Yes, but not by pairing a PS5 DualSense directly with the Switch. You need a compatible wireless USB adapter, such as 8BitDo’s USB Wireless Adapter 2, and some DualSense features will not work.
Can a PS5 DualSense pair directly with a Nintendo Switch?
No. The Switch’s standard controller-pairing process does not treat a DualSense like a Joy-Con or Switch Pro Controller. Nintendo’s controller-pairing FAQ covers supported Switch controllers, while Sony’s wireless-controller guidance does not list Nintendo Switch among the DualSense’s supported Bluetooth devices.

To use one, put a compatible adapter between the controller and console. 8BitDo lists PS5 controllers as compatible with its USB Wireless Adapter 2 and says the adapter connects wireless controllers to Switch. This is an adapter-based workaround, not native DualSense support.

How to connect a DualSense to Switch with 8BitDo’s adapter
These are the maker’s documented instructions for the USB Wireless Adapter 2. The manual specifies Nintendo Switch system version 3.0.0 or later.

- Pair the DualSense: hold CREATE + PS on the controller for three seconds to enter pairing mode.
- Confirm and reconnect: a solid adapter LED indicates pairing succeeded. After the initial pairing, press the controller’s PS button to reconnect.

Which DualSense features work?
The adapter lets the controller provide basic game control, but it does not carry every DualSense or Switch feature. 8BitDo’s manual lists these as unsupported:

The adapter FAQ also says adaptive triggers are unsupported. In particular, do not assume that a game’s trigger effects, advanced vibration, or console wake functions will behave as they do with a PS5.

What to check before trying it
- Use the documented USB Wireless Adapter 2 route; compatibility with one adapter does not establish that every wireless adapter will work.
- Check that your exact controller, adapter generation, firmware, and Switch setup match the current maker documentation.
- Have access to the Switch dock for the documented USB connection, and enable Pro Controller Wired Communication before pairing.
- Expect the adapter’s stated feature limits, including the inability to wake the console with the DualSense.
