Windows Errors? Fix Them Before They Spread
Repair common Windows errors and clear accumulated junk for a smoother, more stable PC - no reinstall needed.Free scan · no reinstallCrashes, No Sound, or Screen Glitches?
Random freezes, missing sound and display glitches usually trace back to one bad driver. Find and replace yours safely.Free scan · under a minuteUse OBS Studio to capture the radio program, show it with an audio-reactive visualizer, and send the combined audio and video to YouTube Live. The visualizer is part of the OBS scene; OBS is the encoder that carries the stream. Before broadcasting, confirm you have permission to retransmit the station’s audio and music on YouTube, including any archive you plan to keep.
Before you start: confirm the rights and YouTube access
A radio stream being publicly playable does not mean you have permission to rebroadcast it. Get written confirmation from the station and relevant music rightsholders that the permission covers a YouTube live simulcast, your intended territories, and—if applicable—recording and playback of an archive. Ask the rightsholder to add your channel to YouTube’s Content ID allowlist where needed. YouTube says a live stream can still be interrupted without allowlisting even if you have a license or restrict the stream to territories where you hold rights. See YouTube’s live-stream copyright guidance and guidance for licensed content and Content ID allowlisting.

YouTube scans live streams for matches to third-party content. If it detects a match, it may show a placeholder and warn you; if the content remains, the stream may be interrupted or terminated. If you choose to archive a live stream, YouTube says Content ID claims on archived live streams are made after the broadcast ends. Treat the archive as a separate rights question and confirm that your permission covers it. The applicable legal requirements depend on the station, rightsholders, territory, and license; the stream setup alone cannot determine them.

Route the radio audio into OBS
The right audio path depends on how you receive the station: it could be an app or browser on the streaming computer, another device, or an analog receiver. There is no single routing setting that applies to all of those arrangements. First identify the device or application that carries the program, then select the corresponding audio source in OBS and confirm that its mixer meter moves when the radio plays.
- Open OBS and create or select the scene you intend to stream.
- In the Sources panel, add the appropriate audio input or capture source for the device or application carrying the radio. The exact source and configuration depend on your operating system and signal path.
- Play the radio and watch the OBS Audio Mixer. Confirm the intended source shows activity. If the meter is silent, check the selected device, application output, system audio routing, and mute controls before continuing.
- Listen to the scene’s output, if possible, to make sure it contains the intended program and no unwanted desktop sounds, alerts, or duplicate audio.
OBS’s Quick Start Guide explains adding sources and configuring audio. YouTube also supports standalone hardware encoders, but a hardware encoder or audio interface is not required for this software-based workflow.

Build the scene and add an audio visualizer
- Add a visual base, such as a station image, title card, or other visual you have permission to use.
- Add an audio visualizer source or plugin compatible with your installed OBS version. Select the OBS audio source that carries the radio program as the visualizer’s input.
- Arrange and size the visualizer in the preview. Play the program and verify that the display reacts to that audio—not merely to another desktop or microphone source.
- Check the complete scene for legible text, suitable cropping, and any image or artwork permissions that apply.
The OBS Project Forums resource page lists Waveform 1.9.1, last updated July 14, 2026. Its listed features include spectrum curves, bars, stepped bars, circular variants, peak and RMS meters, and waveform displays. The resource lists OBS Studio 27.0.0 as its minimum and support for Windows, macOS, and Linux; check the resource page against your installed OBS release before installing. A separate Live Audio Visualizer repository documents normal, mirrored, and radial bars and requires OBS Studio 31.1.1 or later. These are version-specific compatibility details, not a guarantee that a plugin will work with every system configuration.
Connect OBS to YouTube Live
- In YouTube Studio, open Live Control Room and create or schedule a stream. Follow the current prompts for stream details and settings.
- Copy the stream’s server URL and stream key from YouTube’s encoder setup details.
- In OBS, open Settings and then Stream. Choose YouTube or the appropriate custom service option, and enter the server URL and stream key as required by the selected connection method.
- Apply the settings, return to the scene, and start streaming from OBS. For a scheduled YouTube stream, wait for the preview to appear in Live Control Room, check it, and select Go live when ready.
Treat the stream key like a password: do not show it on screen or share it. If you believe it has been exposed, replace or reset it in YouTube Studio and update OBS with the new key. For current YouTube setup steps, use its live encoder guide; interface labels can change.

