The clearest indication is a pattern: your messages stay marked Sent, calls appear to connect but are not answered, you can no longer see the person’s online status or new profile-picture changes, and Viber will not let you add them to a group. No single sign proves a block, because privacy settings and connectivity can produce similar results.
What happens when someone blocks you on Viber?
According to Rakuten Viber Support, a blocked person is not told about the block. Instead, Viber limits what they can see and do:

- Messages: Your messages remain marked Sent; the recipient does not receive them.
- Calls: A call may sound or look as if it is connecting, but the other person does not receive or answer it.
- Online status: You cannot see the blocker’s online status.
- Profile photo: You cannot see new changes to the blocker’s profile picture.
- Groups: You cannot add the blocker to a group. The attempted addition may make it appear as though they left automatically. If you already share a group, you can still see each other’s activity there.
How to check for several signs without overinterpreting them
- Send one ordinary message. Note whether it stays at Sent rather than showing it was received. Give it time; an offline phone or lack of internet access can delay delivery.
- Check online status. If it is not visible, treat that only as a supporting clue. Viber lets users hide their online status.
- Look for a profile-picture change. Not seeing a new picture can fit the blocked pattern, but by itself it is weak evidence.
- Place one Viber call. Notice whether it appears to connect without being received or answered. Do not keep calling to test it.
- Use a group-add attempt only if appropriate. Viber documents inability to add someone who has blocked you, but avoid using group invitations to pressure or bypass someone’s choice to limit contact.
Several of these signs appearing together are more consistent with a block than any one alone. They still do not reveal the person’s reason, and repeated messages or calls will not confirm it more reliably.

Yes. Viber allows users to control who can see online status and to disable Seen notifications; its Privacy Policy also says profile information and connection status depend on settings. A person being offline or without internet can delay delivery. So a missing online indicator, absent Seen status, or message that has not advanced is not proof on its own.

Use the combination of signs rather than one indicator. In particular, a hidden online status or lack of Seen information can result from privacy choices, while messages that remain Sent alongside the documented call and group-add behavior make a block more plausible.
Does Viber notify you if someone blocks you?
No. Viber says the blocked person is not notified. You can only infer a possible block from the behavior above; the app does not provide a definitive alert confirming another person’s decision.

What changes if the person unblocks you?
Viber’s support instructions say to open Settings > Privacy > Block list, select the number, and tap Unblock. After unblocking, the person can contact you again, but messages sent while they were blocked do not appear later.
