Outbyte Driver Updater FREEScan for outdated or missing drivers - takes under a minuteDriver Scan →Outbyte PC Repair FREERepair Windows errors before they cause bigger problemsFix Now →Short answer: YouTube documents live streaming with an encoder, but its published instructions do not establish a way for an Android TV box to loop podcast episodes and stream them directly to YouTube Live. Treat the box as a possible playback source for a separate encoder—not as a proven, self-contained streaming solution—and verify the exact box, audio and capture setup before relying on it.
What an Android TV box can—and cannot—do here
YouTube’s documented encoder workflow requires an encoder configured with YouTube’s server URL and stream key. YouTube lists software and standalone hardware encoders, but its instructions do not provide an Android TV app, playlist-looping procedure or direct-casting workflow for continuously broadcasting podcast episodes. YouTube’s encoder guidance therefore does not confirm that a particular Android TV box can do this by itself.

YouTube separately documents live streaming from the Android mobile app as a camera-based flow. Its Android mobile documentation specifies Android Marshmallow (API 23), 720p at 30 Hz and YouTube app 13.02 for that flow; these details are not Android TV compatibility requirements and do not show how to stream a playlist of podcast episodes. See Google’s Android mobile live documentation.
The practical distinction is important: playing a playlist on a TV box is not the same as sending a continuous encoder feed to YouTube. A box might supply video and audio to a separate computer or hardware encoder, but compatibility depends on the particular box, output, capture device, audio route and any content-protection behavior. The cited YouTube documentation does not verify a specific box or capture-card combination.

Check YouTube channel eligibility first
Before assembling equipment, confirm the channel can go live. YouTube says the channel must be verified and have no live-stream restrictions in the preceding 90 days. Enabling live streaming for the first time can take up to 24 hours. Review the current requirements in YouTube’s live-streaming access guidance.
- Sign in to the YouTube channel that will host the broadcast and verify its live-streaming access.
- Check for any live-stream restrictions affecting the channel.
- If live streaming has just been enabled, allow for the activation period before troubleshooting the encoder.
How to try an Android TV box with a separate encoder
This is a conditional DIY arrangement, not a YouTube-verified Android TV procedure. Do not buy a capture device until you have checked compatibility with the exact box and encoder you intend to use.

- The Google TV Streamer (4K) delivers your favorite entertainment quickly, easily, and personalized to you[1,2]
- HDMI 2.1 cable required (sold separately)
- See movies and TV shows from all your services right from your home screen[2]; and find new things to watch with tailored recommendations for everyone in your home based on their interests and viewing habits
- Watch live TV and access over 800 free channels from Pluto TV, Tubi, and more[3]; if you find an interesting show or movie on your TV, mobile app, or Google search, you can easily add it to your watchlist, so it’s ready when you are[2]
- Up to 4K HDR with Dolby Vision delivers captivating, true-to-life detail[4]; and you can connect speakers that support Dolby Atmos for more immersive 3D sound
- Prepare the podcast playlist on the Android TV box. Confirm that the playback app can play the episodes in the intended order and repeat them without stopping. The YouTube documentation cited here does not establish which Android TV apps support unattended looping, so test the app yourself for a full cycle, including the transition between episodes.
- Plan the signal path. The box must provide a usable video and audio output to an external encoder. One possible inferred bridge is an HDMI capture card connected to a computer running encoder software. Check that the capture device accepts the box’s output resolution and carries the required audio; also check whether content protection prevents capture. A capture card alone does not encode or send a YouTube stream.
- Test playback and capture before creating a long broadcast. Confirm that the encoder receives both picture and sound, that the audio stays synchronized, and that episode changes do not interrupt the feed. Test any standby, screen-saver or power-saving behavior that could stop playback. The exact settings and compatibility depend on the devices and encoder software; YouTube’s cited material does not specify settings for this Android TV arrangement.
- Create or select a live stream in YouTube Studio. In the encoder setup, obtain the YouTube server URL and stream key. YouTube’s documented workflow is to enter those details in the encoder, then start sending the feed. Keep the stream key private: anyone who has it may be able to send a broadcast to the channel.
- Start the encoder and verify the live feed. Confirm that YouTube receives the intended picture and audio before leaving the setup unattended. Monitor the first transitions between episodes and check that the box, capture path and encoder continue running.
- End the broadcast from the encoder. YouTube’s instruction is: “To end the stream, stop sending content from your encoder.”
Plan for continuous operation and archives
A continuous broadcast depends on the source continuing to play and the encoder continuing to send content. YouTube’s API documentation discusses broadcast and stream resources, including a case where a 24/7 broadcast continues while video is not stopped, but that does not establish an Android TV box solution or guarantee playlist looping. See YouTube’s Live Streaming API documentation.

One free scan finds every outdated or missing driver and matches the right update for your exact hardware.Free scan · exact hardware matchDo not assume a very long broadcast will become one complete replay. YouTube says streams under 12 hours are automatically archived; its encoder guidance does not promise a single archive for a stream that lasts longer than 12 hours. If a complete replay matters, plan broadcasts and archive checks around that limit rather than relying on one uninterrupted, longer-than-12-hour stream.

Use podcast audio and video you have rights to stream
YouTube scans live streams for third-party content. If detected content remains in the broadcast, YouTube may replace the stream image, interrupt the stream or terminate it. A licence by itself may not prevent interruption: YouTube says a rights owner may need to allowlist the channel through Content ID. Read YouTube’s live-stream copyright guidance.
- Use episodes and accompanying artwork or video that you own or are authorized to broadcast live.
- If you rely on a licence, confirm whether the rights owner has allowlisted the channel through Content ID where required.
- Do not treat a successful upload or a previously published episode as proof that the same material is cleared for a continuous live broadcast.
Troubleshooting the likely failure points
| Symptom | What to check |
|---|---|
| YouTube does not receive a stream | Confirm that live streaming is enabled for the channel, then check that the encoder has the correct server URL and stream key and is actively sending content. |
| Picture appears but there is no sound | Check that audio is present at the Android TV output and is being carried through the capture device into the encoder. The cited sources do not verify audio routing for any particular box or capture card. |
| The feed stops between episodes | Test the playback app’s repeat or playlist behavior and confirm that the encoder remains active when one episode ends. YouTube’s documentation does not establish an Android TV app that loops podcast episodes for this use. |
| The box plays normally but capture is blank or fails | Check output and capture-device compatibility, including resolution and content-protection behavior. The cited sources do not confirm compatibility for a specific device pairing. |
| The stream is interrupted after copyrighted material appears | Review the channel’s rights and any required Content ID allowlisting. YouTube may interrupt or terminate a live stream when it detects third-party content. |
| A long broadcast has no single complete archive | Account for YouTube’s stated automatic-archive scope: streams under 12 hours are automatically archived; a single archive for a longer stream is not promised in the cited encoder guidance. |
Or let it run in the cloud
If the goal is to keep uploaded podcast episodes looping on YouTube without leaving an Android TV box, computer or home connection running, StreamNeo is a cloud alternative. Upload the recording or build a playlist, add your YouTube stream key, and go live. StreamNeo loops uploaded videos from the cloud; it does not stream a camera feed.
