Open the specific Pokémon’s summary and look for an Evolve button. A costume by itself does not tell you whether that Pokémon can evolve: check the option and any requirements shown on that individual Pokémon.
Check the individual Pokémon’s summary
- In your Pokémon storage, tap the costume Pokémon you want to check.
- On its summary screen, look for Evolve.
- If the option is shown, review the displayed requirements and meet them before evolving.
Niantic’s Evolving your Pokémon help page describes selecting a Pokémon and using the Evolve button on its summary. The summary is the practical check for that specimen; the official help materials do not provide a complete, current list of which costume designs can evolve.

Check what is required to evolve it
Evolution may require more than Candy. Depending on the Pokémon, the game can show a need for an evolution item, a task, trade eligibility, a nearby lure, or buddy walking. Follow the requirements displayed for the Pokémon rather than assuming that having enough Candy is sufficient.

If you do not see an Evolve option, first check the Pokémon’s displayed conditions and whether they have been met. Costume status alone does not explain the missing option, and the available official guidance does not establish one rule for every costume.

Use storage search to narrow your collection
Niantic’s Searching & Filtering your Pokémon Inventory help page describes evolve as a way to find Pokémon eligible to evolve generally and costume as a way to filter for special-event Pokémon. These searches can help you sort your storage, but the documentation does not say that combining them confirms whether a particular costume Pokémon can evolve. Open its summary to check.
Do not confuse an evolvable costume with a costume available at every stage
Whether a particular Pokémon can evolve and whether its evolved form will wear a costume are separate questions. Pokémon GO’s Fashion Week 2022 announcement listed both Diglett wearing a fashionable costume and Dugtrio wearing a fashionable costume, showing that this design appeared on both forms. That event example does not establish that other costume designs can be carried through evolution.
