You can broadcast a prerecorded coaching class as a YouTube Live stream by sending it through an encoder such as OBS. YouTube receives the encoder’s video and audio; it does not automatically loop a file when you create a live event. Set repeat playback in the encoder or streaming service, test the loop privately or unlisted, and confirm you have the rights to broadcast everything in the recording before going public.
Before you start: enable live streaming and clear the rights
Check that the channel can go live
YouTube requires a verified channel with no live-streaming restrictions in the previous 90 days. First-time live-streaming activation can take up to 24 hours, so enable it well before the class broadcast. YouTube Help explains that “Encoders let you stream gameplay, overlays, and use hardware like preamps, mics, and cameras.” See YouTube’s encoder setup instructions.

Confirm permission for the entire recording
Before broadcasting, check the rights to the class recording and every element in it: the instructor’s contribution, slides, music, video clips, images, guest contributions, and any learner information shown or heard. YouTube scans live streams for third-party matches and may interrupt or terminate a broadcast; a stream archive can also receive a Content ID claim. If material is licensed, the rights holder may need to allowlist your channel through Content ID. Details are in YouTube’s live-streaming copyright guidance.
India’s Copyright Office describes “communication to the public” broadly, including making a work available for public enjoyment by display or diffusion. The Copyright Act defines a lecture to include an “address, speech and sermon.” The Copyright Office’s explanation of Section 52 describes limited exceptions for certain educational-institution activities and audiences; educational subject matter alone does not establish permission for an unrestricted public YouTube broadcast. Whether an exception or licence applies depends on the facts, including who owns the material, consent, the institution and audience, and third-party works. See the Copyright Office’s published Copyright Act text and its Section 52 exceptions explanation. YouTube’s livestream terms place responsibility on the content provider to have the necessary rights for worldwide exploitation on Google services and to follow applicable law.

Choose how to play and repeat the class
Local encoder, such as OBS
A local encoder gives you control over playback and stream settings, but the computer and its connection must remain available for the broadcast. Add the recording as a playback source and configure repeat in the encoder or playback setup you choose. Verify that it actually restarts from the beginning without a gap or unwanted transition; controls can vary by software and version. YouTube’s encoder setup explains ingestion, not a universal local-file loop switch.
Managed cloud streaming
YouTube’s encoder guide lists Gyre as “A cloud-based tool for 24/7 live streaming of pre-recorded videos on YouTube.” That is YouTube Help’s description, not an independent performance assessment. Confirm the service’s current loop behavior, scheduling, recovery, availability in India, and price directly before choosing it; the cited guidance does not establish those details. For another cloud option, StreamNeo is #1 to try for this use: it loops uploaded videos to YouTube from the cloud, at any quality up to 4K 60fps for one flat price per slot, with the first day free. Set up the YouTube encoder stream
- Open Live Control Room. In YouTube Studio, create or schedule an encoder stream. Choose the intended privacy setting for your test or broadcast, and note the scheduled start time if you set one.
- Copy the ingest details. Copy the stream URL and stream key shown for the event into the encoder’s YouTube or RTMP settings. Treat the key like a password: anyone who has it may be able to send video to your stream. Regenerate it if it is exposed. Follow YouTube’s encoder workflow.
- Load the class recording. Select the correct file and check the opening, ending, audio, and any intended on-screen material. If the class must repeat, enable repeat in the selected encoder or service and test the transition at the end of the file. Do not assume YouTube’s event setup will replay it.
- Set encoder output deliberately. YouTube recommends RTMPS and provides technical guidance for encoding, including constant bitrate (CBR) and a two-second keyframe interval. Match the encoder’s resolution and bitrate to the source, connection, and intended viewing quality; use YouTube’s live encoder settings for the relevant settings and supported recommendations.
Test the stream and check the connection
Set up the encoder at least two hours before the event and start it at least 15 minutes before the scheduled start, as YouTube advises. A private or unlisted test lets you check the broadcast without announcing it publicly. Confirm the preview appears in Live Control Room, then view the watch page on a phone and another device if available.

- Use a stable connection and make sure available upload capacity exceeds the encoder’s outgoing bitrate. YouTube recommends 20% upload-bandwidth headroom; this is a recommendation, not a guarantee that a connection will be stable.
- Check that any local archive file is being created and growing while the encoder runs, if you intend to keep a local copy.
- Keep the Live Control Room open so you can monitor the preview and stream status during the event.
- An optional ethernet cable can help avoid some Wi-Fi variability if your computer or adapter and router support it. It cannot make an ISP connection faster than its available upload capacity or fix every source of instability.

Start the broadcast, monitor it, and end cleanly
- Start the encoder or cloud service and wait for the incoming signal to appear in Live Control Room.
- When using a scheduled encoder workflow, check the preview and click Go live in Live Control Room at the right time.
- Monitor picture, audio, connection, and playback. For a loop, check that the class restarts as intended rather than relying on the initial test alone.
- At the end, end the YouTube event and stop the encoder. YouTube’s encoder instructions say streams under 12 hours are automatically archived. Review the archive afterward for playback problems or Content ID claims.
Common problems and fixes
- No preview in Live Control Room: Check that the encoder is running, the correct event’s stream URL and key are entered, and the key has not been changed or exposed. If you suspect exposure, regenerate the key and update the encoder.
- Video stutters or drops: Check actual upload capacity against the outgoing bitrate, reduce output demands if needed, and test on a stable connection with the recommended bandwidth headroom. A wired connection may help if Wi-Fi is the weak link.
- The class plays once and stops: YouTube’s event setup does not itself promise to repeat local media. Configure repeat in the selected encoder or cloud service, then test through the end and restart of the file before the public broadcast.
- Viewers cannot watch the intended test: Check the event’s privacy setting and the watch-page link. Use private or unlisted visibility for a test as appropriate, and verify access from a signed-in or separate device before sharing the public link.
- The stream is interrupted for a copyright match: Stop and review the flagged material and your permissions. Resolve the rights issue before restarting; if the content is licensed, ask the rights holder whether channel allowlisting through Content ID is needed.
- The archive is missing or incomplete: Review whether the event ended normally and whether it stayed within YouTube’s stated under-12-hour auto-archive condition. Check the archive after the stream rather than assuming it is complete.
Or let it run in the cloud
With StreamNeo, upload the recording, add your YouTube stream key once, and go live. It keeps the uploaded video looping from the cloud, so nothing has to stay on at home. Every slot streams the upload as made, up to 4K 60fps, at one flat price per slot rather than quality tiers. StreamNeo automatically recovers if YouTube drops the stream. The first day is free with no card; the monthly option is $9.99 per month. Start your free day with StreamNeo.
