair common Windows errorsTest accessibility state by state: reveal each meaningful interface state through realistic interaction, run an automated accessibility scan and any relevant accessibility-tree assertions while that state is active, then compare its screenshot with a baseline made in the same rendering environment. Treat those as separate kinds of evidence. A pixel match cannot show whether a control is exposed to assistive technology or works by keyboard, and an automated scan cannot replace human review.
Choose the interface states to test
A screenshot or accessibility scan of the initial page covers only what is present in that state. Build a state list from the interactions people actually use, rather than assuming one page load is enough.

- The default page and its initial focus position.
- Keyboard focus on important controls, including visible focus indicators.
- An expanded navigation menu or other revealed content.
- An open dialog, including the state after it opens.
- A form after invalid submission, with its error state visible.
- A successful submission or confirmation state.
Adapt the list to the product’s interaction model and risk. It is a practical starting point, not an exhaustive checklist or a claim of conformance.

Run the checks in a repeatable sequence
1. Reach the state through the interaction users perform
Use browser automation to click, type, submit, or navigate by keyboard as appropriate. Do not force a hidden menu or dialog into view in a way that bypasses the behavior being tested. Playwright’s accessibility-testing guidance recommends performing the interaction that reveals content before scanning, then waiting for the expected content or locator.

- A BETTER READING EXPERIENCE: For busy office workers, EasyRead mode provides a more paper-like experience for when viewing lengthy documents
2. Scan the rendered state
Playwright’s official guidance demonstrates the @axe-core/playwright package and AxeBuilder.analyze(). You can scope a scan with include() or select WCAG-related rule tags with withTags(). Choose scope and tags deliberately for the state and checks you intend to run; do not treat a passing scan as proof that the page fully conforms.
A scan reports violations found by its configured rules in the rendered state it examined. It cannot report problems in states that were never reached, and it will not find every accessibility problem. Playwright puts the limit plainly: “Automated accessibility tests can detect some common accessibility problems such as missing or invalid properties. But many accessibility problems can only be discovered through manual testing.”

3. Assert the accessibility-tree structure that matters
Where a particular structure is important, add focused assertions for landmarks, headings, control names, and relevant state. Playwright supports ARIA snapshot assertions against a predefined accessibility-tree snapshot. Its documented matching is order-sensitive, so a change in tree order can fail an assertion even when the content is otherwise familiar. Review such failures in context rather than treating a snapshot as a complete usability or conformance test. See Playwright’s snapshot testing documentation.
Outdated Drivers Are Slowing You Down

Use Playwright Test’s toHaveScreenshot() to compare the current rendering with a stored reference. A difference means rendered output changed; it does not by itself mean the change is a defect. Review the diff, and update a baseline only after deciding that the new appearance is expected.

- Clear visuals. Fluid motion: A 144Hz refresh rate and 1ms MPRT deliver smooth, tear‑free motion across work, gaming, and streaming for clearer, more fluid viewing.

- In-Plane Switching (IPS): See excellent color accuracy and consistency across wide viewing angles with In-plane Switching (IPS) technology.
- Ultra-thin bezels: Maximize your viewing experience with thin bezels.
Keep the browser, operating system, rendering settings, and execution mode consistent when generating and comparing baselines. Playwright warns that differences in rendering environments can affect the output. Its visual comparisons documentation explains screenshot baselines and comparisons.
5. Record each kind of result separately
For every tested state, report visual changes, automated rule results, accessibility-tree mismatches, and manual findings as distinct evidence. Each answers a different question; combining them into one pass/fail label can hide what was actually checked.

What each check can and cannot establish
| Method | What it can establish | Main limitation |
|---|---|---|
| Screenshot comparison | Whether rendered pixels differ from a saved reference. | Rendering-environment differences can cause changes; pixels do not establish semantics or operability. |
| Automated accessibility scan | Whether the configured rules found detectable violations in the current rendered state. | It detects only some problems and depends on the state scanned and rules configured. |
| Accessibility-tree snapshot | Whether the current accessible structure matches an expected template. | It is a structural assertion, not a complete usability or conformance assessment; Playwright matching is order-sensitive. |
| Manual keyboard and assistive-technology review, plus inclusive user testing | Whether people can reach, understand, and operate the interface in context. | It requires planned human review and coverage suited to the product. |
Manually check keyboard access and focus
Navigate through the interface with a keyboard. Confirm important controls can be reached and operated, and that focus is visible as it moves. In particular, check revealed content and interactions rather than only the initial page. W3C WAI’s Easy Checks – A First Review of Web Accessibility flags functionality that is available only on mouse hover and not through keyboard focus. Add assistive-technology review and inclusive user assessment appropriate to the product and risk; automated tools and screenshots do not substitute for those evaluations.
