To activate Netflix on a supported Westinghouse TV, connect the television to the internet, finish its smart-TV or Roku setup, open Netflix from the Home screen, choose Sign In, and follow the prompts. Some models display a code that you enter on another device. Compatibility is model- and platform-dependent: Netflix says its Westinghouse support applies to select TVs, not every Westinghouse set.
On a Westinghouse Roku TV, first activate the Roku platform at the official my.roku.com/link address shown in the setup flow, then sign in to Netflix separately. Roku activation and Netflix account sign-in are two different steps.

Check compatibility before trying to sign in
Westinghouse televisions have shipped with different smart-TV platforms and capabilities. Netflix’s support guidance covers select Westinghouse models, so the presence of a Westinghouse logo does not by itself guarantee that the built-in app will be available. The fastest check is the TV’s Home screen: look for a Netflix tile or open the installed-app list and search for Netflix.
You also need a working internet connection and an active Netflix membership. The television must be powered on, connected to the network, and through its initial platform setup before an app can authenticate. If the set is new or has been reset, complete the first-run prompts before troubleshooting Netflix.

Pre-activation checklist
- Connect the TV to power and to a stable internet connection.
- Complete the television’s initial smart-TV setup.
- For a Roku model, complete Roku’s on-screen setup and account-linking process.
- Have the Netflix account email address, phone number, or other sign-in method available.
- Know which Netflix profile and plan should be used if several people share the account.
If Netflix is not present after setup, do not assume that an activation code will make an unsupported model compatible. Use the missing-app guidance below instead.
Activate Netflix from the built-in app
These steps cover a Westinghouse TV that has a usable Netflix app. The exact wording of menu items can vary by television platform, but the sequence is the same: establish connectivity, open Netflix, and authenticate the account.
- Turn on the TV and verify the network. From the television’s Home or Settings area, confirm that it reports an internet connection. A Netflix sign-in cannot complete while the TV is offline.
- Finish platform setup. If the TV is asking for region, language, network, privacy, or account information, complete those prompts first. Roku televisions must finish the Roku activation flow before channels can be used.
- Open Netflix. Select the Netflix tile on the Home screen. If it is inside an app grid, open that grid and choose Netflix.
- Choose Sign In. Netflix will present the sign-in method supported by that device. Follow the on-screen prompts rather than selecting a similarly named third-party app.
- Complete the authentication prompt. Some devices let you type the account credentials with the remote. Others show a code and instruct you to continue on a phone or computer. Enter the code only on the Netflix web page identified by the TV’s own instructions; do not use an activation site found through an advertisement or an unrelated search result.
- Select the intended profile. After authentication, choose the household profile that should be used on this television. If Netflix asks you to select a plan, use the account’s existing plan unless you intentionally want to change it.
- Play a title to confirm access. Opening a program verifies more than the sign-in screen: it confirms that the account, network connection, and TV app can communicate with Netflix.
The Netflix subscription is associated with the account, not with the television. Signing in does not create a new membership, and replacing the TV does not require a new plan as long as you continue using the same account and its device rules.
Activate a Westinghouse Roku TV
A Westinghouse Roku TV has two separate activation layers. Roku activation registers and configures the television’s Roku platform; Netflix sign-in then connects the Netflix channel to your Netflix account. Completing one does not automatically complete the other.
Roku platform activation
- Connect the Westinghouse Roku TV to power and the internet.
- Follow the Roku setup screens on the TV. They may ask for language, network, display, and account details.
- When the setup flow displays an activation instruction or code, use the official Roku address https://my.roku.com/link.
- Enter the code exactly as shown on the television and finish the Roku account-linking prompts.
- Return to the TV and wait for the Roku Home screen and channels to load.
Westinghouse warns users not to rely on search-engine results or unofficial pages for Roku activation. Roku does not charge for activation support; a page or caller demanding a fee to activate the television is not part of the normal activation process.

