How to Stream a Pre-Recorded YouTube Live Playlist in Spanish

Use OBS’s VLC Video source to loop prerecorded files as a YouTube Live broadcast, then send the feed through Live Control Room.
Special offer. See more information about Outbyte and uninstall instructions. Please review EULA and Privacy policy.

To stream a pre-recorded playlist as a YouTube Live broadcast in Spanish, play the video files through an encoder such as OBS Studio and send the resulting feed to YouTube Live. Put the playlist in OBS’s VLC Video source—not in a regular YouTube playlist—then connect OBS with the stream URL and key from YouTube Live Control Room. The spoken or on-screen language of your videos can be Spanish; the technical setup is the same.

What you need before you start

  • A verified YouTube channel with no live-streaming restrictions in the previous 90 days. YouTube says first-time live-streaming enablement may take up to 24 hours, so enable it well before the broadcast. YouTube’s encoder guide and live-streaming tips cover eligibility and setup timing.
  • Video files stored on the computer running OBS, and permission to broadcast them. A playlist does not grant rights to its music, footage, or other content.
  • OBS Studio and VLC installed. OBS’s VLC Video source requires VLC and is the option documented for a playlist of multiple files. OBS media-source documentation
  • A stable internet connection and enough available upload bandwidth for the encoder’s outgoing stream. The exact bitrate depends on your chosen resolution and frame rate; use YouTube’s current encoder settings rather than guessing a universal value.

Build and test the playlist in OBS

  1. Install VLC, then open OBS. Create or select a scene for the broadcast. In Sources, click + and choose VLC Video Source. If that source is missing, confirm VLC is installed, then restart OBS.
  2. Add your files. In the source properties, add the local video files to the playlist. Arrange them in the intended order, or choose shuffle if you want randomized playback. Enable Loop Playlist if the sequence should repeat. These playlist controls are documented by OBS.
  3. Check the picture and sound. Fit the source to the canvas, confirm the desired resolution and frame rate in OBS, and watch the audio meters while a clip plays. Ensure that audio is audible and balanced across files; check for black gaps or unexpected pauses between clips.
  4. Run the entire sequence before going live. Verify clip order, endings, transitions, and loop behavior. Close or silence desktop notifications and remove any other sources that could show unrelated windows or content. The playlist controls are part of OBS; this end-to-end check is an operational precaution.

Create or schedule the YouTube Live event

  1. In YouTube Studio, select Create > Go live. Create a stream, or open the Manage tab to schedule one. Scheduling can provide a shareable URL and let viewers set reminders. See YouTube’s encoder guide and scheduling and live-streaming tips.
  2. Open the event in Live Control Room and locate the stream URL and stream key. Keep the key private: anyone with access to it may be able to send a feed to your stream.
  3. If this is your first time streaming, allow up to 24 hours for YouTube to enable live streaming on the channel. Confirm eligibility before you plan a public event. YouTube Help

Connect OBS and start the broadcast

  1. In OBS, open Settings > Stream. Select YouTube as the service if available, then enter the stream key from Live Control Room. If using a custom server option, enter the stream URL and key shown for the event.
  2. Choose the transport protocol supported by your encoder and the settings shown in Live Control Room. YouTube recommends RTMPS, the secure version of RTMP. Verify the current endpoint and settings in the event before going live. YouTube encoder settings
  3. Start the playlist in OBS, then click Start Streaming. For a scheduled event, wait for the encoder preview to appear in Live Control Room, check audio and picture, and click Go live there to begin the public broadcast.

Test, monitor, and end cleanly

YouTube recommends configuring the encoder at least two hours before the event and starting it at least 15 minutes before the scheduled time. These are recommendations, not guaranteed processing times. Use the lead time to check the Live Control Room preview, confirm the stream is accessible, and monitor sound and video after it begins. When the broadcast is over, end it in Live Control Room and stop streaming in OBS. YouTube says streams under 12 hours are automatically archived and can be found in YouTube Studio’s Live area; do not assume an automatic archive for a longer stream based on that guidance. YouTube encoder guide

Copyright, reused content, and monetization

Only include recordings you have permission to broadcast. A Spanish-language song, devotional recording, film clip, or compilation can still contain copyrighted material even if it is widely available online or credited to its creator. YouTube may restrict a live stream when it detects third-party content; check the channel and content rights before scheduling rather than treating a successful OBS test as proof of permission.

Troubleshooting common problems

  • VLC Video source is not available: install VLC and restart OBS; the source depends on VLC being installed. OBS documentation
  • YouTube receives no signal: check that OBS is streaming, the selected event is the intended one, and the stream URL and key match Live Control Room. If you reset the key, replace the old one in OBS.
  • The event preview appears but the broadcast is not public: for a scheduled stream, confirm the preview and click Go live in Live Control Room.
  • The playlist stops after the last file: enable Loop Playlist in the VLC Video source if you want it to repeat. Check that the source is playing and the correct files are in its list.
  • Video plays but viewers hear nothing: inspect the OBS audio mixer while a clip is playing, check that the VLC source is not muted, and review the recording’s audio track. Test another file to determine whether the issue affects one clip or the whole playlist.
  • The stream stutters or drops: check the local connection and whether the encoder settings fit the available upload bandwidth. Use YouTube’s current recommended settings for the selected resolution and frame rate; lower the output demand if the connection cannot sustain it. YouTube encoder settings
  • Live streaming is unavailable: verify the channel and restriction requirements, and remember that initial enablement may take up to 24 hours. YouTube Help
