You can run devotional songs as a YouTube Live loop from India with an encoder such as OBS, a verified channel that is eligible to go live, a reliable internet connection, and permission to stream every composition and recording in your playlist. For a continuous broadcast, set up the playlist and encoder, test the stream, then monitor YouTube Studio. A cloud service is an alternative if you do not want a computer and home connection running continuously. Neither method grants music rights or guarantees monetization.
What you need before starting
- An eligible YouTube channel: YouTube’s current eligibility guidance says the channel must be verified and have no live-stream restrictions in the previous 90 days. It also says streamers must be at least 16. Check your channel’s status and current requirements in YouTube Studio before planning a broadcast. YouTube: Get started with live streaming
- Rights for every track: Clear the musical work, lyrics where applicable, and the particular sound recording for your planned live online use.
- A streaming method: For a repeatable prerecorded playlist, use an encoder on a computer or a hosted service designed for continuous streaming. Encoder streams offer more control than simple mobile or webcam workflows. YouTube: Live encoder settings, bitrates, and resolutions
- A reliable upload connection: Choose output settings your connection can sustain and test before going live.
Clear music rights before building the playlist
“Devotional” describes a song’s subject, not its copyright status. A composition and its lyrics can have different rights from a particular recording of that song. A traditional melody or a free download is not automatically permission to broadcast the version you have.

YouTube’s livestream terms put responsibility on the content provider to have the rights needed for live content, including applicable music rights. In India, IPRS describes performing rights in musical works and associated lyrics, including broadcasting and transmission. IPRS may be relevant when investigating musical-work permissions, but an IPRS licence should not be assumed to clear a specific sound recording, every rightsholder, or your precise YouTube use. Ask IPRS and the recording’s owner or rightsholder what permissions apply to the exact repertoire, recording, channel, territory, and use.

Support for VISCA over IP encoder workflows enables flexible PTZ control, while the dashboard provides video preview and system status.
Ask about Content ID before going live
YouTube scans live streams for matches to third-party content. A match can trigger a warning or placeholder, and continued use may interrupt or terminate the stream. If you have a licence, ask the rights holder whether they use Content ID and, if so, request that your channel be added to its allowlist before the broadcast. An archived live stream may also receive Content ID claims after it ends. YouTube: Copyright issues with live streams
Creator Music is not live-stream clearance
YouTube says Creator Music does not support licensing for live content. Its licensing and revenue-sharing routes are for eligible long-form uploads, not live streams or Shorts. The cited Creator Music guidance says availability for creators outside the United States was pending; check YouTube’s current rules and availability rather than relying on a catalogue listing for a live-use licence. Set up a local YouTube Live loop with OBS
This method gives you direct control over the encoder and playlist, but the computer, network, and streaming process must remain available for the broadcast to continue. OBS is free, open-source software that its help page says may be used commercially, without a watermark or usage limits. OBS Help

- Prepare the playlist. Assemble only recordings for which you have confirmed live-stream permissions. Make sure the files play correctly and in the intended order. Set up repeat or looping in the playback source or workflow you plan to use; confirm that playback continues through the end of the list and restarts as intended.
- Enable and schedule YouTube Live. In YouTube Studio, use Create → Go live to open the live control room. Complete any channel verification or first-time activation steps YouTube requests, then create or schedule the stream. Check the control room for restrictions or notices before connecting an encoder.
- Configure OBS video and audio. Add the playlist playback as a media source or capture the player displaying it. Set the canvas and output resolution to the level you can sustain. Confirm that the audio meter moves, that the correct audio is selected, and that no desktop alerts or unintended audio will be broadcast.
- Connect OBS to YouTube. In YouTube Studio’s live control room, copy the stream key and enter it in OBS’s stream settings, or use YouTube’s available account connection. Treat the key like a password: do not show it on screen or share it. Prefer YouTube’s RTMPS ingestion option where available.
- Set output to match your connection. YouTube’s current encoder guidance lists H.264, H.265, and AV1 for RTMP/RTMPS, AAC or MP3 audio, constant bitrate encoding, and a recommended two-second keyframe interval; do not exceed four seconds. For H.264, YouTube recommends 4 Mbps for 240p–720p at 30 fps, 6 Mbps for 720p at 60 fps, and 10 Mbps for 1080p at 30 fps. These are YouTube recommendations, not a guarantee that a particular connection can sustain them; consult its current table for other resolutions and frame rates. YouTube: Live encoder settings, bitrates, and resolutions
- Test privately or unlisted. Before a public continuous broadcast, send a representative test stream and check picture, audio, playlist restart, stream health, and Studio messages. YouTube recommends testing before going live and monitoring stream health during the event. Run an upload-speed test and leave headroom rather than setting a bitrate at the limit of a fluctuating connection.
- Start the broadcast and monitor it. Start streaming from OBS, confirm that YouTube receives a healthy signal, then start the live broadcast in Studio if the control room requires that step. Keep an eye on stream-health warnings and audio/video playback. Respond to notices promptly, including copyright alerts.
Choose between a local encoder and a hosted service
There are two operation models for a prerecorded continuous YouTube broadcast. The local route gives you hands-on encoder control but depends on your computer, network, and process staying up. A hosted service shifts continuous operation to the provider. Neither route creates music rights or bypasses YouTube’s copyright checks. Compare current prices, support, terms, and continuity details directly before choosing; no numeric cost comparison is established here.

|---|---|---|---|
| Local encoder such as OBS | Your computer, network, and encoder process must keep running. | More direct control and customisation of the encoder workflow. | You still need permissions, and YouTube’s live scanning and claims can apply. |

A continuous live stream is not an automatic path to monetization. YouTube’s channel monetization policy expects original and authentic content; repetitive or mass-produced output may be ineligible under its inauthentic-content policy. Copyright rules apply independently, and Creator Music licensing or revenue sharing does not cover live streams. Do not assume that a loop of devotional recordings will qualify for monetization simply because it is live or properly configured. YouTube channel monetization policies

Troubleshoot common problems
- You cannot start a live stream: Verify the channel, check that live streaming is enabled, and review YouTube Studio for a restriction. Confirm that the account meets YouTube’s current age and eligibility requirements.
- YouTube shows a copyright warning or placeholder: Stop or change the affected content. Check the exact recording and rights documentation; if you have a licence, contact the rights holder about Content ID allowlisting. Do not assume a licence automatically prevents a live interruption.
- The stream is unstable or buffering: Check YouTube’s stream-health messages and run an upload-speed test. Reduce output bitrate or resolution until the connection can sustain it reliably, then test again. Use YouTube’s current encoder recommendations rather than copying a setting for a different resolution or frame rate.
- There is no sound or the wrong audio is playing: Check the OBS source’s audio routing and meter, then listen to the test stream from another device. Confirm that the intended playlist player is selected and that no unwanted desktop audio is included.
- The playlist stops instead of looping: Check the playback source’s repeat setting and test past the final track before broadcasting publicly. A live encoder cannot loop media that its playback source has stopped delivering.
- The stream disconnects: Check the local network and encoder process, reconnect using the current stream key if needed, and inspect Studio for copyright or stream-health notices. For a hosted workflow, check the provider’s service status and support guidance; do not treat automatic recovery as a substitute for rights clearance.
