Back at the main menu, choose Deploy / Server Browser for a regular match.
WARDOGS has no documented, dedicated “Skip Tutorial” button. This Esc-and-leave method is based on player reports, so the exact timer and menu behavior can vary by build.

The quickest way to bypass the WARDOGS tutorial
The practical route is to enter the tutorial normally and leave it from the pause menu once the game gives you control. You do not need to finish the lessons or complete a combat objective.
- Launch WARDOGS and select the tutorial.
- Wait for the loading screen to finish completely. The method will not work reliably from a loading screen or a title prompt; you need to be in the playable area.
- Confirm that you can move your character, then stop moving.
- Press Esc to open the pause menu.
- Keep the pause menu open and do not move while the leave lockout counts down. Community reports describe waits from about 10 seconds to 15–30 seconds.
- When Leave Match becomes selectable, choose it.
- Confirm the prompt to leave.
- At the main menu, select Deploy / Server Browser and join a normal server.
The visible menu state is more reliable than a stopwatch. If the option is still locked after 10 seconds, continue waiting; some players report a longer 15–30-second delay.

Is there an official Skip Tutorial button?
No dedicated one-click skip control is documented for WARDOGS. The available instructions come from Steam discussion reports and other player accounts, while BULKHEAD has not published a tutorial guide or a skip-button announcement in the material available for this procedure.
That distinction matters. The Esc method behaves like an early exit from a tutorial match rather than a formal account setting. It may continue to work after an update, but there is no published guarantee that every build, region or platform will expose the same timing or labels.
Why you must wait before choosing Leave Match
WARDOGS initially keeps the leave option locked. The pause menu can therefore appear to offer no way out even though the tutorial has loaded correctly. Players describe a short lockout that expires while the game is paused.
- Shortest reported wait: about 10 seconds in a recent player report.
- Longer reports: approximately 15–30 seconds in the main player guide.
- What to watch: the Leave Match entry changing from unavailable to selectable.
Do not move while waiting. The player guide says movement can restart the timer, which makes repeatedly walking around and reopening the menu look like a failed workaround. Stay on the pause screen until the command visibly unlocks, then activate it once.
Detailed walkthrough, including what each screen should show
1. Enter the tutorial from a clean launch
Choose the tutorial from the opening flow and allow the complete loading sequence to finish. If you are still seeing loading messages, key prompts or a transition into the playable area, wait rather than opening and closing menus repeatedly.

2. Wait for direct character control
The correct point is the first moment at which your character is under your control. You do not have to perform the tutorial’s lessons. Once control is available, stop input so that the lockout can run without being reset by movement.
3. Open the pause menu with Esc
Press Esc once. The pause menu should appear over the tutorial. If it does not, see the key-binding troubleshooting section below instead of assuming the tutorial is unskippable.

4. Let the leave lockout expire
Keep the pause menu open and wait. The exact duration is not fixed in the published player reports, so counting ten seconds and immediately clicking is not a dependable test. Wait until Leave Match is visibly enabled.
5. Leave and confirm
Select Leave Match. WARDOGS should display a confirmation prompt; accept it to exit the tutorial session. If you cancel the prompt, you remain in the tutorial and must wait for the command to unlock again only if the game has reset the timer.
6. Choose a regular deployment option
After the match closes, the game should return to the main menu. Select Deploy / Server Browser to look for a regular server instead of selecting the tutorial again.

Troubleshooting when the method appears not to work
Esc does nothing
Check the pause-key assignment in Controls. The reports describing this method assume the default Esc binding, but they do not establish a universal fix for every keyboard layout, custom profile or game build. If the control has been rebound, use the key shown for pause in your settings, or restore that action to Esc and try again.

Leave Match is visible but greyed out
Remain on the pause menu and continue waiting. The lockout is the expected reason for an unavailable command. Avoid moving, closing the menu or pressing movement keys while the timer runs; the player guide warns that movement can restart it. Use the command only after its state visibly changes.
The timer seems much longer than ten seconds
Ten seconds is a recent player-reported estimate, not a guaranteed limit. Other reports put the wait at 15–30 seconds. Continue until the control unlocks rather than treating ten seconds as a failure threshold.
You moved while waiting
Movement may restart the lockout. Stop moving, reopen the pause menu if necessary and wait through a fresh interval. There is no published fixed countdown that can be used to calculate the exact remaining time.
You returned to a menu but cannot find a normal match
Look specifically for Deploy / Server Browser. The expected result of leaving the tutorial is the regular deployment/server-browser path, not a separate “skip complete” notice. If you select the tutorial again, WARDOGS will load that session again.

The game asks for the tutorial again on another computer
Players report that a different PC can present the tutorial again even when their account level and cash carry over. That per-machine explanation is an inference from player observations, not an official WARDOGS rule. Treat the Esc procedure as a way to leave the current tutorial session, not as proof that every device has permanently recorded completion.

Your account progress may remain available
The reports about seeing the tutorial again on another PC also say that account level and cash can carry over. They do not establish a complete list of synchronized statistics, nor do they guarantee that every setting or tutorial flag follows the account. Do not assume that leaving the match permanently changes all devices.
The tutorial-completion achievement is delayed
Leaving early postpones the This is WARDOGS achievement, whose displayed description is “Complete the Tutorial.” You can still complete the tutorial later if you want that achievement; skipping now does not satisfy its requirement.
Steam ownership statistics are time-sensitive
The player guide recorded 77.2% — Valve, 21 September 2026 for ownership of “This is WARDOGS” when its figures were read. That is a snapshot of a changing Steam statistic, not a permanent completion rate and not a measure of how many players know the Esc method.
Another tutorial-related achievement has an unclear condition
WARDOGS also lists That was rude. Steam does not publish a description for that achievement, and the reported unlock condition comes from players rather than an official explanation. Skipping the tutorial therefore leaves uncertainty about whether a particular action in the tutorial is needed for it.
Should you skip the tutorial or complete it?
The right choice depends on whether you want immediate access to a normal match or the tutorial’s instruction and completion reward. Use the comparison below before leaving.

There is no separate utility, purchase or external software required for the reported method. It uses the in-game pause menu and the normal leave confirmation.
What to do if an update changes the menus
Because the procedure is player-reported rather than an announced feature, an update could rename a menu item, alter the lockout or remove the behavior. Check the labels on your current build instead of relying on an old screenshot or a fixed countdown.

- Wait for the current build to enable its leave command; do not assume the older 10-second estimate applies.
- After exiting, search the main menu for the current equivalent of Deploy / Server Browser.
- If no leave command ever becomes available, complete the tutorial or consult current player reports for that build; no official permanent skip procedure is documented here.

- Wait on the pause screen until Leave Match unlocks—roughly 10 seconds in one report, 15–30 seconds in others.
- Select and confirm Leave Match.

If the command remains locked, keep waiting without moving; if Esc does not open the menu, verify the pause binding in Controls. Remember that this exit delays the tutorial-completion achievement, and another PC may show the tutorial again even when some account data carries over.
