NIOS materials say its video programmes are available on YouTube; that availability is not a licence for another channel to retransmit them. If you have permission, set up a verified, eligible YouTube channel, configure an encoder with the stream URL and key, and test the loop before sharing the broadcast.
First, confirm the lesson source and your right to rebroadcast it
NIOS student material says video programmes are available on YouTube, but it does not establish a blanket licence for continuous rebroadcast from another channel. Identify the exact subject, course, playlist or recording you plan to use, then obtain written permission from the relevant rights holder for continuous streaming on your proposed channel. Know the difference between NIOS’s existing services
NIOS’s Citizen’s Charter describes Mukta Vidya Vani as a 24/7 web-streamed audio service. That is separate from NIOS video programmes on YouTube; the audio service is not evidence that NIOS operates an official 24/7 YouTube video stream. NIOS also has a distinct Virtual Open School. Its website describes live interactive classes, recorded sessions and videos, and calls the platform optional for NIOS learners. Check the current NIOS site and student portal for present access conditions.
Check YouTube live-stream eligibility before setup
- The channel must be verified and have no live-streaming restriction in the preceding 90 days.
- YouTube’s live-start guidance says the person streaming must be at least 16 years old.
- Enable live streaming in advance. First-time activation can take up to 24 hours.
- You will need an encoder and the stream URL and stream key from YouTube Studio’s Live Control Room. Treat the key like a password; do not publish or share it.
These requirements and the activation timing are in YouTube’s live-stream eligibility guidance and encoder setup instructions. Rules and interface details can change, so check the current help pages before launch.

Choose how to keep the encoder running

YouTube’s encoder guide describes software, hardware and cloud approaches and lists verified encoder products, while noting those products are not made by YouTube. No particular product’s current price or performance is established here. A mini PC is one possible local host, not a requirement; check its specifications, cooling, power, network and restart behavior for continuous operation.
Set up an authorized 24/7 broadcast
- Prepare the playlist. Use only files you are authorized to stream. Check their order, duration, audio levels and transitions, and decide what should play when the final lesson ends.
- Enable live streaming. In the eligible channel, follow YouTube’s current live-stream activation flow and allow up to 24 hours for first-time enablement.
- Create the YouTube stream. In YouTube Studio, open the Live Control Room and create or schedule a stream. Select the appropriate stream settings there; YouTube’s encoder guide explains the workflow.
- Configure the encoder. Copy the stream URL and key from YouTube into the encoder. Keep the key private. Configure the playlist to repeat, if the encoder supports looping, and choose settings compatible with your source files and connection.
- Run a test before public launch. Use material you own or are licensed to use. Confirm the live preview and stream health, that the playlist returns to the intended start, and that picture and sound stay synchronized.
- Test interruption recovery. Check what happens after a brief internet or encoder interruption and verify that the stream resumes as intended. For a local setup, test power and restart behavior too. This is a production check, not a guarantee that a particular setup will recover automatically.
- Share the watch page only after checks pass. Monitor the broadcast after launch and keep the source recordings available in case you need to rebuild the playlist or schedule shorter sessions.

Plan replays, copyright and monetization separately
Do not rely on one 24/7 stream for a complete replay
YouTube says streams under 12 hours are automatically archived. A single uninterrupted 24/7 stream exceeds that stated archive window, so do not promise viewers a complete replay from it. Keep your source files and, if replays matter, consider planned shorter sessions and verify YouTube’s current archive guidance before launch. YouTube’s encoder setup page describes the under-12-hour archive rule.
Permission does not guarantee monetization eligibility
Copyright clearance and YouTube monetization review are separate. YouTube may interrupt a live stream for copyright issues or Community Guidelines strikes. Its monetization policy also says minimally changed material republished from other sources can be ineligible under reused-content rules, even if permission exists. Do not promise that an authorized lesson loop will be monetized. Read YouTube’s live copyright guidance and YouTube’s channel monetization policy.

Troubleshoot common setup problems
- Live option is unavailable: Confirm channel verification and check for live-streaming restrictions. If you just enabled live streaming, allow up to 24 hours for activation.
- The encoder cannot connect: Recheck that the stream URL and key were copied into the correct fields and that the stream is active in Live Control Room. If the key may have been exposed, replace it in YouTube Studio and update the encoder.
- The stream stops when you leave: A local software encoder depends on the host computer, its power and its network staying available. Check sleep settings, cooling, connectivity and restart behavior, or choose a cloud approach.
- The playlist does not repeat as expected: Test the loop before launch, including the transition from the final file to the first. Check the encoder’s playlist and repeat settings.
- The stream is interrupted over rights concerns: Review the rights for every recording and embedded element, and respond to YouTube’s notices. Do not assume that a file being viewable on YouTube proves that you may retransmit it.
- There is no complete replay: A continuous 24/7 session is longer than YouTube’s stated automatic archive window for streams under 12 hours. Use planned shorter sessions if archives are needed and check the current guidance.
