Tailor a separate résumé to each Web3 role: match the vacancy’s responsibilities, show relevant outcomes, and link to work an employer can verify. Crypto hiring spans software engineering and security as well as product, design, data, marketing, operations, and other non-technical work, so a list of blockchain keywords is not a substitute for evidence of fit.
Start with the role, not the crypto keywords
Choose a specific opening before revising your résumé. Compare what it asks for with your experience, then make the most relevant qualifications easy to find. A smart-contract engineering résumé and a Web3 marketing résumé should not lead with the same skills or examples.

Web3.Career’s 2025 intelligence report discusses multiple job families, while Technology Ireland ICT Skillnet’s 2025 report describes skills across the Web3 workforce. Together, they support treating the sector as more than blockchain engineering; neither establishes one universal résumé template. - Capabilities and tools: Identify the skills explicitly requested and distinguish required experience from preferred qualifications.
- Seniority: Match the level of ownership and depth of evidence to the role.
- Deliverables: Determine what the person will build, improve, explain, analyze, or grow.
- Ecosystem or product: Note the relevant chain, protocol, application, or customer context.
- Location and eligibility: Check the live posting for work arrangement, location restrictions, and hiring eligibility.
Translate adjacent experience into Web3-relevant evidence
If your previous work was outside crypto, describe the connection rather than implying you already held a Web3 job. A designer might show how research and interface work improved a complex product flow; a project manager might explain delivery across technical teams; a marketer might document audience growth or campaign results. Make the context clear enough that a hiring manager can see how the experience applies.

Technology Ireland ICT Skillnet’s 2025 report quotes Women of Web3 content and partnerships director Níamh Linehan: “There are a lot of transferable skills that can be used in Web3,” alongside the need for “a working knowledge of the environment and the technology.” That is a useful balance for career changers: show relevant existing skills and enough understanding of the target product or technology to make the connection credible. Technology Ireland ICT Skillnet report (2025).
Make skills specific to the job and ecosystem
Name tools and technical skills precisely when you can demonstrate them. The Blockchain Council’s 2026 career guide lists examples for engineering such as Solidity, Vyper, Rust, Hardhat, Foundry, ethers.js, web3.js, and Anchor. These are examples across different ecosystems, not a checklist every applicant needs. Follow the vacancy’s stack and avoid claiming proficiency you cannot support with an explanation or work sample. Blockchain Council career guide, published May 20, 2026.
For non-engineering roles, foreground the skills relevant to the work: the ICT Skillnet report and Blockchain Council guide also discuss areas including security, data, UI/UX, marketing, writing, and project work. Choose the capabilities that match the posting instead of adding crypto terminology simply to appear sector-specific.

Link to evidence that helps assess your fit. Depending on the role, that might be code, a meaningful open-source contribution, a project, a case study, a dashboard, or published writing. Give each link context: what you did, what tools or constraints mattered, and what the result demonstrates. Use only work you are entitled to share.
Web3.Career’s 2025 report says candidates in competitive departments can stand out with verifiable credentials and endorsements, public proof of work such as GitHub, dashboards, and case studies, and a clear Web3-native profile. This makes visible, relevant work more useful than an unsupported claim of enthusiasm. Web3.Career Intelligence Report (2025).
Quantify outcomes when the figure is real and you can explain how it was measured. Depending on the work, useful evidence might describe scale, delivery time, reliability, security findings, community growth, or business results. Do not invent metrics or imply that a number proves more than it does.

Handle credentials and career changes honestly
Include a certification or credential when it is relevant and accurately described, but do not present it as a substitute for job-relevant skills or demonstrated work. The reviewed career guidance emphasizes practical projects, skills, and visible proof; it does not establish that a paid certification is necessary or that completing a course leads to a job.
Likewise, personal interest in crypto is not evidence of ability on its own. If it helps explain your motivation, keep it brief and give more space to what you have built, delivered, analyzed, or communicated.
Check remote and location details on the actual vacancy
Do not assume that “Web3” means fully remote or that a market-wide figure applies to the job you are considering. Web3.Career’s 2025 report states a 50% year-over-year reduction in remote jobs, but presents this as its report’s trend, not a universal count of all vacancies. Calyptus’s H1 2025 review found 73.8% remote, 14.8% hybrid, and 11.4% in-office among its analyzed sample of 400-plus roles; those shares describe that sample and period. Web3.Career Intelligence Report (2025); Calyptus H1 2025 review.
The figures differ in scope and should not be combined into a prediction for a particular employer. Confirm location, time-zone expectations, work authorization, and remote eligibility in the current posting or with the employer.
Quick Recap
A practical final review
- Does the résumé target this opening rather than Web3 in general?
- Are the most relevant capabilities and outcomes easy to spot?
- Can you substantiate every named tool, skill, credential, and metric?
- Do links lead to accessible work that directly supports your application?
- Have you checked the employer’s current location and work-arrangement requirements?