Netflix sign-in after Roku setup
- From the Roku Home screen, highlight the Netflix channel.
- Press the remote’s select button to open Netflix.
- Choose Sign In and follow Netflix’s credential or code-based instructions.
- Choose the correct profile and start a title to confirm playback.
Do not enter a Netflix code on the Roku activation page, or a Roku code on a Netflix sign-in page. The TV may show both kinds of prompts during first-time setup, but each code belongs to the service named in the instruction.
Where to enter the Netflix code
When Netflix displays a code, the television normally tells you to continue on another internet-connected device. Use a phone, tablet, or computer, open the exact web address shown by the TV or Netflix sign-in instructions, and enter the code there while signed in to the intended Netflix account. The code is a temporary link between the screen and the account; it is not your Netflix password.

Keep the TV’s Netflix screen open while entering the code. If the code expires, return to the TV and request a new one, then enter the replacement. Check each character carefully, especially when the remote displays similar-looking letters and numbers. Never share an activation code with a caller or a website that is not the service’s official page.
Netflix is missing from the Westinghouse TV
A missing Netflix tile usually means one of three things: the TV is not fully configured, the app is hidden in the app list, or the model/platform is not supported for native Netflix. Start with the least disruptive checks.
Check the Home screen and platform setup
- Return to the main Home screen instead of staying in an input, antenna, or settings view.
- Open the complete app or channel list; Netflix may not be pinned in the first row.
- Confirm that the TV’s initial setup has finished and that the network test reports an internet connection.
- On a Roku TV, finish Roku activation before expecting channels to appear.
If Netflix remains absent after those checks, the set may not support the app. Netflix states that a supported smart TV, streaming player, or game console connected to the internet can provide access instead.

Use an external Roku streaming player when native Netflix is unavailable
Connect a supported Roku streaming player to an available HDMI input, switch the Westinghouse TV to that input, complete the player’s setup, and open Netflix on the player. This approach leaves the television’s original software unchanged and can add Netflix to a set whose built-in platform is too old or lacks the app.

Repair common Windows errors and clear accumulated junk for a smoother, more stable PC - no reinstall needed.Free scan · no reinstallThe external player is a separate device and does not include a Netflix subscription. You still need to sign in with a Netflix account, and the player needs its own power and internet connection. If you later replace the Westinghouse TV, the player can generally move to another compatible HDMI display, subject to that device’s requirements.
Built-in app versus external player
| Consideration | Built-in Westinghouse app | External Roku streaming player |
|---|---|---|
| Hardware | No additional box; the TV runs Netflix directly. | Requires a separate player, HDMI input, and power. |
| Remotes | Usually one TV remote controls navigation and playback. | Uses the player’s remote, with the TV remote needed for input or volume on some setups. |
| Compatibility | Limited to Westinghouse models and platforms that Netflix supports. | Can provide Netflix to a compatible HDMI television when its built-in software lacks the app. |
| Replacement | Replacing the TV also replaces the built-in app environment. | The player can be moved to another compatible display. |
| Subscription | Requires your Netflix account. | Also requires your Netflix account; the device itself does not include Netflix service. |
Ultra HD (4K) requirements on a Westinghouse TV
Netflix lists separate conditions for Ultra HD on select Westinghouse Ultra HD televisions. Meeting one condition is not enough; all of the following must be true at the same time.
| Requirement | What Netflix specifies |
|---|---|
| Netflix plan | A plan that supports Ultra HD. |
| Television | A 2015-or-newer Ultra HD TV with the Netflix app and 60 Hz Ultra HD capability. |
| Internet connection | A steady connection of at least 15 megabits per second, according to Netflix’s 2026 support guidance. |
| Playback quality setting | Netflix streaming quality set to Auto or High. |
The 15 Mbps figure is a service requirement from Netflix’s support documentation, not a guarantee that every household will measure that speed during playback. Wi-Fi congestion, other devices using the connection, and network variability can still affect the stream. If a title plays in HD rather than Ultra HD, check the plan, TV model and refresh capability, quality setting, and connection stability together.
Sign out of Netflix on a Westinghouse TV
Sign out before giving the television to another person, returning it, or switching to a different Netflix household. Netflix’s menu location changes by app version, so use the path that matches what you see.

