To make a product-training playlist appear as a continuous YouTube Live broadcast, send its videos to YouTube through an encoder or streaming service. Looping a playlist in YouTube’s watch player only repeats playback for a viewer; it does not create a live stream.
Choose how to keep the broadcast running
YouTube accepts a live feed from an encoder. Its guidance describes software encoders running on a computer, standalone hardware encoders, and Gyre as a cloud-based option for 24/7 streaming of prerecorded videos. Choose based on whether you want to operate a local device or keep the feed independent of your own computer. YouTube does not provide a neutral feature-by-feature comparison of encoder products.

- Local software encoder: Your computer runs the encoder and must stay on and connected for the stream to continue.
- Standalone hardware encoder: YouTube lists hardware encoders as a supported category; check the device maker’s instructions for playlist and looping controls.
- Cloud service: A service designed for prerecorded continuous streams can run the feed remotely. Check how it handles playlist order, transitions, and recovery after an interruption.
Prepare your channel and training videos
Check live-stream access
Your YouTube channel must be verified and must not have live-streaming restrictions in the previous 90 days. First-time live-stream activation may take up to 24 hours, so enable it before the planned start rather than waiting until the last minute. See YouTube’s live-streaming setup guidance and encoder guidance.
Confirm rights and suitability
Clear the rights for every training video, music track, image, and other included material before broadcasting. A training playlist is not exempt from copyright rules because it is prerecorded. YouTube’s encoder guidance explains the connection and broadcast workflow, but does not establish a universal playlist-import or repeat procedure; those controls depend on the encoder or service you choose.

Plan the training sequence
Arrange videos in the order that makes sense for someone joining partway through. Consider adding a short opening slate or chapter title within the video files so viewers can understand what is playing when they arrive. Test transitions and audio levels in the chosen encoder before relying on the stream for training access.
Create the YouTube Live event and connect the encoder
- Open Live Control Room: In YouTube Studio, select Create → Go Live, then create or select the stream in Live Control Room. Schedule the event if viewers need advance notice.
- Copy the connection details: Copy the stream URL and stream key from YouTube into the encoder or service. Treat the key like a password: YouTube says it identifies where the encoder sends the feed and lets YouTube accept it. Do not publish it or share it with people who should not control the stream. See YouTube’s stream settings guidance.
- Configure the prerecorded feed: Add the training videos to the encoder or service, arrange their order, and enable continuous playback or looping using that tool’s own controls. Verify how it behaves at the end of the playlist and between videos; controls vary by product.
- Start the encoder and inspect preview: Start sending the feed and wait for it to appear in the Live Control Room preview. Check picture, audio, and the selected event before proceeding.
- Go live and verify access: When the preview is ready, select Go Live. Check the watch page and channel page, including on a mobile device, to confirm that viewers can reach the broadcast.
Test and operate the stream responsibly
- Test the full playlist, including its beginning, transitions, and repeat point, before the public broadcast.
- Monitor audio and video while live. YouTube’s live-streaming tips recommend testing beforehand and monitoring quality during the event: YouTube live-streaming tips.
- Plan for a dropped connection or encoder interruption. Confirm whether your selected tool resumes automatically and check the Live Control Room after any interruption.
- Make an archive plan rather than assuming an indefinitely running event will produce a complete replay. YouTube says streams under 12 hours are automatically archived; for longer streams, automatic archiving is not assured. DVR rewind may also be limited or unavailable on streams longer than 12 hours. See YouTube’s archive guidance and DVR settings guidance. If viewers need a reliable training recording, separately record or divide the broadcast and test the resulting archives.
Troubleshoot common problems
No preview appears in Live Control Room
Confirm that the encoder is running, the stream URL and key were copied correctly, and the channel is enabled for live streaming. If live access was just activated, allow up to 24 hours for first-time activation.

The stream starts but the playlist stops
Check the encoder’s repeat or continuous-play setting and confirm that the playlist contains the intended files. The repeat control is product-specific; YouTube’s watch-player loop setting does not control an encoder’s outgoing live feed.
