Finish the entire Campaign, then make sure the game is updated to version 1.3.0 or later. That unlocks New Game+; the official notes do not document the exact menu sequence for starting it, so look for the option in the game’s campaign or story interface without relying on an unverified button-by-button route.
Unlock New Game+ by completing the full Campaign
IO Interactive’s Update 1.3.0 patch notes state: “To unlock New Game+, a completed playthrough of the entire Campaign is necessary.” Finishing only part of the story is not enough.

New Game+ arrived in Game Client Version 1.3.0 as part of the free Extended Operations update. The patch notes were updated October 1, 2026, and list the update’s release time as 12:00 UTC.

- Complete the entire main Campaign.
- Update the game to version 1.3.0 or later.
- Open the game’s campaign or story interface and look for the New Game+ start option.
The official notes confirm the completion requirement, but do not give the exact menu labels or navigation steps. The option’s precise location is therefore not established here.

What changes in New Game+
- Outfits and checkpoints: During a playthrough, the journal lets you switch outfits and restart from a chosen checkpoint.
- Gadgets: You can change gadgets during a mission, but only among gadgets already unlocked at that point in the story. New gadgets still become available in campaign order.
How “00” difficulty relates to New Game+
“00” is a separate difficulty, not a prerequisite for unlocking New Game+. It also unlocks after completing the Campaign. The patch notes describe it as more punishing: enemies spot you faster and hit harder, while gadget resources restore only a fraction of their usage.
If New Game+ does not appear
- Check that the installed game version is 1.3.0 or later.
- Confirm that the save records completion of the entire Campaign, rather than a partial run.
- If both are true and the option is still missing, consult current support for your platform; the official notes reviewed do not identify a specific known bug or verified recovery sequence.
The game’s official support FAQ says the main Campaign can be played offline after a one-time internet connection to download the Day 1 patch, and an IOI Account is not required to play. The FAQ does not specifically confirm whether every New Game+ function works identically offline.

Supported platforms
Official support lists PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC (Steam, Epic, and Microsoft Store) as platforms for 007 First Light. The New Game+ unlock requirement is described in the official patch notes, not as a platform-specific rule.
