If you own a Dollar Tree electric balloon pump, stop using it immediately and check the model number. The U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC) recall announced October 1, 2026, covers model 406198. Return a matching pump to any Dollar Tree store for a full refund; if you bought it online, contact Dollar Tree for a prepaid return label.
How to tell whether your pump is recalled
Look for model number 406198 on the silver rating label on the bottom of the pump or on its packaging. The recalled product is a pink plastic high-pressure electric balloon pump with a blue handle and two nozzles. It has continuous and touch-on modes.

The recall covers about 360,500 pumps sold at Dollar Tree stores nationwide and online at dollartree.com and doordash.com from August 2025 through July 2026. The CPSC notice lists the retail price as about $17. See the CPSC recall notice for the official identification details.
Stop using a matching pump
Do not use the pump if its model number is 406198. The hazard is overheating, which can cause burns. Dollar Tree reported three overheating incidents, including one report of flames inside a pump and one report that a unit exploded; the CPSC notice says no injuries had been reported.

Return the pump to any Dollar Tree store for a full refund.
If you bought it online
Contact Dollar Tree to request a prepaid shipping label, then return the pump for a full refund. The CPSC notice does not specify whether proof of purchase is required. If you do not have it or need help with the return, ask Dollar Tree what to do.
