ScreenshotAPI supports bulk website screenshots from a CSV on a paid tier. Prepare a file with a url column containing complete HTTPS URLs, upload it in the dashboard or send it to the CSV upload API, then track the job and download the processed CSV with each URL’s status and screenshot link.
Prepare the CSV
Create a CSV with a header row named url and one fully qualified https:// URL per row. Bare domains and incomplete URLs may cause processing errors. For example:

- A delay in milliseconds for pages that need time to render dynamic content.
- A custom headers column when the page requires request headers.
fresh: used in the documentation’s examples.
Use the exact column names and formatting required by the current vendor documentation for options beyond the example. Processing time depends on batch size and configuration complexity; ScreenshotAPI does not publish a completion-time estimate.

Choose how to upload the CSV
Dashboard upload
For a one-off batch, upload the file through the ScreenshotAPI website dashboard. The dashboard provides a progress view, including completed and pending URLs, and lets you download the processed CSV when the job finishes.
CSV upload API
For an automated workflow, send a multipart form-data POST request to https://api.screenshotapi.net/v1/bulk/csv?token={token}. Attach the file in the form field named csv. This Python example follows the vendor’s documented request shape:

Monitor the job and review its output
The CSV status endpoint reports progress information such as percent complete, successful URLs, and failed URLs. Once processing is finished, download the processed CSV through the dashboard or the documented API endpoint. ScreenshotAPI says it also emails a download link when the batch is ready.

Limits, billing, and retention to check
- Paid access: ScreenshotAPI’s help page says CSV bulk capture is available only on a paid tier. Confirm the current terms for your account before uploading.
- Request rate: ScreenshotAPI.net Help, accessed in 2026, gives a general rate range of 20–80 requests per minute depending on subscription. This is not stated as a CSV row limit or batch-size allowance.
- JSON limit is separate: The bulk documentation says the JSON-based bulk API accepts a maximum of 50 URLs at once. It does not establish that 50 is a CSV upload limit.
- Stored screenshot retention: ScreenshotAPI.net Help, accessed in 2026, describes retention of up to 30 days on the free tier and six months on the paid tier, depending on TTL. Since CSV bulk capture is separately described as paid-tier only, confirm current retention and account behavior before relying on those periods.
Troubleshooting CSV screenshot batches
- A URL fails to process: Check that the value is a complete URL beginning with
https://, not just a hostname, and inspect that row’serror_message. - The upload is rejected: Verify the file is a CSV and that the multipart form field is named
csv. Confirm that the API token is valid and that the account has the paid-tier access required for CSV bulk capture. - The page looks incomplete: For content rendered after initial load, use the documented delay setting where appropriate. Check viewport dimensions and any injected CSS or custom headers used for that row.
- The job is still pending: Batch size and configuration complexity affect processing time, and no fixed completion estimate is published. Check progress in the dashboard or the status endpoint rather than assuming the job has failed.
- You are planning a batch larger than 50 URLs: The published 50-URL limit applies to the JSON bulk API. The CSV documentation does not publish a row cap, so do not assume either that CSV shares the JSON limit or that it is unlimited; check current account guidance.
