In desktop Chrome, open More > Extensions > Manage extensions and switch off the job-application extension. To remove it entirely, select Remove and confirm. If a submission is already underway, use the extension’s own Stop or Pause control first, if it has one.
Stop an application run that is already in progress
If the extension shows that it is applying now, look in its popup, dashboard, or active-run screen for Stop, Pause, or a similar control. Use that control before disabling the extension when it is available. The exact location and effect depend on the product.

For example, TryApplyNow’s Chrome Web Store listing says users can stop its LinkedIn Auto Apply run. Wynda’s listing also describes a stop option for an active run. These are vendor-reported details for those products, not a guarantee that another extension has the same control or that stopping it reverses work already submitted. - In Chrome, select More (the three-dot menu), then choose Extensions > Manage extensions.
- Find the job-application extension and switch it off. Chrome’s help page documents this as the control for turning an extension on or off: Install and manage extensions.
- To uninstall it instead, select Remove on its card and confirm when Chrome asks.
These steps apply to desktop Chrome. They are not instructions for Firefox, Safari, or a mobile browser.

If you are not sure which extension is responsible
Review the installed items in More > Extensions > Manage extensions. Look for extensions related to job applications, autofill, or job boards. Open a likely extension’s Details page to review its website access. Chrome lets you change that access, which may reduce where the extension can act; limiting access is not the same as switching the extension off.
Check whether the extension fills forms or submits them
“Autofill” does not necessarily mean that an application is sent automatically. Capabilities can differ by product, job board, and workflow. TryApplyNow’s listing describes its supported Workday, Ashby, Lever, and Greenhouse flow as filling application fields and then stopping for the user to review them. The same listing describes LinkedIn Auto Apply as submitting Easy Apply applications up to a user-set limit. Those are listing-reported descriptions of TryApplyNow, not rules that apply to other extensions. TryApplyNow listing.

Wynda’s listing describes a background application workflow that can be stopped and that pauses when it needs a login, verification, or an answer only the user can provide. AutoApplier’s website says its process continues across supported boards until the user stops it. These examples illustrate why it is worth checking the specific extension’s listing and settings rather than assuming every tool behaves alike. Wynda listing; AutoApplier.

Turning off or removing an extension stops it from continuing to operate in Chrome; it does not establish that an application already sent to an employer can be recalled. Check the job-board or employer application portal for a withdrawal option, or contact the employer directly. Whether withdrawal is possible depends on that service and application.
