There is no YouTube-mandated percentage for splitting a channel’s earnings between collaborators. YouTube pays the channel’s partner according to the applicable monetization terms; the collaborators must separately agree in writing how to divide the money they receive. A 24/7 schedule does not change that distinction—or exempt the stream from monetization and copyright policies.
Separate YouTube’s share from your collaborators’ split
YouTube’s partner agreement and monetization modules determine what the channel earns from YouTube. A private agreement between collaborators determines how they share receipts after they reach the channel. These are separate layers: a YouTube rate is not a recommended or automatic collaborator percentage.

YouTube’s earnings overview states that the Commerce Product Module pays the partner 70% of net revenues from memberships, Super Chat, Super Stickers, and Super Thanks. The Watch Page Monetization Module pays the partner 55% of net revenues from ads shown or streamed on public videos on the content Watch Page. These are partner-level rates under the relevant modules, not splits between people. Check the channel’s current signed terms in YouTube Studio before relying on a rate; the agreement and module that apply to the channel govern. YouTube partner earnings overview

Agree on what the split applies to
Do not settle for “we split revenue” or an undefined promise of “net.” Put the covered income and calculation method in writing before relying on projected revenue.
List the included revenue sources
Specify whether the arrangement covers watch-page ads, memberships, Super Chat and Super Stickers, Super Thanks, YouTube Premium, Shopping, and separately negotiated sponsorships. Say whether income from other videos, channels, or work is excluded. If a source is not covered, state that explicitly.

Define the calculation base and expenses
State whether shares are calculated from finalized platform receipts, and identify any documented operating expenses that may be deducted first. Name the expenses that count—such as agreed rights or operating costs—and who must approve them. Clarify whether refunds, platform deductions, and adjustments reduce the distributable amount. “Net revenue” in a YouTube module describes the platform’s calculation; it does not, by itself, define the collaborators’ distributable cash.

Choose a formula that reflects the work and risk
No universal 50/50 or other standard collaborator split is established by YouTube’s guidance. Treat the percentage or formula as a negotiation, not a platform rule. Compare proposals against each person’s recurring hours and responsibilities, who pays costs, who contributes the channel, audience, format, or rights, who handles moderation and continuity, and who bears policy, rights, payment, or operational risks. Decide whether the formula rewards ongoing work, initial setup, or both. Those factors inform a business choice; they do not mechanically produce a prescribed percentage.

Plan for estimates, adjustments, and payment timing
YouTube revenue estimates can change after they are generated because of invalid traffic, Content ID claims, disputes, or certain ad campaign types. Finalized earnings appear in AdSense for YouTube; YouTube says the previous month’s earnings are generally added between the 7th and 12th of the current month. Actual payout timing also depends on thresholds, holds, tax information, and policy compliance. YouTube partner earnings overview
In the agreement, identify which record governs a distribution: estimated Analytics figures or finalized payment records. Decide how much, if any, to reserve for costs or later reversals; how adjustments, claims, refunds, or late corrections affect prior distributions; and whether a later payment can reconcile an overpayment. Set a statement and payout schedule, name who can access the relevant Analytics and finalized records, specify the payment method and any minimum distribution amount, and give collaborators a process and deadline for raising discrepancies.
Cover rights, responsibilities, access, and exit
A revenue percentage is only one part of a collaboration that keeps a stream running continuously. Record who handles setup, programming, moderation, technical operations, audience development, and coverage when someone is unavailable. Address the rights to the videos, music, brand assets, and other materials used in the stream, as well as who is responsible for securing and maintaining those rights.

Document who controls the channel and payment account, how people receive appropriate channel permissions, and how access is changed during a handover. Set termination terms and explain how previously earned but unpaid amounts will be handled. YouTube’s public monetization guidance does not decide ownership or other rights between collaborators, so these points need to be agreed between the people involved.

YouTube’s monetization policies apply to live streams. Channel or content policy issues can limit or eliminate earnings, and YouTube may withhold or adjust earnings associated with violations or Content ID claims. A stream’s continuous schedule does not protect it from those outcomes. Review YouTube channel monetization policies and the Commerce Products monetization policies relevant to any enabled features.

Write down who receives platform payments and what statements or records each collaborator receives. Tax liability may apply in a creator’s place of residence; YouTube recommends consulting a tax professional. The tax treatment depends on individual facts and jurisdiction, so this general guide cannot determine it for a particular collaboration. YouTube partner earnings overview
Use a written agreement, not an assumed default
Before the stream depends on shared income, the collaborators should have a written record of the terms they have actually agreed. It should identify revenue sources, the calculation base, allowable costs, the allocation formula, reserves and adjustments, access to records, payout cadence, duties, rights, channel access, tax records, and exit arrangements. The specific percentage is a business decision based on the collaborators’ contributions and exposure—not a number YouTube sets.
