If the voice describes scenes in a show or movie, turn off Audio Description or Video Description instead.
First identify which voice is speaking
The timing of the narration points to the right setting:

- Menus or TV actions: Audio Guidance reads on-screen menus, device status, and operations such as changing the channel or adjusting volume.
- Scenes in a program: Audio Description, sometimes called Video Description, narrates visual details while a show or movie plays.
LG describes these as separate accessibility features, so switching off one may not stop the other.
Turn off Audio Guidance
On most newer LG TVs, use the remote to open Settings → All Settings → General → Accessibility → Audio Guidance, then select Off. LG’s support instructions use this path for webOS 6.0 through webOS 22 and webOS 23 or later.

On TVs running software earlier than webOS 5.0, look under Settings → All Settings → Accessibility → Audio Guidance and switch it off. Menu names and layout can vary by model; if you do not see the listed path, check the TV’s user guide for its model and software version.
Open Accessibility with the remote’s Mute button
LG says holding the remote’s Mute button can open Accessibility settings, where you can switch off Audio Guidance. A long press on a Magic Remote’s Mute button can also activate Audio Guidance, which may explain why the TV began speaking unexpectedly.

Turn off narration during a show or movie
If the voice describes what is happening on screen rather than reading menus or TV actions, look in Settings → All Settings → General → Accessibility on newer TVs for Audio Description or Video Description. On older models, check Settings → All Settings → Accessibility.

If the narration continues after you turn off the TV’s description setting, it may be enabled by the app, connected set-top box, or other device supplying the program. Check that source’s audio or accessibility settings as well.

Why the setting may be hard to find
LG’s Audio Guidance instructions place the setting in different menu locations depending on the webOS generation, and menu labels can differ by model. If neither path matches your TV, identify the model and webOS version and consult its user guide rather than changing unrelated sound settings.