- PLUG IN AND HEAR SOUND IN SECONDS - USB Type-A connector with a 3.5mm stereo headphone output and a separate 3.5mm mono microphone input. No drivers, no software, no external power - the adapter is USB bus-powered and is recognized as a standard USB audio device.
- WORKS ON WINDOWS, MAC AND LINUX - Driverless on Windows 98SE/ME/2000/XP/Server 2003/Vista/7/8, Linux and Mac OSX, and compliant with the USB Audio Device Class 1.0 specification, so any system that supports class-compliant USB audio will see it. Select it as the sound output and input device after plugging it in.
- TWO JACKS, TWO JOBS - The green jack is stereo OUT for headphones or powered speakers; the pink jack is mono microphone IN for a 3.5mm mic. It does NOT support 4-pole headsets on a single combo plug, it does NOT power passive speakers, and it does NOT add surround sound - it is a stereo 2-channel adapter.
- FOR LAPTOPS AND DESKTOPS THAT NEED AN AUDIO PORT BACK - Adds a headphone and mic port to a laptop, desktop, or mini PC whose onboard jack has failed or was never there. Managed and work-issued computers can block new USB audio devices by policy - check with your IT department before ordering for a company machine.
- SABRENT SUPPORT AND WARRANTY - What is in the box: one USB audio sound adapter. Backed by a 1-year limited warranty, extended to 2 years when you register within 90 days on the manufacturer's website.
Test the whole signal before announcing the broadcast
- Audio: The correct OBS mixer meter moves, and the stream output contains the radio program at an appropriate level without unintended system sounds.
- Visualizer: The bars or waveform respond to the radio source selected in the plugin.
- Video: The YouTube preview shows the intended scene and the visualizer is visible and not obscured.
- Connection: YouTube receives the OBS feed before you invite viewers.
- Rights: The station and relevant rightsholders have approved the live use, territories, archive plans, and any needed Content ID allowlisting.
OBS recommends a short test before a first stream rather than going live without checking. Its Quick Start Guide includes that advice. A successful preview confirms the technical feed is reaching YouTube; it does not establish that the audio is cleared for broadcast.
Keep the stream running: local OBS or cloud playback
With OBS on your own computer, the scene and encoder depend on that computer, its power, and its network remaining available. A dedicated hardware encoder is another supported route for advanced setups, but it does not change the permission requirements. The sources reviewed do not establish a specific paid hosted service as necessary for this radio-and-visualizer workflow.

Or let it run in the cloud
For a different use case—keeping uploaded recordings playing as a continuous YouTube stream—StreamNeo runs the playback in the cloud. It does not take a live feed from a radio receiver or camera, so it is not a replacement for routing a station’s live audio into an OBS visualizer.
Quick wins for a faster PC:

Troubleshoot common problems
- OBS meters do not move: Check that the radio is playing, the correct input or capture source is selected, the application or system routes audio to that device, and neither OBS nor the source is muted.
- The meter moves but the visualizer is still: Open the visualizer’s settings and select the specific OBS source carrying the radio. Confirm plugin compatibility with your OBS version and that the source is enabled in the scene.
- YouTube preview has no sound: Check the OBS mixer and audio output configuration, then verify that the YouTube stream is receiving the intended audio. Avoid assuming that a moving visualizer proves the encoded stream includes sound.
- YouTube does not receive the stream: Recheck the server URL and stream key in OBS against the current YouTube stream details. Confirm OBS is actually streaming and that your connection is available.
- A copyright warning, placeholder, or interruption appears: Stop and follow YouTube’s notice. Resolve the rights issue with the relevant station or rightsholder; if the material is licensed, ask about channel allowlisting. Changing encoders does not remove copyright obligations.
- The archive receives a claim after the broadcast: Review the archive rights separately. YouTube says claims for archived live streams are made after the stream ends when it is archived; confirm your permission covers recording and playback.
FAQ
Can I add any public internet radio station to OBS?
OBS can capture audio from a suitable source, but technical accessibility is not permission to rebroadcast. Obtain authorization for the intended YouTube use before streaming.
Do I need a separate visualizer device?
No. This workflow uses a visualizer source in an OBS scene; a physical device is not part of the basic software setup.
