If you already publish a podcast through an RSS feed, you can send eligible episodes to YouTube from YouTube Studio. YouTube verifies that you control the feed, turns selected episodes into videos with your show art as a static image, and uploads them to your channel. RSS delivery is available only in selected regions, and the first uploads are private until you publish the podcast.
What YouTube RSS delivery does
YouTube treats a podcast as a playlist and each episode as a video. With RSS delivery, YouTube creates static-image videos from episodes in your feed, using the podcast’s show art. After setup, new episodes added to the feed can upload automatically. RSS delivery makes the show available on YouTube and YouTube Music; it does not distribute it to other podcast services. YouTube’s RSS delivery guide explains the feature.
As an Amazon Associate I earn from qualifying purchases.
A podcast may qualify for features such as YouTube Music inclusion and podcast badges, but eligibility is not guaranteed. Content you do not own and copyright issues can affect eligibility. YouTube’s podcast distribution guidance describes podcast requirements and features.

- Check your region. RSS ingestion is available only in selected countries and regions; availability depends on the channel owner’s location. Check YouTube’s current RSS availability list before starting.
- Get the feed URL and access to its email address. YouTube sends a verification code to the email address included in the RSS feed. If you do not know which address the feed uses, ask your podcast hosting provider.
- Have the show art ready. YouTube uses it as the still image for RSS-created episode videos.
- Sign in to YouTube Studio. If your channel does not have advanced feature access, YouTube may require identity verification during setup.
- Choose the import range. Decide whether to import all existing episodes, episodes released since a particular date, or only future episodes.
- Decide on visibility and disclosures. Consider the initial visibility setting and whether episodes include branded content.
The documented RSS workflow requires a feed, Studio access, verification through the feed email, and show art—not a microphone or other physical equipment. This guide assumes you already have a podcast feed.

Submit the RSS feed and publish your podcast
- In YouTube Studio, select Create → New podcast → Submit RSS feed.
- Review and accept the RSS ingestion terms, enter the feed URL, and continue.
- Request the ownership verification code. Check the email address specified in the feed, then enter the code in Studio.
- Choose which episodes to upload: all existing episodes, episodes from a date you select, or future episodes only.
- Review visibility details, mark branded content where appropriate, and save.
- Wait for the selected episodes to upload. YouTube says this can take a few days. Initial RSS uploads are private; YouTube recommends waiting until all selected episodes have uploaded before publishing, so you can check for problems.
- When the episodes are ready, open Content → Podcasts and select Publish beside the feed. The podcast and new episodes become public after publication unless you change their visibility settings.
- Review the imported videos for copyright or monetization issues. Use YouTube’s applicable controls to disclose sponsorships, endorsements, or other branded content.
For the current Studio workflow and publishing controls, see YouTube’s instructions for publishing or disconnecting RSS episodes.
What RSS does not keep in sync
- It does not notify subscribers about back-catalog imports. Adding older episodes through RSS does not trigger subscriber notifications.
- It does not automatically refresh show details or replace audio. Later changes to feed metadata and re-uploaded audio files are not automatically reflected in YouTube’s existing videos. To correct an episode, use Re-upload from RSS feed. YouTube creates a new video and makes the old one private.
- Deleting a YouTube video does not delete the feed episode. YouTube may upload the episode again unless you also remove it from the RSS feed. If you only want it hidden from the podcast, making the YouTube video private is an option.
- Episode order and dates can differ across YouTube surfaces. The playlist page sorts RSS episodes by feed release date when available; otherwise, it uses YouTube’s publish date. YouTube does not verify RSS release dates, and different surfaces may show either date.
- RSS delivery is not an import to other podcast services. It sends the podcast to YouTube and YouTube Music, not to other platforms.
For an existing YouTube podcast, you can connect RSS from the podcast details page. Choose an import date after the latest episode already on YouTube to avoid duplicates. See YouTube’s RSS instructions for the connection workflow.

If RSS is unavailable or you want more control over visuals
You can create a podcast in YouTube Studio and add full-length episode videos instead. An MP3 file alone cannot be a YouTube podcast episode: YouTube episodes are videos. For audio-only shows, turn each episode into a video with a static image such as the podcast thumbnail, or use an audiogram or another dynamic visual format.
Keep the podcast playlist for full-length episodes in their intended listening order. Do not designate a clips playlist or a season-specific playlist as the podcast playlist. The Studio process is described in YouTube’s podcast creation guide.

Or let it run in the cloud
RSS podcast delivery publishes podcast episodes as videos; it is not a way to keep a continuous YouTube livestream running. If you separately want uploaded videos to loop as a 24/7 YouTube stream, StreamNeo runs that stream from the cloud: upload a recording or build a playlist, add your YouTube stream key, and go live. Nothing has to stay on at home, and each slot streams your upload as made, up to 4K 60fps, at one flat price per slot. StreamNeo automatically recovers if YouTube drops the stream. The first day is free with no card. Monthly pricing is $9.99 per month. Start your free StreamNeo day.
