You can stream devotional bhajans continuously on YouTube with Streamlabs Desktop by enabling live streaming on your channel, connecting the encoder, setting up an authorized audio/video source, and keeping the computer and internet connection running. A local Streamlabs setup is not an uptime guarantee: plan to monitor it and recover if the source, software, power, network, or YouTube stream fails. Before going live, confirm that you have the rights to stream each recording and composition.
What you need before starting
- A YouTube channel with live streaming enabled. First-time activation can take up to 24 hours, according to YouTube’s encoder streaming instructions.
- Streamlabs Desktop installed and signed in, or the YouTube server URL and stream key for a manual encoder connection.
- A computer, a stable internet connection capable of sustaining your chosen output, and a bhajan audio/video source you are authorized to use.
- A plan for monitoring the stream and restarting it if something stops. A local computer must remain powered on and connected for the broadcast to continue.
For a devotional broadcast, a still image or visualizer can accompany the audio, but the visual should be appropriate and the underlying recording must be cleared for streaming. Do not treat a traditional composition or an online recording as automatically copyright-free.

Enable YouTube Live and create the stream
- Open YouTube Studio and go to Live Control Room. If this is the channel’s first live broadcast, enable live streaming and allow time for activation; YouTube says this can take up to 24 hours.
- Create a stream in Live Control Room. Add the title, description, visibility, and other stream details. Schedule it if you want viewers to find it in advance.
- Locate the encoder connection details. YouTube’s encoder workflow provides a server URL and stream key. Keep the key private: anyone with access may be able to send video to your stream.
- Leave Live Control Room available for checking whether YouTube is receiving a signal and for reviewing stream health after the encoder starts.

- Open Streamlabs Desktop and sign in with the YouTube account you intend to broadcast from. Streamlabs documents a direct YouTube sign-in and setup flow; the current interface labels may change.
- If prompted, authorize Streamlabs to access the channel. Alternatively, use the manual encoder option in Streamlabs and enter the YouTube server URL and stream key from Live Control Room.
- Set the stream title, description, category, and thumbnail in Streamlabs if those options are available in your current setup. Check the corresponding YouTube stream details before going live.
- Build a scene and add the sources needed for the broadcast. For prerecorded bhajans, select the media source or playlist arrangement you intend to play and add an appropriate visual if desired.
- Check the preview and audio meters. Confirm that the bhajan is audible, the picture is correct, and no unrelated desktop content or notifications are visible.

Choose settings your computer and connection can sustain
Resolution, encoder choice, and bitrate affect both the output and the load on the local computer or network. Streamlabs recommends 1280×720 as a balance for many systems, but that is a vendor recommendation rather than a universal requirement. Begin with settings your hardware and connection can sustain, then check the encoder and YouTube stream-health indicators.
- Resolution: Streamlabs describes resolution as a trade-off between image quality and computer performance. Its getting-started guidance points to 1280×720 as a reasonable starting point for many systems; choose lower if your machine struggles.
- Encoder: x264 uses the CPU. NVENC uses compatible NVIDIA GPU hardware. Choose based on available hardware and monitor whether encoding remains stable.
- Bitrate and connection: Configure a bitrate that your internet connection can maintain continuously. Streamlabs warns that insufficient connection capacity for the selected bitrate can cause dropped frames. A wired Ethernet connection is an optional practical choice when available, not a requirement or a guarantee against outages.
- Sources: Verify that the media source continues to play through the intended playlist or loop. A running encoder cannot compensate for a source that has ended or gone silent.

Start the broadcast and keep it running
- Run a short controlled test. Confirm in Streamlabs that the intended audio and visual are present and in YouTube Live Control Room that a signal is arriving.
- When ready, use Streamlabs’ current go-live confirmation flow. Streamlabs documents a “Confirm & Go Live” step, though exact labels can change.
- Check YouTube Live Control Room after the stream begins. Look for a healthy incoming signal and verify playback from a viewer’s perspective where practical.
- For continuous operation, keep the computer powered on, Streamlabs running, the media source active, and the network connected. Disable sleep or automatic shutdown if those settings would interrupt the broadcast.
- Assign someone to notice interruptions and restart the encoder or source when needed. Plan for power loss, software crashes, a dropped connection, a stopped playlist, or YouTube stopping the stream.
“24/7” describes the intended schedule, not guaranteed uninterrupted service. Streamlabs Desktop runs on your computer, so the broadcast depends on that machine and its connection continuing to work.
Copyright and YouTube interruptions
Clear rights for both the musical composition and the particular sound recording. They may have different rights holders, and permission should cover the YouTube livestream as well as any replay or archive you intend to make available.

YouTube states: “All live streams are scanned for matches to third-party content, including copyrighted content in the form of another live broadcast.” If it detects third-party content, YouTube may replace the stream with a placeholder image and warn you to stop using the content; continued use can lead to temporary interruption or termination. YouTube also notes that licensed content may still interrupt a live stream unless the rights holder has allowlisted the channel through Content ID. See YouTube’s copyright guidance for live streams.
- Do not assume that devotional subject matter, an old composition, or a recording found online is cleared for broadcast.
- Get permission from the relevant rights holders before streaming. If a rights holder requires Content ID allowlisting, ask them to allowlist the channel before the broadcast.
- If YouTube interrupts the stream, check Live Control Room for the notice and resolve the rights issue before restarting with the same material.
Will YouTube save the full 24-hour stream?
YouTube says streams under 12 hours are automatically archived after they end. That stated automatic-archive condition does not establish that a single 24-hour session will produce a complete replay. If a full archive matters, use shorter sessions and verify the resulting video in YouTube Studio rather than relying on a complete 24-hour recording.

Troubleshooting a bhajan livestream
