The robot must be saved or approved before its recurring schedule can run.
Set up a recurring website check in Browse AI
- Open the robot. In the Browse AI dashboard, select the robot you want to run. If you are creating a robot, Browse AI also lets you configure a monitor during robot creation.
- Open Monitor. On the robot detail page, go to the Monitor tab and choose the monitor-creation action. Browse AI help pages use labels such as “Create a Monitor” and “Create new monitor”; the wording may vary. See the robot-running guide and monitoring guide.
- Choose the schedule. Select a frequency, then set the days and time if those controls are offered. Browse AI documents hourly, daily and weekly schedules; its monitoring guidance also describes minute-frequency options. Available choices can depend on the monitor. Some schedules allow “Anytime” rather than a specific time. Check the monitor’s timezone setting instead of assuming it follows your computer’s local timezone. - Set the page and inputs. Enter the origin URL and any input parameters the robot needs. Give the monitor a descriptive name so you can identify it later.
- Choose notifications. Enable the alert options you need. For email when captured text changes, Browse AI’s documented path is to select the robot, open Monitor, add or edit the monitor, enable the email notification, and save. Verify your email address if alerts do not arrive; see the notification guide.
- Save the monitor and robot. Save the monitor. Confirm the robot itself is saved or approved: Browse AI states that nothing runs on a schedule until the robot is saved. Its approval guide explains the prerequisite.
A monitor runs the robot repeatedly according to its schedule; each run creates a task, and results appear in task history. Browse AI describes this behavior in its task guide.

Choose a cadence that fits the page
Base the frequency on how often the target page changes and how quickly you need to notice. A slower schedule uses fewer recurring runs but can miss short-lived changes; a very frequent schedule may spend task capacity checking a page that rarely updates. Browse AI’s schedule guidance recommends matching checks to the target site’s update pattern and managing credit use.

- Hourly or more frequent: consider this when changes need prompt detection and the page is likely to update often.
- Daily: useful for routine checks where a delay of several hours is acceptable.
- Weekly: suits pages that change infrequently, but it can miss a change that appears and disappears between checks.
The exact frequency options shown can vary by monitor. Do not assume a particular schedule choice is available for every robot or account.

Understand task and credit use
Each scheduled execution is a task, and recurring checks consume capacity. Browse AI says the credit cost depends on the amount of extracted data and the target site’s cost classification; premium sites can cost more than standard sites. Its credit guide lists vendor-published figures: for standard sites, a minimum of 1 credit per task, 1 credit per 10 rows, 1 credit per screenshot, and 1 credit per 10 single captured text values. The listed premium-site equivalents range from 2 to 10 credits. These are not a universal fixed price per check, because the site classification and what the robot captures affect usage.
Estimate usage by considering how often the monitor runs and what it captures, then check actual account usage after it has run. Plan and credit terms can change; consult Browse AI’s plan guide for current vendor-published plan details.

When to use the API or an integration instead
The dashboard monitor is the straightforward option for a recurring check managed by a person. Use the API if you need to create or list monitors programmatically or manage a group of schedules; Browse AI documents monitor operations and an RRULE-like schedule representation in its automated-monitoring API guide. If another application event should trigger a robot run, Browse AI’s robot-running guide names Zapier, Make.com and Pabbly Connect as automation options.
Troubleshoot a monitor that is not working as expected
- No runs appear: make sure the monitor was saved and the robot is saved or approved. A schedule does not run for an unsaved robot.
- Runs happen at an unexpected hour: inspect the monitor’s timezone and selected time or “Anytime” setting; do not infer the schedule from the browser’s timezone.
- No email arrives: confirm the email notification is enabled on the monitor, save the change, and verify the email address.
- Usage is higher than expected: review the task’s captured rows, screenshots and text values, along with the site’s standard or premium classification. Reduce frequency or the amount captured if the check does not need to be as frequent or broad.
- The needed cadence is missing: check the options available on that specific monitor. For more specialized schedule management, consult the API guide rather than assuming every dashboard monitor exposes the same controls.