When the Netflix menu is across the top
- From the Netflix home screen, press the remote’s Back button to open the menu.
- Move left to the profile icon if the menu begins at the top.
- Select Get Help.
- Choose Sign out, then confirm.
When the Netflix menu is on the left
- Press Back from the Netflix home screen.
- Move to the bottom of the left-hand menu.
- Select Get Help.
- Choose Sign out and confirm.
When Get Help or Sign out is not visible
Open Settings if that option is available. If neither Settings nor Get Help exposes a sign-out command, Netflix documents this remote sequence:
Up, Up, Down, Down, Left, Right, Left, Right, Up, Up, Up, Up
After the sequence, choose the option that appears for your app, such as Sign out, Start Over, Reset, or Deactivate. These commands remove the Netflix account association from that app; they do not cancel the paid membership.

The code is rejected or has expired
Make sure you are using the code currently shown on the TV and the web address specified by the TV’s instructions. A code from an earlier screen may no longer be valid. Request a fresh code, keep the Netflix screen open, and enter it while signed in to the intended account.

Netflix opens but the wrong profile appears
Sign out using the menu path above and sign in again with the account that owns the desired profiles. At the profile-selection screen, choose the correct household profile rather than creating or selecting a similarly named one.
Netflix is present but Ultra HD is unavailable
Check every Ultra HD condition in the requirements table: the plan, the 2015-or-newer 60 Hz Ultra HD television requirement, the steady 15 Mbps connection, and the Auto or High quality setting. A television that displays ordinary HD can still fail one of those specific Ultra HD conditions.
A website or caller asks for an activation fee
Stop and return to the TV’s own instructions. Use Netflix’s official support guidance for Netflix sign-in and Westinghouse’s support information for the television. For Roku activation, use https://my.roku.com/link; Westinghouse says Roku does not charge for activation support. Do not provide account credentials or payment details to an unofficial activation service.
Do these 3 things before closing this tab:
1Scan for outdated or missing drivers - takes under a minute2Repair Windows errors before they cause bigger problems3Fix the driver behind crashes, sound loss and screen glitchesKeep the two accounts and two activation flows straight
The simplest way to diagnose a Westinghouse Netflix problem is to identify which layer failed:
- TV connectivity: the set cannot reach the internet, so no streaming app can authenticate or play.
- Platform setup: the television or Roku software has not completed its first-run activation.
- Netflix sign-in: the app is available, but the Netflix account has not been linked or the code was entered incorrectly.
- Playback eligibility: the account, TV capability, quality setting, or connection does not meet the conditions for a particular format such as Ultra HD.
Fix the earliest failed layer first. Entering a Netflix code repeatedly will not repair an unfinished Roku setup, and activating Roku will not sign you into a Netflix account.
Quick Recap
When to choose each activation path
| Your situation | Use this path | Why |
|---|---|---|
| Netflix tile is visible on a supported Westinghouse smart TV | Open Netflix and choose Sign In. | It is the shortest route and requires no extra hardware. |
| Westinghouse Roku TV is new or has been reset | Complete Roku activation first, then sign in to Netflix. | Roku platform registration and Netflix account linking are separate. |
| Netflix is absent from a fully configured TV | Use a supported external Roku streaming player if the TV has a compatible HDMI input. | The external player supplies a supported Netflix environment. |
| You are preparing the TV for another person | Sign out through Get Help, Settings, or the documented remote sequence. | It removes your Netflix account from that television. |
| You want Ultra HD | Check the plan, TV year and capability, 15 Mbps requirement, and quality setting. | Netflix requires all listed conditions together. |
Final checklist
- Confirm the Westinghouse model and platform are among those supported for Netflix.
- Connect the TV or streaming player to the internet.
- Finish smart-TV or Roku setup before opening Netflix.
- Use the Netflix tile’s Sign In command and the current code, if one is displayed.
- Use https://my.roku.com/link only for Roku platform activation.
- For a missing built-in app, use a supported external Roku streaming player rather than an unofficial activation service.
- For Ultra HD, verify every Netflix requirement rather than relying on the TV’s resolution label alone.
- Sign out through Netflix’s Get Help or Settings menu before handing over the television.
