To set up tipping on Streamlabs, connect a supported payment account in Streamlabs Dashboard > Tipping, customize and save your Tip Page, then share its URL where viewers can find it. Streamlabs documents PayPal Business and PayPal Standard; available payment methods and eligibility depend on your account and country.
Connect a payment method
- Open the Tipping section. Sign in to Streamlabs Dashboard and select Tipping. Streamlabs’ quick guide places payment connection controls there. Streamlabs’ quick guide.
- Choose an account option. Streamlabs documents PayPal Business and PayPal Standard. PayPal Business is Streamlabs’ recommended option for broader payment methods; its quick guide identifies credit cards and Venmo for users in the US. PayPal Standard is described as accepting PayPal. Select the option offered in your dashboard and follow the PayPal authorization flow, then return to Streamlabs.
- Check privacy and eligibility. Streamlabs recommends PayPal Business if you want more control over what personal information viewers see. A personal PayPal account may expose personal information, and details shown depend on the processor and account settings. Business onboarding can still request business and personal details, so do not assume the setup makes you anonymous. Confirm that PayPal can send and receive payments for your account and location.
Payment options and availability can vary by account and country. Streamlabs’ reviewed setup pages do not establish a universal fee schedule; check the current PayPal terms for your location before relying on a particular payment method or fee.

Customize and save your Tip Page
- In Tipping, find your Tip Page URL and open its customization options. The dashboard’s exact layout can change, so use the labels currently shown in your account.
- Choose the page settings before sharing it: currency, minimum tip, suggested amounts, maximum tip, message length, and whether tipper login is required. Decide whether to enable monthly recurring tips.
- Adjust the visual design as needed. Streamlabs lists theme, background, font, logo, and banner options in its customization guide. Review the page, then save your changes. Streamlabs’ Tip Page customization guide.
Share the link with viewers
Copy the Tip Page URL from the Tipping section and place it where your audience is likely to look. Streamlabs suggests Twitch and Kick panels; YouTube channel information and stream descriptions; Facebook Page bio or About information and stream descriptions; and Instagram or TikTok profile bios. Use the placements that fit your channels, and check that the link opens the saved page.

Know how tips and payments work
Streamlabs says supporters can send one-time or monthly recurring tips through the Tip Page. PayPal processes the funds directly; they are not held by Streamlabs. PayPal may require a recipient to accept a payment manually. For payment or chargeback issues, Streamlabs directs users to contact PayPal. Streamlabs’ PayPal tipping guide.

Before promoting the page, test the public-facing link and review the payment account’s display details. If viewers report that a method is unavailable, check PayPal’s current country eligibility and the account’s settings rather than assuming every viewer can use the same payment option.
Troubleshoot common setup problems
- The payment account will not connect: confirm you selected a supported option in Streamlabs Tipping, complete the PayPal authorization flow, and return to the dashboard. Verify the account can send or receive payments in your country.
- Viewers cannot use an expected payment method: available options vary by account and location. Streamlabs’ quick guide identifies credit cards and Venmo (US) with PayPal Business, but that does not guarantee availability to every creator or supporter.
- Your name or personal details appear: review the PayPal account type and its display settings. Streamlabs recommends Business rather than a personal account for greater control over personal-information visibility, but it is not an anonymity guarantee.
- The page does not reflect your edits: return to Tip Page customization, check the settings, and save again before testing the URL.
- A payment is pending or disputed: PayPal may require manual acceptance; for processing and chargeback issues, contact PayPal.
