QSSR on a standard PS5 is enabled through supported games, not a console-wide system setting. Update the game: in Marvel’s Wolverine, QSSR is on by default after update 1.002.000; in Ghost of Yōtei, look for QSSR among the game’s graphics options. Sony has not published an exact menu path or default state for Ghost of Yōtei.
How to enable QSSR on PS5
QSSR (Quick Spectral Super Resolution) arrives through updates to supported games. There is no documented universal QSSR switch in the standard PS5 system settings. Install the relevant game update, then follow the title-specific instructions below.

Marvel’s Wolverine
- Update Marvel’s Wolverine to version 1.002.000 or later.
- Launch the updated game. Insomniac’s notes for update 1.002.000 say QSSR is used on PS5 and is on by default, so the notes do not require a separate setting change. See Insomniac’s update 1.002.000 notes.
Ghost of Yōtei
- Install the game update that adds QSSR.
- Open the game’s graphics options and look for QSSR. Sony confirms it is an available graphics option, but its English announcement does not specify the exact menu path or whether it is enabled by default. See Sony’s announcement.
Why there is no QSSR switch in PS5 system settings
Sony describes QSSR as an additional graphics option in supported games, rather than a console-wide setting. Do not follow instructions for the PS5 Pro’s “Enhance PSSR Image Quality” option: PlayStation Support says that feature is available only on consoles in the CFI-7000 model group. Its support page is specific to Canada.

Which games support QSSR?
Sony named Marvel’s Wolverine and Ghost of Yōtei as the first supported titles in its October 1, 2026 announcement. Their updates add QSSR as a graphics option on standard PS5. Sony anticipates more titles, but the announcement does not name additional games.

What QSSR does—and what is known about performance
Sony describes QSSR as a performance tier of AI upscaling derived from PSSR, designed for standard PS5 with a streamlined neural network and a hand-tuned implementation. Sony says it improves image detail and stability; those are qualitative company claims, not quantified independent measurements. The announcement provides no measured resolution gain, frame-rate effect, or percentage improvement.
QSSR is related to PSSR, but they are not interchangeable console features: Sony describes QSSR for supported games on standard PS5 and says PSSR remains its top-tier upscaling technology on PS5 Pro. In any supported game, compare the available graphics modes and their documented trade-offs; the sources cited here do not establish measured image-quality or frame-rate differences between modes.
